- In this video, we're going to be discussing the Polycade, a modern arcade gaming platform designed for both home and commercial use.
Polycade's arcade machines run on their custom, freely downloadable software, which can turn any computer into a video gaming system. These machines can be purchased in either Freeplay mode or pay-to-play mode, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
One of the most intriguing features of the Polycade is how it integrates with your existing Steam library of games. You can access your favorite games and enjoy them in a whole new way on the arcade machine. Additionally, Polycade has their own online game store, leaderboards, and the ability to add your own arcade and console ROMs.
But the question remains: does the Polycade live up to the hype? Is it a viable option for your next DIY arcade project? In this video, Retro Ralph will give you his thoughts on the Polycade, including the pros and cons of the machine and whether it's worth the investment.
So, if you're a fan of arcade gaming and want to know more about the Polycade, be sure to tune in and let's find out if this modern arcade gaming platform is right for you! Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to Retro Ralph's channel for more awesome content like this.

Polycade is pretty cool. I got to interview Tyler a few months ago, super cool to meet him. We found them in Vegas in 2018 and we have Galactic Battleground (game we developed) on the polycade and can be bought by anyone. I think this will be great option for location that want a bunch of games in one place.
I remember you talking about doing a video on this. I think it's a great option. The fact that it easily integrates with Steam is a huge plus.
There it is! I'm going to start building a cab for this, awesome video. Thanks for the heads up 💪🏾 as always.
I’ve been using Retrobat for my home console, this looks really interesting. Definitely going to give this a try.
your Beelink SER5 is busties. awesome vid and review.. The encoder boards are awesome, I'm definitely going to to polycade for my Frankenstein retro gaming list.
Thanks for this overview Ralph - well done with great under-the-hood info!
LOL, I love my Beelinks! I'll have to give this Polycade system a try. Thanks for the heads up on this!
wow seems like a really cool frontend for your arcade stuff!
I recommend going with Xinmo arcade encoders, they work great and cost about 1/3 the cost of the Polycade ones.
Very cool! Next time let's see your Pac Man CE skills! It's one of my favorites, loving Pac Man 99 too.
I used xbox360 usb encoders and made a coinops frontend and the P1 and p2 have stayed the same so far but when using other encoders they do eventually swap themselves on a regular basis.
thank you so much. you give so much information. i see the passionate about the arcade and showing us so many ways to make our own
That sweater, Bro, giving me nightmares. (Looking for it now!)
That's cool 😎 👍 I'll definitely keep this in mind .

Great video. I would love to see a video of you setting the diy up to a cab. I’m sure a lot of us would appreciate it.
How well does this map the trakball? I'm looking for a good interface for emulating Marble Madness on a home arcade.
I have this on one of my guttted arcade1ups, it's pretty sick! I just need to install the encoders
