He didn't seemed comfortable being there. Ryan Murphy knows the toll these rolls take on his mental health and he keeps pressuring to do them anyway. And Ryan is infamously toxic, if anyone deserves the backlash, it's him.
I mean we get it but he got the award for his acting and she should be grateful this is the first time They mentioned the victims it's like the series was their voice I get that you're going through a lot but you're not the only one suffering and Ryan Murphy did ask 20 relatives of victims family but no one replied him that's why he trusted his source and took 3 years to make this series I know she's hurt and all but she should cheer them up for telling the story and the story they told wasn't all all about Tony it was two victims Jeremiah Weinberger and Tony Hughes they merged them like Glenda Cleveland and Pamela bass I know you are suffering and I wish we could take away that pain but it's the truth and yes they all should stop making documentaries about him we saw enough
Her accusations are absolutely misguided. She could discuss the media's fixation with serial killers and true crime without focusing on and accusing Peters, who is an ACTOR, and has nothing to do with her claims. Furthermore, her son's story is on public record, and does not require her permission to tell it. It would seem she wants attention, and is drawing the wrong kind to herself, let alone her son's memory.
I understand their feelings but… society is never not going to be rude and careless when it comes to stories of someone’s demise. Ever see people looking at a car accident but not stopping to help? That said, the victims families didn’t have to watch it. I don’t know why any of them would. Odd to me. You can always choose to scroll away. What about the Ortega one recently… Fall Out? If my child was murdered in a school shooting I probably wouldn’t press the play button.
U think the families could’ve stopped what happens to the victims, the shows shouldn’t have been made in the first place, and they probably watched it to see how Netflix would portray dahmer, either in a sympathetic way or someone who murdered and ate their family members
My heart ached for the Hughes family and their loss. There is no way without this series that millions like me really would have went thru these emotions. Definitely I'm sure millions would've felt for a mother's loss or looked at Tony as their own son. At least I did. I think she must pacify her with the fact that Tony wouldn't have lived one more time in the hearts of millions but for this series.
Shirley Hughes had a problem with the movie Dahmer that was made a few years after it all happen. I agree it was too soon THEN and wasn’t very successful….Now 32 years has passed and she still feels the same way… She would rather have this tragedy locked away and never spoken of again… I know she is hurting..but she needs realize this story is not the Tony Hughes story, it’s the Jeffrey Dahmer story. If she’s still alive 30 years from now she would still feel the same way… “No movie” This story needs to be told so everyone can be aware of their surroundings and the kind of people out there in the world so people like Dahmer can be stopped. She’s not the only parent who’s child was murdered. Yes 32 years has passed and it’s time for a Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Evan Peters is just a Hollywood actor who played a character about a serial killer and just so happened won a award. I’m pretty sure he meant no harm.. he’s just someone who’s trying to make a living… as for the families victims.. I’m so sorry for your losses..
I can understand learning about serial killers and understanding their mindsets and motivations for doing it but in a way they have seemed to romanticize being a serial killer in Hollywood, it’s something that makes people relive the trauma of what happened to their loved ones
@@misterpickles9810 romanticize: deal with or describe in an idealized or unrealistic fashion; make (something) seem better or more appealing than it really is. What he did to his victims shouldn’t be something that should be made more appealing to pull in more of an audience to watch some mid show. You may think romanticize meant that they were making him a sex appeal or something which I understand could be misconstrued from the word itself but it isn’t about making him a hopeless romantic or overall an attractive person
Didn't this story helped those who didn't know about him & the victims? They got to know how he was, and now they will be careful as well for the future. The victims families are getting known and what they have gone through! Didn't Glenda in the show, wanted the victims' stories to stay alive? Story like that are needed to be told too. It is also a study.
It is not our job to sympathize with the grief of the victims and blame Evan. All we have to do is look out and care about our neighbors so that this tragic murder doesn't happen. It is sad that people only think about the victim's sadness and do not think about the reason and significance of the production.
