Ferguson is an apologist and enabler for a full blown fascist, Donald J. Trump, who in January 2020 tried to carry out an insurrection, perhaps the greatest crime ever committed in America. And Ferguson starts off by saying that Harris is the illegitimate candidate in this Presidential election. That is sick beyond words.

The beautiful thing about podcasts like this is that- is that it reveals the vast population of people starving for ideas and intellectual conversation.

    • @DrCruel

That's on purpose. The ruling managerial elite has been deliberately acting to silence free debate. These conversations influence what the public believes and thinks about, which interferes with how this elite is terraforming the new social fabric to their benefit, so they are making a considerable effort to stifle and control it.

I am a 73 year old American. I was a defence contractor working in Townsville for the Australian Army when I met him. We have talked a couple of times since he ask that question. I did let him know that I didn't agree on that description of the situation in Gaza. For some crazy reason I thought most people in the UK and Australia were very wise like these two fellows. After working in Australia for a year I realized they are just like the US. Many misinformed by their news media. They don't have the ability determine they are being lied to either. What a shame.

Well, I don't think one has to be conservative to vote for Trump, or see what damage the lefties are doing in the West.
Many libs refuse to see it. A lot of them really do have what is called "TDS". I have examples of it.
I have always considered myself independent, lib, or centrist, depending on the issues...These days if one veers anywhere "right of center" or left, there are plenty of people who automatically label one "right wing", or make the oh, so typical quip..."You should stop watching Fox News."
I have had that stated to me on occasion, and I rarely watch Fox News.
      It's a condescension of course.
It's a common reflex in these parts of the U.S.

This is such a professional, intelligent & interesting conversation with so much to relate to & agree with - a delightful discourse not frequently encountered in mainstream media , if at all - so hats off to Sir Niall Ferguson & John Anderson ❤❤👍👍👏👏

American here. The previous Trump presidency was great and my family will vote for Trump in 2024! Trump is a disrupter, he had the energy to shake things around and loves America! He will be in the White House!

Well done John on your commitment to your podcast and UA-cam channel. It is great to see in your guest Niall an academic with a balanced and objective view of life and politics.
The damage that the antisemitic and anti-Israel riots on US universities has caused to the reputation of those universities cannot be underestimated. It is welcome to learn that his initiative in establishing a new university of Austin is moving forward.

From listening to Niall Ferguson's views on Israel I think that John Mearsheimer's analysis and argument is far more compelling. In our search for the truth an in-depth debate between Ferguson and Mearsheimer would undoubtedly be very interesting and thought provoking!

@@jean-marcducommun8185Mearsheimers argument was based on the idea that NATO was expanding eastward and so threatening Russia. This meant and could only refer to the acceptance of Macedonia as a member. What sort of a threat was that …?

You should not compare JM and NF. JM is a scholar of international affairs, explains how the world works. NF, in this context, is an ideologue, his main point is that we are better than the other, we deserve winning . In JM world there are no bad and good guys, in NF world the west deserves certain things and it has a special role to play

@@aghassimkrtchyan6323 This is precisely accurate! So glad others see both JM and NF for who and what they are. JM is a brilliant analyst of what is going on, and of the national interest. NF is values and ideologically driven in his analysis.
