- Strange Brew als (Playback-)Auftritt der Supergroup Cream mit Eric Clapton (g), Jack Bruce (b) und Ginger Baker (d) am 20.05.1967 im Beat Club.
Best known as one of the first "supergroups" in rock history, the Cream combined the talent of three outstanding musicians of the 60s: Blues rock guitarist Eric Clapton, bass player Jack Bruce and jazz-influenced drummer Ginger Baker. Together they fused blues, rock and psychedelic and put the idea of jamming music with 20-minute-jams into a higher level. They sold over 35 million albums and their third album, Wheels of Fire, became the first platinum-selling album in the world.
Real drummers wear a cape.

***** Damn, i need to get some molly and a cock ring then :)
ginger baker does look like an awesome wizard with wands
jack alquist damn right.... Not just any Cape a ginger cape
C Preston he is one of the best ever. Easily in the top 5. The Cape is a bit flamboyant but hey his playing backs it up
Best 3 things about this vid:
1) Ginger's cape
2) Eric's bottom lip
3) The Elephant hanging from Jack's bass.
+scott tudhope In this video Jack is playing on a 6 string bass guitar!

RIP the two members of Cream
Ginger Baker (August 19, 1939 - October 6, 2019), aged 80
Jack Bruce (May 14, 1943 - October 25, 2014), aged 71
You both will be remembered as legends.
RIP
🤘
When the third dies. I'm sure your gonna come back to edit the messege
Seems to me baker was born and died at exactly the great times ever. As a kid in the 50’s a young man in the 60’s a man with cash in the 80’s and passed before the covid take over.
Now I know, thanks. I was wondering what happend. I new that Ginger went to Africa. It was all years ago.
Now I have got back to them.
Syd Barrett/Jethro Tull/The Stranglers 🙂
They were more impactful in only two years together than most bands in a lifetime.
Psychedelic blues rock master piece, nothing less or more to say!

@@gore1089 LMAO He looks ridiculous but I love it!
"we were fuckin' good. that's how we called ourselves cream!"- ginger baker
Cream of the crop.
We lost Ginger Baker today.
RIP
This song showcases his drumming talents well.
Truly sad day in music.
Always love Cream, Eric had tooth surgery mouth frozen but still trying...it is Baker cracking up that kills me!! Great vid
Tooth surgery my buttcrack. Gurning like a glaswegian ned.
The lip and the white boy "fro" 😂😂
How do you know? That's weird!
Always remember playing this for you Stefi. I expect you are happily married with kids now. He is a very lucky man! All the best Neil
Neil finer Campbell damn bro shit brought a tear to my eye in the office lmao
I think Clapton had some strange brew before he went onstage.
:-)))))))))))))))))) Thank you, LOLLLLLLLLLLLL
They all had some strange brew before performing 😅
The strange brew permed his hair, copying Hendrix's perm...
Johny Grasa you made me laugh 😂 my pants out
Oliver Marks I don’t doubt he was influcenced by Hendrix by the fashion and the hair but everyone was getting perms in those days man it was the thing especially in the UK
Hendrix asked only one question when his manger told him to go to
England to make it big, he said " Do you think I could meet Eric
Clapton?"
Oh, yeah, that's when Jimi stole Clapton's thunder, right? hahaha
Best guitarists ever!
I remember that. Well I don't remember because I was born in 67. But I remember reading that several times.
Jimi had an effect to clapton and cream. I used to feel clapton was jealous of jimi, but i was dead wrong when clapton gave praises to him and said his life was changed after watching jimi play killing floor. Even here, their clothes and afros are jimi style lol i gained much respect for clapton now. I slept on him for too long
I should also mention, clapton had an effect on Jimi, as well. They both influenced each other, respected each other, and made each other be at their best.
That's not what he said. He actually asked if he could meet Jeff Beck, not Clapton. Truth.
My all time favorite band. I still play their tunes every day - some 56 years later.
Me, too❤
I'm 66 still rocking out with cream
_Strange Brew_ stimulates something in me that is pretty much indescribable. The lyrics of this song, its lead, the drums, the bass. A totally unique number indeed.
The first time Buddy Guy met Eric, Buddy said to him, "That Strange Brew, man. I liked that one," & Eric replied, "It's you." You can hear Buddy's influence on it.
Clapton seemed to have changed his hair like 5 times while he was with cream in the span of two years; growing up I had the hardest time figuring out who was who. This was one of the first songs I figured out on guitar by ear, with a simple but effective solo; one of my favorite Cream tracks!
Christian James Michelsen ~in this video-shoot, he had the "obligatory Hendrix perm", which so many artists felt necessary to have in those days; Jimi must have made such an impact when he hit England-!
I Am Lam No the hair was not about Jimi. It was Bob Dylan ‘s style. They all copied him.
@@roseblake5803 good point, Dylan had the big rat's nest by '65 at least.
@melcomd ..... hahahahaha jew fro hahahahahahahahAhahahahahaha
To find Clapton go for the jaw movement.
I would like to mourn the passing of Jack Bruce as this really was one of the TV clips that not only triggered a love of bluesy rock but also alerted me to bass playing. He was a fearsome player, great singer and writer and his lasting legacy is people like me who want to copy his chops. All the best into the void, old boy.
I got alerted to the bass with the Beatles. I had never paid attention to bass till I listened to Paul McCartney in 1964! After him lots of bass players realised they could contribute a lot to a rock song. Impossible to say who was the best because that was a time full of talent. But Jack Bruce is among my favorites. He also could sing really well and The Cream was a terrific rock band. I have some of their records. Sad to know Jack has left us today. Thank you, Jack! You helped a lot filling our lives with great music.
Jack Bruce and John Paul Jones...underrated bass guitar GREATs
@@cedriclashar8905 underrated are you fucking mad ... I'm just gonna stop there 😞😞😞
Oh yeah ☺
R.I.P. Ginger Baker. All that left is Eric :(
Breaks my heart too dear.
R.I.P Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce.
Sadly Eric is the only surviving member of this dynamic trio. It serves as a reminder that the intense era of psychedelic music becomes farther away as time goes on.
GINGER BAKER (1939 - 2019)
Der beste !!!! R.I. P.
He's with Bonham now
RIP Ginger!