IF U DON’T LIKE THE TITLE DON’T PRESS PLAY. I guess we can no longer make moves and shows anymore. It’s always negative when something amazing and important is made. Evan did an amazing job. He talked about how hard it was for him but he also showed everyone how unfair society can be.
If they have not, I’m sure some may fight for money. just reading all the negative comments makes me feel sick. He is an actor. No one said it is something easy to watch, just don’t press play!!!!
They don't need permission to tell a story that's public domain, and I love how one way or another it's always about money. And serial killers have existed forever, and likely always will; not telling these stories will not end the so-called "obsession."
I love Evan Peters as an actor, he's incredibly talented and is just a very good actor. But the whole Jeffrey Dahmer series made me incredibly angry and awarding somebody for portraying a serial killer whose family is still very much alive is just beyond un-empathetic
I know he got paid & won an award; but Peter's knowing more about the victims now, I wonder if Evan Peter's has 2nd thoughts about playing this part? It would be awesome if part of the profit went to the families. I know money won't bring the victims back, but it could help the families.
He was a form of. H h Holmes in ahs hotel. Hh holmes was a bad dude and in the first ahs he was the ghost of a school shooter. Playing Dahmer was not any different. He won for his ability in acting which was very much warranted because he got that persona down like no one else could.
I don't think he did it from a place of apathy, people just assume so much when they really don't know the whole story. He even said it himself that he really thought about it but he thought that it was important that people understood what really happened with Jeffrey Dahmer and how the system constantly failed minorities. I don't think he was aware that the families weren't contacted until recently, which would explain why he is nervous. I'm pretty sure Ryan doesn't communicate everything to him, which sucks because now people are just bullying this man nonstop because he's an easy target, already gets made fun of for the type of roles he plays
Evan I'ma tell you this don't give af about if their but hurt if they were in you're position about wanting to do the rool of Dahmer I'm preety sure they'd do it some people are just dumm can't see a brighter picture of it all you helped us all see what kind of true people can be out in the world and for that I am thankful.. soo thankful that I can't trust anyone .. ❤️🙌
I will actually never understand why would the families want to be credited world wide for the death's of their members in these cases. Its like they want to get famous or want money on the bases of their family member's death... I mean, I am not saying don't grieve, everyone does, but why do they want to be reminded again and again and again that a serial killer killed them? They said the name of the victims..the whole world knew who the victims were, we feel extremely sad for them, its not like after this show people sided with Dahmer, like I am genuinely asking, why do the family members want to be credited for it. Poor Evan, he is getting hate for his great acting. His mental health was already not well, and after doing the show he got in depression and now people are hating on him because of the mistake the makers did by not giving them credit
Fr the case is literally part of the history like come on people will keep making film adaption of the Dahmer's case and the Dahmer's families did give the victims families money before, what else do they need? More million bucks? Lmao I don't understand I'm serious
He won because he is a amazing actor. And he deserved this award. I don't think he intentionally left the families and victims out of his speech. He has a amazing heart. He deserved this award. Sad people died but if they want recognition and money maybe they should write a book tell the loved one story. Don't come at Evan.
No hate to Evan Peters, if he hadn’t taken the job, I feel that could have put strain on his career and relationship with Ryan Murphy, but I agree this show did not need to be made. I don’t like how it romanticizes and sexualizes Dahmer. I was fully prepared to have Evan Peter’s babies, like I was a die hard fan and simp until I was Dahmer and I just can’t look at him the same. I know he was just acting, but like that show broke me from simping lol.
@@Jahmai203 I know I expected Evan to be attaked in someway that's why he was so down arriving to the golden globe's and in his speech. I agree the story is important to keep alive because of how racist and homophobic the police department was at that time in Milwaukee that lead them to not do their job and stop dahmer which is what evan meant in his speech when he said he hopes some good came out of it that people pay attention and never let something like that happen again. I'm not surprised its Tony's mom that said something because she always has been vocal and other family members of the victims will attack Evan soon because she did first but I understand thier pain so I can't blame them.
