🤔I thought of Dark Hawk at first glance, with a Gundam/Storm Trooper face. Welp, I’m today years old finding out about this comic. You had me at 😆 GUYVER!!!
I was just hoping he wasnt gay like they do all the other characters nowadays, nothin wrong with it its just not alot of masculine black characters imo
I think there's a lot of straight male black characters. In DC, there have been 3 black Green Lanterns by now, then there's Mr. Terrific, Batwing, Steel, Kid Flash (Wallace West), Lucius Fox. In Marvel, there's Warmachine, the ultimate Nick Fury and Spider-Man, and I believe a whole lot of others. Then there's the whole of Milestone including Icon and Static Shock (which is also a DC property I think?). Oof, i just realized I don't know that many black comicbook characters. I only know Marvel and DC, admittedly, so the only gay black male I know of is the black Aqualad from Young Justice. I'd genuinely appreciate a list if you have any.
@Hell Spawn It's called storytelling. I'm not sure which female characters you think DC forced to be bisexual but here are the only ones I can think of and why thinking they should not be bisexual is unimaginative and dumb: 1. Diana, Wonder Woman - grew up on an island that had no men. Regardless of what you think, her being attracted to the same sex would only be normal in the real world. 2. Kate Kane, Batwoman - she's a completely different character from the original Batwoman, Kathy Kane, and her being a gay soldier who was relieved from duty for being gay made for a good story for most people. She's not Kathy Kane, the cartoonish character created to show people Batman wasn't gay with gadgets that look like regular feminine products, such as a purse and a lipstick. That's all I can think of and I don't see why you'd think keeping characters static against normal would be better. Also, the fact that you don't support pride says everything about why I know there's no way I can change your mind like if you said you were an antivaxxer or flat-Earther but oh well.
@Hell Spawn I don't see why you think my points were defeated. I never said that you said their being bisexual is unimaginative and dumb; I said here is why thinking Wonder Woman and Batwoman should not be bisexual is unimaginative and dumb. The subject "why thinking they should not be bisexual", where they refers to the examples I chose, is what I was referring to be unimaginative and dumb. I was the one who was saying that something was unimaginative and dumb, I wasn't putting those words in your mouth. I was trying to make a point based on the only information that you gave by saying: 1. Diana, or any woman for that matter, CAN BE GAY and you or anybody else cannot say otherwise. It doesn't matter if being gay is a matter of being born that way or not, it just means your opinion doesn't matter on whether they should be or not; and 2. The character of Batwoman was reimagined to be gay and that's okay. The word reimagine covers creating a new character replacement for another. I chose Batwoman as the second example to cover all bases since you said DC is changing their characters' sexualities. And since you mentioned religion as your only reason for not supporting LGBTQ pride, I'd like to say that you are also telling me that you don't own your opinions; that you're just saying things the way others are telling you to. So doesn't that basically prove what you referred to as my "assumption" that you're unreasonable?
I enjoyed this book. I even read the Pilot issue of the character that was released back in 2010. I have a character that's also named "Stealth" in a comic I'm creating. When I saw the news of this book being released, I decided to check it out to see if I'm not copying his work. When I read the first issue, I felt like I incorporated at least 10% of this book's premise into my story, so I have to go back and rework a bunch of stuff.
Actually, stealth debuted in like 2010 I think. There was that top cow "Pilot Season" thing they used to do when they'll put out like 6 one shots and fans would vote on which one they would like to see turned into a series.
Well when I go to my local comic book shop here in the next couple days I’m gonna try to order issues one and two it sounds like it’s my cup of tea and from the art it looks like my cup of tea as well. Thanks for the recommendation