RIP Jack Bruce. You were a master bass player and a good singer to boot.
this song is way underrated. should be way more popular than it is.
Wow! Clapton is so good he doesn't even need a cord or a wireless transmitter to be heard.
R.I.P, Ginger Baker, probably the best drummer in the rock history❣️💔😥
Definitely, then John Bonham (Led Zep)
Most jazz drummers are good.
My opinion❤❤
Everything about this is funny. I love Cream! They rocked the 1960s 💕❤️🇬🇧
Clapton's playing in Cream was his best. This song's heavy duty.
Lol, I agree to some point.)) He's always been the best, and to this day even.
All of his solo licks are directly ripped
@@hairycrocs5038 Basically just Albert Kings licks but doesn't bother me, he still made it his own
@@youreatoilet It wasn't that he made the licks his own, but it was that he interpreted Black music (Blues) and gave it an arrangement, tone, and packaging that resonated with White kids in America and the UK. The Black musicians couldn't do that, but several English kids could .......and made the Black musicians famous overnight and gave them second careers.
@@hairycrocs5038 you have no idea what you’re talking about keep your mouth shut
REALLY?? 528 THUMBS DOWN?? Sadly, no understanding of what TRUE CLASSIC MUSIC was. No comprehension of REALITY. NO one will EVER AGAIN see this generation. I am thankful I grew up in the 60's as a teen and embraced an ERA never to be seen again.
Too many ignorant people out there that don’t know fantastic music!
Man, this bluesy sound is absolutely amazing.
In my opinion Jack Bruce was one of the best bassist ever!!!!
You should hear him play bass on Zappa's "Apostrophe" title track
Agree
I think 🤔 best weegie ,edd Collins quite acceptable x
RIP Ginger - banging the drums with Thor and Aule, no doubt.

Sure thing, lil' willy boy. Only if you promise to 'reply' rather than 'post' to me - like the weak, small, cowardly, under the radar chicken shit thief in the night clown you are. That's right. There are no notifications of your pissy idiocy in either my UA-cam inbox or the email account linked to it. You know this as well as I do, ya little weasel turd:)
And you've been caught with your maroon polyester trousers down...
dindodonaght Another pissed off little non entity 'posting' rather than 'replying' to me. And to compound your snivelling cowardice even more, you also blab thinly veiled threats anonymously from the sanctuary of your keyboard. Don't like what I say, princess? Tough shit - it's called free speech and there's not a damn thing a petulant little twat like you can do about it. Fuck outtah here, you clown.
My favorite cream song. Soulful and free. Like before the fame, money, and pressure hits a band. Having a good time. And Clapton playing the fool. Awesome.
Man, Jack Bruce is such a legend that he plays bass on guitar
Absolute!
It was a fender bass six
Totally ☺
Yes, that is a six-string bass guitar.
More confusingly, George Harrison played a standard guitar (a Fender Telecaster in rosewood) for the bassline on The Beatles' "Two of Us" using the lower four strings.
Wicked perm Eric!
Leave him alone! He's a sensitive geezer!
Jimi Hendrix
"what kinda fool are you"... my dad got me hip to this song... love it...
3 Perfect parts thrown together producing some of the best sounds to ever exist, amazing!!!
An epic 60's rock band that played epic 60's rock music. Yep, This song " Strange Brew " is a jewel of the 60's scene. A classic rock mix of rock n roll, blue's and psychedelia.
Since I had listened to it during my 15 years in 1967 I cannot forget it was and it remains for me a magic song.
Would really like to know how you stayed in 1967 for 15 years?
RIP the great late ginger baker.
I LOVE this song so much! What an absolutely incredible band They were!
Jack looks about 16 and an absolute original. I miss those times, and I absolutely adored the Cream.I was then a very young 21. I probably looked younger than Jack!!
This is so good.....
Am a Cream fan big time !!!:)
one of cream,s best I just love Eric Clapton,s hair......

