Zion is the face of Hometown Buffet.
😂
It's very telling that he wasn't even an all-star this year.
And you ain't talking the food, he eating GOOD
How can it not be Victor Wembanyama?? He's 7'3"/7'4", shoots the 3, and has enough handles to do the shamgod & score. He's only 19 in his rookie season.
I think Wemby will be more like Duncan than LeBron or Steph. Regardless of how good he is, he doesn't strike me as someone who wants all that attention and I don't think he'll embrace and feed it the way LeBron or Steph has.
Why do people always think most skilled = face of the NBA? There’s charisma and mass appeal and most importantly how aesthetically looking the players game is on top of production and being in a winning environment.
Like what the poster above me said, Wemby appears to be in the same mold as Tim Duncan or even Hakeem Olajuwon. Great NBA players but were never known to be the face of the league in their era.
@@CBrown Wemby likes attention, even more so on the floor than in interviews. He is a dog on the floor wanting to be the best player on the floor every night.
Because he is 7 foot 4 and shooting below 50%
@@CBrown Duncan was legit named Mr Fundamentals that never showed emotion. He was never gonna be the face of the league. Victor already showed more emotion & flashy plays in his rookie year than Tim did his whole career. Stop the comparisons. Smh
The NBA should focus on encouraging the fans to focus on the teams and the game (like they do in the NFL). Everyone's in the NBA is so skilled nowadays and there's so much parity. This is the time to not have a face and just focus on the fundamentals. Cheer for your hometown team and enjoy the good basketball.
Yes this. Thank you. I call it diversifying the way that the NBA is covered. Individual players and personalities dont work now. Its become detrimental as a matter of fact to the rest of the league. The celebrity player is a dying breed because of the skill and craftmanship of the international players that are coming in. You can have your big personalities but they need to push the actual game and skills of the players way better than they have. Highlight what deserves to be highlighted way more often.
I like this take
Yes exactly. The media should focus on the teams/players doing well instead of just Lebron and Steph.
Whatever side wins, that side will have home court advantage in the finals. Case closed.
Good take. In practice that’s gonna be difficult. The regular season games are unwatchable on a regular basis. Their prime time games underwhelm.
After the 2021 title everyone said it’s Giannis
Antman got everything going in his favor of the US players..he got the game the charisma, great personallity he has it all..the future is bright for him if he start winning and he will at one point fs
I agree there, but he needs to get better in the playoffs or else he is just the NBA Connor McDavid.
Its not all about winning. In order for antman to be the face of the league he needs to play in a big market and at bare minimum be a top 3 player in the league which he is not even top 15
Stay off the blogs with his personal life don't become another Zion
Doe Patrick Mahomes II play in a big market?@@HenryDurth
Too much of a clown imo
Haliburton could be a Steph type exciting player. I think he has a generational/HOF type gift to him already with his passing. He’s only 23. Steph didn’t blow up until he was around 24/25. He also had early health issues. Give him a solid exciting squad and Hali could be a face. I think the In Season Tournament showed he has the flash and personality to be a face. A good playoff run would solidify that
I hope SGA keeps getting better and better. Would love to see him take over the league. Not saying it'll happen but I'd love it
How much better do you think he can get?
@cheerioss-9121 how much better does he have to get to be the next face of the league? Honestly idk lol definitely not a basketball expert. Just a casual fan 😂
Lamelo is better than him
@@fashionlife5348 🤡
@@piratehunterreviews9958 significantly better because he isn’t some elite defender. and his scoring, even though he can drop 30 on a nightly basis doesn’t contribute towards winning directly. I don’t think SGA can be the face of the league at all. He doesn’t have the impact, the personality, nor do I think he’ll win enough.
How about we just wait and see instead of making random predictions.
That MJ catching a cab from the airport was just a sign how sh*tty the Bulls organization was before the greatness of Mike forced them to do better.
💯 % Facts.
The face of the league has typically been a physical specimen. Bill, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Jordan, Lebron. I believe in the short term, it will be Giannis - he has the positive optics, personality, and dominant play style. After, it will probably be Wemby.
I think the next face should be a PG type of player
@@Nate2KK I like your comment. PG with an extroverted personality is what the face should be -- no major school, had to make his way through skill. Maybe Haliburton if he starts winning, but it has to happen organically.
