- This is a Fox Hunt Transmitter that I created using a lot of inspiration from this video tinyurl.com/yw... that was created from information the Whitecourt Amateur Radio at wcar.ca/pg/fox... and also from this information about using a Cell Phone to transmit recorded voice tinyurl.com/32....
I added an Adafruit Sound Board to the Whitecourt AR example so that Morris Code or Voice transmission can be sent.
The Arduino code that includes my modifications can be seen here; tinyurl.com/4k...
There website is not active anymore that i can find. Thanks for haveing the files available
Got to say I want to see an actual schematic. I've been scratching my head with this picture based and paint drawing. Mine won't work, locks up the radio (definitely an RF issue).
I'll see what I can do.
Why use a relay to key the Baofeng when a NPN transistor will work and be much smaller.
I followed the construction of one already made. The only difference is I added the sound board for voice.
if you fingerpoke PTT/ SK1/ while powering on a $10 BF888S, it'll Xmt intermittently on the programmed channel. Way cool. BYO audio. Happy hunting!
Is there a way to change the speed of the CW? say 10 or 15 WPM?
You can adjust the interval integer value, in my code, which I didn't change from the code provided to me it is set to 60.
"int interval = 60; //length of time for one dot - basic unit of measurement; one interval occurs between each dot or dash; dash is equivalent to 3 dots; 7 dots between words"
Thanks for project. I got my working, just not as expected. The voice on DTMF 2 sends only the first time you start up the arduino from a cold boot. Then the voice only sends once on the first transmit then on the second it is carrier only. The sound board is not triggered. Additionally, I have to push DTMF 1 after selecting DTMF 4, 8 or 9. If I press 4, 8, or 9 by them selves nothing happens.
Hmmm, not sure there.
Love me some Arduino. Thanks Bill
Love that modulated CW.
Every so often we get some cranky old timer telling us on our Sunday MCW learning net how we can't be using MCW on a repeater.
If that was true the timed repeater identifier would be illegal. LOL
Now on a very narrow part of the beginning of 2 meters that is CW only no MCW allowed. After 144.100 it's fine. :)
Ask the grumpy old guy where it says that in part 95 of the rules . It doesnt say that in the rules he is thinking about the band plan and that is not the rules and he is full of it! There are always those who have no Idea about what they are talking!
Hi can this be done using a NANO board?
I would imagine so.
@@bc65925 what code would I use? Because I tried the original version from the creator but it won’t activate ptt but if I hold ptt myself it works
Not exactly sure what could be the issue. Did you use the 2_2 on my Instructables? Is the relay operating?@@plproductions8887
If the relay is not operating you might try another pin for the output.
@@bc65925 so I used the original code and wire diagram I haven’t tried your code but the relay turns on light goes red but ptt doesn’t activate
That's just too damn cool
I knew you'd like it.
Do you have to DTMF it every time, or does it repeat every so often till you turn it off?
@@duff8402 Repeats till you turn it off with exception of the 5, 6, and 7.