LadyLake Music I know I can’t believe i was the first to respond to something like this
And now Ginger. The wind of time...
In 1968 I was 16 and already listening to Cream. Clapton a musical genius even then.
In 1988 I was 16 and Cream was my favorite band and Strange Brew was my favorite song.
I don't care if it's lip synced, I have to watch this at least 2x a day.
Love the guy sitting on the stage at the beginning of this video. He was so digging the music he almost forgot to move away. Now that is mesmerizing music.
Nah, he had just given Clapton some pain medication
They're only three .. but performing like a complete band. Simply marvellous men as well as the song.

Such an Incredible time in music! I feel extremely fortunate to have been a part of the music scene in the 60s and 70s! Such amazing talent in one group, so hard to lose these Incredible musicians.
if you like this you might like my brothers music. his name is Stu Morris
My all time favourite Cream song ❤ Brilliant guitar solo.
Yeah that solo puts a smile om my face every time …. For some 50 years now
Some say the solo is lifted from Albert King yet so what?
I never get tired of this song. One of the best grooves!
If you don't watch out it will stick to you.words of wisdom!
What a band. Eric just did what umpteen thousands of players try to do every day - a blues solo.
He was better than anyone at this activity, IMO.
Well, besides for the guy he was trying to imitate. Albert King!
Ha! You beat me to it! The solo starts with a direct quote from an Albert King solo on 'Can't You See What You're Doing To Me'. Good call! He's got it all over Albert hair-wise, though. @@bruzrkgro-malog2953
Clapton's hair is interesting .
This one is definitely my favorite one! Bravo Mister Ginger Baker, thanks for music.
These guys were the real fucking deal. They got fucked up on that strange brew and sang us into a ride through the cosmos. Can't get enough of this track.
Aint that the truth ☺ Ooh yeah, this is, well, groovy ☺
The Host deserves an award for the sexiest dance moves from the previous century!
That was Dave Lee Travis
Favorite video of Clapton by far. His stance, swagger, eye contact and crazy hair. He's a fancy boy! No, he's a superstar. Watched this video 50 x's so far.
I played this at a guitar recital during my second year of music studies, when I was 15. I was soooo damn nervous, but it went well. Still love this song.
So funky!!! The legendary Cream are always amazing to listen to!!!!
I love how the host gets up and hands it off to band. The head nods...
A hairless Dave Lee Travis if I am not mistaken.
One of the greatest songs of all time.❤❤❤
RIP Ginger Baker..A Legend Drummer💙💙💙
best band ever xx what talent between these awesome guys .......
I love to see Clapton so young! Cream was a great band and their songs are all still classics today. I just wish they had of hung out for a few more albums.
Cream was too good to last
They had two managers who worked at cross-purposes to the band. The band members got fed up and decided to stop the nonsense and move on. Pity.
Back when Clapton was rocking that sweet ass SG
This reminds me of growing up in the late 80's/early 90's with my dad's Garrard turntable playing Cream, Hendrix, Who, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Ten Years After nearly every weekend 😍🎸🥁🎹🎙️🎵
Love the scarf & cape action
happy birthday ginger . holy crap never thought you'd make it this far. bet you didn't either. love you much man.

Dig this: Ginger was a successful jazz player and he put Cream together. The reason his drum fills are so warm is bc he was still using calfskin heads when all other rock drummers switched to plastic heads.
Its amazing how good Ginger play the drums asleep.

So utterly cool. Note the SPACES between the notes, the SPACES for the drum fill. Yea, these guys had it all worked out. Pity no one uses their example today.