Social media can never just be happy for these amazing actors and actresses. It takes hard work playing the role of a serial killer. He did an amazing job and deserves that award. It is very unpleasant and sad but this Netflix series wanted to show how unfair society was and why he was able to get away with so many murders. If u enjoyed watching this you should check out the Ted Bundy movie. Zack did an amazing job playing his role.
So basically if they were compensated/ paid 💰they would be fine with there son being exploited? This is the reasons why these families get PAID no attention is because it’s always about money and never about the purpose
❤❤❤❤❤ he is an amazing actor. I have always studied Serial Killers and he did an amazing job. I have watched the series over 100 times. He won bc he gave Dahmer 100 percent. Zack plays Ted Bundy, I can only imagine what they say about him. I can’t begin to understand the hate and hurt for the families but please understand the reason why this series was made was to show the monster Dahmer was.
People don't understand that Hollywood doesn't care about your feelings. It's about money and making money even if it's making money off the backs of dead people and their families
Zac Efron plated Ted Bundy there was no outrage. Crime shows have actors re-enact his crimes all the time but the victims families were on mute . So stop with the picking and choosing when to be outraged
Thank the families for what? ...your kids dying NO, he could have said towards the victims and the families im eternally sorry and your in my thoughts daily.
I understand and most importantly RESPECT the family's hurt and frustration. They have every right to say how they feel since a loved was literally MURDERED by the character Evan was playing. But things like this will continue to happen, so I hope they can find some peace and ignore the things that trigger their pain.
I think honestly that they should have made 17 episodes. Each episode should have been in honor of each victim, explaining their backstories. Instead we got Jeffrey's backstory and little to no respect for the victims and families. Unbelievable
Some people are slow. The award was specifically for his performance, not for him playing dahmer.he had nothing to do with what dahmer did and to feel some type of way towards him because of a role is sad and weird.the misplaced hate and anger shouldn’t be towards him.what exactly did he do besides be a good actor.I understand they’re hurt but coming for this man when he did nothing wrong is crazy.also, getting mad because he didn’t say rest in peace to the victims during his speech is ridiculous,it was his moment so why spend his moment talking about dahmer and his victims when he was awarded based of his performance and his performance only.him doing the role itself showed how much he cared and wanted to help tell the story of what dahmer did.I’m pretty sure he wasn’t proud of who he was portraying but he was proud of his acting and being able to tell the story and keep in mind that it’s not a easy role to do.
@@jackparson4692many people have done.. it’s not like he actually killed people. i don’t know man but he went through a lot to play that role and even had a therapist on set with him .. i think he deserves an award at least
I will fight this lady, that role traumatized him and messed him up. I get it the actual Dahmer was a monster and he did HORREDOUSLY HORRIBLE things to all his victims, but Evan is far from any of that, he is sweet, kind and innocent! It's hard to cope when you lose a family member in such a horrible way, but if it really is that hard then why would they pay any attention to it?! Just don't watch it or read about it.
This is so annoying. I get it, but there is no reason whatsoever to come for an actor. It was not okay to make this series without the familys of the victims permission, but that’s not his fault. He was simply awarded for being a great actor. That’s it. That has nothing to do with the backstory of the making of the series and the lack of respect the makers/netflix showed by making it in the first place without making contact.. That’s horrible but there are other people responsible for that, not Evan Peters. I don’t think this is okay. Why do people hate him so much? He portrayed a person only, he isn’t that person. People are projecting the hate someone else deserves onto him, which isn’t fair. It’s important to understand the difference. He deserves an award for his talent, which this was about and nothing else. I’m happy for him.
If the families didn’t want them to make the series then their wouldn’t be a series but obviously the families had some kind of input because the names are authentic, you can’t just portray people and not have to pay for it, but now that it’s a hit I feel some people want more than they bargained for.
These victims' families should be more mature and realistic. Evans won the award for his acting skills, there's nothing wrong! They should really move on and get on with life, it's been over 4 decades!
