Modding characters has always been tricky for me. I always aim for consistency between named and unnamed npcs without making everyone look like a supermodel, you know?
I feel High Poly NPC Overhaul does a good job of making bandits and other radiant NPCs look good. Then you can overwrite it with specific NPC mods to make named NPCs look exactly the way you like.
@@chrispeacock1257 Weird. I always use UNP combined with WICO and other hair and eye retexture mods to fine-tune that experience. I don't like how shiny they are tho
@@PigMachineSenpai It should be compatible with most 'normal' armor mods, it is similar to UNP so in most cases you should be able to have UNP-dedicated mods on DG. And it is compatible with WICO.

What a coincidence I finally got Skyrim working smoothly with 125+ mods been working on it for a year and an updated body mod review comes out awesome glad to see mod reviews in 2021
125 mods? you must have just started modding, lol. I was a bit over my 500 ( a record for me) in my last install. I’m starting fresh so we’ll see how many I use this time. I might need to upgrade my 1660 though. thank God GPU prices have come down a lot to below MSRP.
@@majorgear1021 120 is the sweet spot, I just finished modding my game, ENB to the max, parallax, physics, 4k textures on everything, movement tweaks, armor with physics and i think is enough for the game to feel like it was released today.
I'm now using Beards of Power - Sons of Skyrim - Npc replacer, Pride of Skyrim AIO male, Bjinn women, and pandorable dragonborn. Quite a mixed collection. But I think I'll be adding the interesting npc mod you show in your list. Now so many npcs covered :)
Also another mod I recommend for PC users (unsure of it's availability on other platforms) LE and SE is "The Ordinary Women", seems to overhaul some of those npc women others might ignore, I use it in combo w Bijin
Ordinary Women was in my previous similar video back in 2018, but Pandorable mods, as for today, cover all the same female NPCs and more - and doing this with a much better aesthetics :)
My problem with these mods is I will like a few of the npc's looks from each of them they are just to subjective and cost so much space. Im still searching for that unicorn mod where I like the look of all the Npc's😂 Great video keep them coming!
You can delete any NPC that you don't like from any mod using xEdit. It's far more simple than I ever imagined. Just don't forget to delete their FaceGens and FaceTints from Data folder. You can go extra mile and even pick NPCs from different mods, then merge them together. That's what I do, but it takes some time.
Uh so for my fellow Xbox peeps unfortunately Males of Skyrim is unavailable, so I found some alternatives:) -Redesigned Males -Pandorables Males 1 & 2 -DX Better Men of Skyrim -Botox for men (only edits hair, no face changes I believe) Hope this helps in any way, happy modding :)

Refined Volkihar IS Serana to me. Just such a unique look and even though she's obviously very beautiful she's not a pristine supermodel. I oddly feel like that matches the original intent and personality of the character more than a lot of the others

