honestly the most heartbreaking part of this movie to me.. was in the end credits. when they show the stories of all the past black men who died. especially the lil boy. i know that story so well. he’s the youngest person to ever get the death penalty. he was only 14, and was so small they had to use a stack of books to make him reach the helmet. just truly truly evil.

(sorry if I spell his name wrong overall) but bruh his story was so sad, I'm a 14-year black boy rn, so to see other black boys that are around the same age as me dying, is traumatizing for me and makes me worried something could happen to me. but his story was so sad, I hope he rest in peace.

He was a small, fragile lil kid. No way in hell did they really think he'd take out two girls by himself. They just wanted him as a scapegoat as compensation without looking for the real killer.

I really wished Tony Todd had more screentime cause while this movie tries to say there’s more than one candyman there can only be one icon that is associated with that name and that is Tony Todd he is candyman such an iconic figure in horror.

I love this movie sm, one of my favorite horror movies of all time! The direction, cinematography, acting, atmosphere.... ALL PERFECTION

The end credits with all the "candyman" stories is so deep and painful but its our history our present our future
I love how 60% of this movie is about how struggling artists have no safety net when they get sick and no one can help you not even your friends 'cause we're all poor, none of us can afford health insurance and the situation is so dire no one is even willing to acknowledge the man falling apart in front of them.
I swear you ALWAYS make my Sundays ten times better. Those thirty minutes are always a treat! THANK YOU

I didn't expect this movie to smack me upside the head and then have such a deep message at the end. Me being black, I didn't understand why in the first one Candy went after his own community, but the deaths in this one made sense. Gurl Jordan Peele is on a roll!
what did it mean if you don’t mind explaining?
To me, both the original and new Candyman symbolize and reflect the black struggle and also the way the black community treats and disregards one another. There’s double meanings in both movies. But albeit more layers in the new one.
I loved this movie, but the credits made me cry, weep, and wail... especially when I learned about the true story of child that was put on death row. It haunts me to this day.

That comment about the first one being more elegant is on point. It really does have a more dramatic or mythological flair to it. This one is rawer---angrier, you could say. Nonetheless, they're both very powerful films, each in their own right.

I hope you watched the little film that played during the credits. It was so powerful to watch the history of Candyman and how he had to fight against oppression throughout history.

I was a bit disappointed with this because I wanted more Tony Todd!! His portrayal of Candyman is so iconic and I loved the first two films! It has just always felt like his character has never received the credit it deserved and I was really expecting this reboot to give him more props! Loved watching your reaction though!!! ❤