@kellycreates3310 I mean, you gotta get over it at some point. It's been 3 decades since he died. Condemning an actor for not apologizing to the victims' families. It's hogwash that she's just trying to get 2 more minutes of fame from her child's death 32 years ago.
Evan was uncomfortable and probably couldn’t even think straight. He doesn’t do well with public speaking. Doesn’t mean he didn’t care about the victims. In his interviews about playing Dahmer he has said how the police failed to stop Dahmer multiple times.
I wonder when Mrs. Hughes will go after all the youtubers who made videos AND SHORTS talking about her and her son's story, monetizing it and making money off their story......... **cough**cough** 😏😏😏
I like Evan Peters. I think he is a really good actor. That being said, it was difficult for me to look past my love for him in this performance. Please don’t get angry with me. I heard or read that they didn’t want to make it like a biography. That’s why there were inaccuracies.
Peters did an amazing job. I love him performance as well an has watched it 100 times. I don’t care if people get offended. he’s not the first to play a Serial Killer an won’t be the last, people just love to point out the negative.
So, i just want to understand ! One victim's family condamned the award ceremony, criticizes the Golden Globes for honoring Peter's portrayal of Dahmer to keep the obsession going, media's hyperfixation and glorification of serial Killers and it's a shame that people took their tragedy for making money .But why the victim's family complains about the money they dont received or the tribute they dont have to the victim's during the acceptance's Peters speech ! Then It's not better for everything that the family of the victim denounces !!! 🤔
It’s not the point he played the role it’s the pint making somebody relive the experience and put a view to the experience that you ain’t even want to visualize y’all will never understood how it feels to lose someone in this manner and for people to keep making money off the death of your child is insane

right lol it honestly shouldn't be shocking since Dahmer's case was part of the history, film adaptation series would happen .
Lol it doesn't take to be a genius to understand why he won, He won because of his Talent in portrayal in the role. They need to shut up.
Evan peters is an amazing actor and is extremely talented. He should alot of praise for his role. Well done evan. Amazing work.
Demon Is already gone...and Evan portrait it so well that I don't feel any empathy for this psycho killer...except his family..and victims family..
CAR ACCIDENT , SERIAL KILLER HUGE ASS DIFFERENCE
Not Peter's fault, they should know that the award was not glorifying Dahmer but Evan's ability to act.
The guy is a actor and has no dealing with what producers do he auditioned and got paid to act that’s it.
He’s an insanely good actor. Sells every role
I feel SO bad for all the victims family's for real...but evan peters is just such a good actor, ❤ (and my husband 😂❤)
It is not our job to sympathize with the grief of the victims and blame Evan. All we have to do is look out and care about our neighbors so that this tragic murder doesn't happen.
It is sad that people only think about the victim's sadness and do not think about the reason and significance of the production.
the creators didnt consult the families before the show was made
this is such a strange take.
The production is garbage
IF U DON’T LIKE THE TITLE DON’T PRESS PLAY.
I guess we can no longer make moves and shows anymore. It’s always negative when something amazing and important is made.
Evan did an amazing job. He talked about how hard it was for him but he also showed everyone how unfair society can be.
never in my life would i think someone would say dont sympathize with the victims....this is a gross take
I wonder if the victims families had gotten money from the show, would they be even opening their gobs right now?
If they have not, I’m sure some may fight for money. just reading all the negative comments makes me feel sick. He is an actor. No one said it is something easy to watch, just don’t press play!!!!
@@JB-ki5zz
It would probably be offensive if they downplayed the crimes of Jeffrey dahmer
@@misterpickles9810 fr lmao they just want to swallow some more money at this point
And evan don't even have anything to do with Dahmer's case so why is he getting all these damn hates?
No doubt Evan will be devastated by this.
Yeah he probably should have gave a heartfelt shoutout to the victims and the families. She probably wouldn't have said anything if he did.
They probably would have attacked him anyway you can't make anybody happy
@@samanthadavis2892 That's true. I agree. There were a lot of mixed feelings about this series, unfortunately.