I'm playing through Skyrim SE in ultra settings which looks much better than when I played the vanilla with an XBox 360 and cheap tv but the characters are indeed hideous looking. Bethesda really missed an opportunity by releasing SE without any improvement to the hideous looking characters.
This is a good video showcasing some great mods to improve npcs looks. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything that improves player models. Anybody know any good mods for making the player model more pretty and not just npcs. After all, there just isn't much point in making everyone in skyrim beautiful while leaving the dragonborn looking like a goblin with a greatsword (or whatever other weapon).
Hi Sinitar, you are doing a great job with Skyrim mods overview, I pretty much watch only your videos. Can you please advise, if you have a video on how you group your mods for merging. Considering you have 1326 mods, you must have grouped and merged a lot of them. It would be great to know some details on what you merged in your setup, since you always skip that part. I often run into an issue, where merged mods either don't work, or require patches. For example, mods that include animations and sounds-voices, after merging only work partially, like sounds and animations specifically not working. Do you have a video that describes these intricacies of merging the mods, or do you plan to make one any time in the future. Thanks in advance.
Somehow I prefer original Skyrim models - only with better skin textures. Mods which change look so drastically that I have no idea who is who (without reading names) are not for me. Thanks for video anyway. I'm happy to see each of them.
Is it possible to achieve this look on Xbox? This looks incredible. Right now my world looks great but characters faces don't reflect light well, they just seem flat and dull
for me bijin NPC is like looking like something out of place, you know Skyrim takes place in some kind of fantasy early medieval world, I don't think they have hair that good and long which makes you think this NPC comes from some kind of hairdresser
Id recommend using kouleifoh high poly head for characters, so as not to have the dragonborn looking like a wrinkled potato. Because fr what skyrim lack is not more makeup or textures but the capability of rivaling the current triple a character meshes.
The description for Refined Volkihars says incompatible with any Serana specific mod like Pandorable so I am wondering if it's possible to combine the two? Thanks.
Does anyone know if KS Hairdos Lite is Compatible with these mods for Xbox? Really like the look of these mods but I keep getting gray face for Cicero and he's still wearing his hat were in the Pandorable mod he's not?! Trying to pin down what is causing the grey face bug.
Wish we could have more space than the small bit we are given, i always have to sacrifice npc looks or weapons and modded quest in favor for something i want. Then again can't complain much since we are able to do it in the first place but geez.
The best NPC overhauls are not in this list. Try any of Tragedian's NPC and let me know if I'm wrong. Sure, Bijin women are beautiful, but Tragedian achieves almost the same without breaking Skyrim's style, for example avoiding artificial hairstyles like KS Hairdos that not fit well. For men, Tragedian is above anything I tested in Skyrim, handsome but not artificial.
Their NPC overhauls are absolutely great! They went a bit under a radar of mine at the time I was making this video. But their mods are highlighted in my modding guide for a long time since 2022.
Probably you tested more mods than I, but more than 2000 last years I think gives me a good overall perspective of the modding scene. I tried a lot of NPC mods and finally I settled with Tragedian style, that's why I'm so sure about that. @@SinitarG

I have made a list like this but I can't use this set up with all the world graphics and Combat and AI mods so now I just use the jarls overhaul gets the job down there not too pretty busy how I like them. I'm on Xbox just saying And the mod goes well the CC AIO
I've been trying to think of the right mods to make my character and NPC's look good but also a good home with the beds for 6 kids, One master bedroom, One bedroom with at least one or two follower beds, Kitchen, Bathroom, A Garden, And the enchanting, Alchemy, Blacksmith in one room and the place in a very safe location. Im using the white river cottage but there's too many follower beds lol
@@SinitarG So update: just downloaded about a good 60 or 70 so mods for Skyrim and I still have tons of space. A lot of the mods are megabytes or kilobytes. So this makes sense why 5 gigs seems to be enough. Thanks though appreciate it

Models and textures in the same-named mods will be 100% identical. But the shading on the skin will not be the same on XBOX, of course, because XBOX can't have ENB.
Someone please help me I can't find the ai overhaul anywhere even after searching the title and makers directly. I downloaded RS realistic children+elven children standalone but I can't download the patch without the Ai overhaul and I can't find it anywhere

Character overhauls alongside follower mods are my favorite to find and use (even overhauls for SAID follower mods)

I use Kalilies NPCS alongside Pandorables and Bijin mods. They go so well together. As for the men I'm only using ugly males of skyrim.

SR Serana is my fave for her, and Seranaholic is next. SR Serana has a much more gentle youth look to her.... Like a 19 year old princess.

the only reason I play Skyrim mod-less is cuz I'm pretty sure if I downloaded any my laptop would explode.

WICO keeps closest to the vanilla look with great textures. It's my personal fav.
This mod sadly works fine only in LE version. SE version is very broken and you should not use it if you are aimed on a setup with least bugs amount.

My Skyrim folder is around 300gb , minus 15gb for the base game, that equals …oh my god!

Someone please help me I can't find the ai overhaul anywhere even after searching the title and makers directly. I downloaded RS realistic children+elven children standalone but I can't download the patch without the Ai overhaul and I can't find it anywhere

I have no idea how to get that hair. Or the eyes. New to mods and there are soooo many acronyms! Cbbe isn’t compatible with umb ussep ks apachii blah blah blah.... I just want the hair and eyes to work with this.
