Welcome back everyone! Today we are exploring the remnants of a former children’s development center that was also a nursing home. This place had a history of patients mistreatment which eventually led to its demise and permanent closer. Inside we discovered so much left behind to be forgotten about including patients beds, medical equipment and even vaccines. This place was incredible to explore but also very sad, I can’t even imagine what this location was like when it was operating. I hope that not all of the patients were mistreated and most of the. Actually did receive help here. I couldn’t help but notice the immense feeling of dread I had walking around this place. I felt as if someone other with me or near me the entire time, constantly hearing odd out of place noises and even unexplained whistling. It’s not hard to see why a place like this could be haunted with countless records of patient deaths occurring over the years. This was definitely one location I wouldn’t not want to explore alone.
Thanks you so much for dropping by and checking out my channel and video. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I did filming and exploring.

The kids no longer in places like these. Many are now living in group homes. The last developmental center was closed down in early 2020. Fairview in California. I work at a day program for disabled adults. Many of them are living with family. It use to be that most came from group homes and many were first in developmental centers. Most of them were diagnosed with profound mental retardation when actually they are very intelligent and may have autism instead. I really enjoy my work and I am glad these centers are no longer in use. I work on a 4 to one ratio and many of these centers were at the most 20 to 1ratio. More likely to have neglect and abuse.

Just wanted to come in here and say that yes, the fan slowly turning at the end and then coming to a stop was creepy. Like it was an entity trying to make itself known, teasing, like it knows you're recording and was like "Hey, I guess I'll turn this fan a little". Mostly the way it came to a stop was unsettling. Usually those types of fans will turn and then gradually slow down but it just kinda stopped.

I wish I had more time to investigate this place but unfortunately I didn’t. There was a lot of unexplained things happening here the whole time but I guess we’ll never truly know. I definitely agree with you on what you were saying

The enclosed bed at 6:20 is used to keep someone prone to wandering safe in bed at night without restraining their limbs. Normally used for people (not always children) with autism who will always get out of bed and lack a sense of danger. Pedicraft appears to be still in business, or at least their website is still active, and this bed is still available. Other suppliers exist, and some of them nowadays are a bit more decorated than that one.

My Uncle was in the Sonoma state Hospital his whole life. I remember vid=siting him when I was growing up but when my grandparents died no one went to visit and I was so upset. Once I became an adult I tried to locate him only to be told it was closed with no info as to where all these people went. Back in the early 70's when I started going it was really horrible. They were treated badly and I would say verged on torture and it broke my heart to see him there. But at the time the state came in and took your child away from you. My grandparents had 100's of letters begging to get their son back and the state always refused. When I see this place people comment about the beauty of the outside but I just remember many things I saw and was traumatized by. I am still looking for him but I am assuming he is dead by now. But sure would love to know how to find out where and when it happened.