@@JB-ki5zz I don't disagree with u JB.
Hes just an actor. People put too much importance on the portrayal of somebody.
So basically if they were compensated/ paid 💰they would be fine with there son being exploited? This is the reasons why these families get PAID no attention is because it’s always about money and never about the purpose
Why aim on him..what did he do,he was appreciated for his craft,he has nothing to do with anyone of the victim.
When your acting is that good at playing Darmah everyone hates you 😂
sounds like shes Projecting
STOP ATTACKING EVEN PETERS! Man I hate people smhhhhh
Thank the families for what? ...your kids dying NO, he could have said towards the victims and the families im eternally sorry and your in my thoughts daily.
What a crying shame. Proceeds should have gone to the victims families without question.
The quicksilver
Oh so it would've been ok to do all those things if you got money?
Evan is my grandson's doppelganger in that movie 😮
I understand and most importantly RESPECT the family's hurt and frustration. They have every right to say how they feel since a loved was literally MURDERED by the character Evan was playing. But things like this will continue to happen, so I hope they can find some peace and ignore the things that trigger their pain.
I think honestly that they should have made 17 episodes. Each episode should have been in honor of each victim, explaining their backstories. Instead we got Jeffrey's backstory and little to no respect for the victims and families. Unbelievable
Coming at evan is crazy. he didnt do anything. honestly i feel bad for him, hes been playing pyschopaths for 15 years.
people are so annoying. mad asf they ain’t got the talent that evan has🥱🤷🏼♀️
Some people are slow.
E nor go better for their mama 😡
what has evan done though i don't understand
he played a serial killer
@@jackparson4692 yea thats his job🤦♀️
Evan Peters as an actor was portraying a real life Serial killer telling true life events , how is that his fault seriously are you kidding me OMG!!
It’s hard to move on when your own child is killed.
@kellycreates3310 I mean, you gotta get over it at some point. It's been 3 decades since he died. Condemning an actor for not apologizing to the victims' families. It's hogwash that she's just trying to get 2 more minutes of fame from her child's death 32 years ago.
Honestly smh....
Evan was uncomfortable and probably couldn’t even think straight. He doesn’t do well with public speaking. Doesn’t mean he didn’t care about the victims. In his interviews about playing Dahmer he has said how the police failed to stop Dahmer multiple times.
I disagree with the idea of the Dhamer series serving as a platform to sensationalise jeff Dhamer and glorify him.
People always wanna hate
Im a sociopath, i saw nothing wrong with the show. But then again i wouldn't find anything wrong with it.
I wonder when Mrs. Hughes will go after all the youtubers who made videos AND SHORTS talking about her and her son's story, monetizing it and making money off their story......... **cough**cough** 😏😏😏
“makes sick people like dahmer thrive on the fame” bruh is dead???? 💀
Some good did come out of it... He won the golden globe.
Peter did his thang when he was acting the role of dehmer I started to believe he was dehmer
I thought Ryan did a good job telling the victims side. I would want that out for people to see. The victims story. I feel this is about money.
Hollywood should stop telling stories about certain figures, which run the risk of glorifying them.
It’s not the point he played the role it’s the pint making somebody relive the experience and put a view to the experience that you ain’t even want to visualize y’all will never understood how it feels to lose someone in this manner and for people to keep making money off the death of your child is insane
I think his done playing psychos after this, which he should cause his mental health should come first
She’s so right tho
He is just an actor nothing to do with victims family... Hues mother can not blame him and come on u hv a kid Mr dhamer has a son.... Its a mutual loss
yay
why are people getting offended at the dahmer series and pretty much no one said anything about all of the documentaries before that.. leave him alone
Many actors played serial Killers Till yet. Maybe the difference ist that Evan Peters ist the greatest actor. But thats Not His fault, thats a talent and hard Work also. Love Evan Peters 💕💕💕
Imagine complaining about not getting paid because her son got eaten like WTF 😂😂
He is amazing actor