They better start worrying about who is going to pay a subscription fee to watch the NBA. So many young kids don't care about the league. Part of the fun of watching, is talking about it with your friends. And, that was when it was over the air sponsor supported. You really wanna pay to watch games that only you care about, kinda? Plus, you can watch a bunch of stuff online for free that a lot of your friends are discussing.
00s kids are too spoon fed and not disciplined
Adam Silver don't care.
He's got China, & China got The NBA.
Taytum lacks the charisma to be the face, otherwise he pretty much has everything else. Have a feeling that even if they win, either the team or the coach will get more credit
He doesn’t have everything, people push him because he’s American. 45% of the player Luka is.
People don't like the white shoe, bred to be a star types that go to Duke (and other blue blood basketball schools). Guys with Dads that were pros like Tatum, Kyrie, Austin Rivers, etc. Even the Ben Simmons, Andrew Wiggins, Lonzo Ball types (other schools, same type of ex-pro Dads), it's hard for people to get behind them. Their lives and personalities are too planned out and stiff. It's hard for those guys to be the face of the league.
Can you name one thing Tatum's bad at on the court?@@arkadiuszrogala1359
No he is not dominant whatsoever how can he be losing every year
Its hard to be the face of league when there are multiple players his age who are better.
Victor is the next new face of the NBA but the Spurs have to limit the minutes now because he does get tired. He’s still adjusting to the nba game
The answer is Anthony Edwards
Jayson Tatum is the best player in the NBA today.
Jayson Tatum or Anthony Edwards and possibly Ja Morant
If Ja can stop playing gangsta, acting like he’s CJ in GTA San Andreas lol
None of those guys are top 5 players tho. How can you be the face of the nba and not be the best of the best
@@HenryDurth He just wants to see a black American as the face of the league, by the looks of that list.
Not Tatum
@@cryptidian3530 thats what it seem like but none of the americans have any basketball iq and none of them are top 5 or have the potential to be.
In order to be the face of the league you need the skills, the charisma, and need to be relatable to fans, your game HAS to be aesthetically appealing, have the OMG moments, and obviously be a top 3 player.
Lebrons game is not aesthetically appealing or pretty, but he has everything else that you mentioned. Great post btw.
Lebron lacks charisma and he is not relatable to fans.
I don't think we should see a face but many ,which I think is better for the sport due to there being more eyes.
After just going through the LeBron era I couldn’t agree more!
This might be a hot take but I like the idea of a Tyrese Haliburton. He's a young emerging superstar, no drama as of yet, great communicator, and seems to have a genuine love for the game.
Got another one in a few years and it’s Jamie Jaquez
I like it. I’m still waiting to see, but love his game and seen interviews. Seems really mature and has a good head on this shoulders.
I like Hali for the reasons u listed but I think Ant man got the edge on him with the charisma, movie star and a walking highlight reel. He’s a mixture of Tmac and Jordan
Haliburton’s issue is he misses a lot of games. Missing games is one of the main critiques of the modern NBA. ANT hardly misses games so he’s a better candidate.
No. He works for Haliburton
I like Anthony Edwards
He has to get in the top 5 players and currently I don't think he's top 10 yet
Scottie Barnes 🔥🔥🔥
Face of the league cannot be a big man, it has never been
How old are u 8? Kareem.wilt George mikan
Dr j
Hakeem when Jordan was away.
@@anthonytaylor7928 Shaq
Worse take I’ve seen here today
It’s honestly hard to choose the new face of the league. It was clear as day when we was growing up. Went from MJ, Kobe , Bron/ Curry like who can possibly be the next one it just hard to choose.
Not really. When MJ retired Shaq was the face of NBA. Around 2007 it became Bryant
wemby probably can hold it down for the next 10 years
Why are his minutes so damn limited? They’re terrified he’s gonna get injured.
@@blaketindle4703 Wemby is 4th amongst all rookies in minutes played at 28.4, miller is first at 31.4
they're not limiting him that much, he had that ankle roll on the ball boy which limited him at 24mpg for like 10/15games, but other than that, that's just the modern nba, they don't play their rookies 35mpg anymore when rookies used to be 21/22years old on average. Now they're young and not fully grown into their bodies yet.
@@blaketindle4703 don’t want him injured in a losing season. next year he can let loose
Anthony Edwards is the new face he just need to be on a marketing team along with Kat
The thing that, I guess you could say, impresses me about the "Spurs way' is that Coach Pop is getting up there and he's been losing quite a bit now. It's harder to keep that discipline in that scenario. You also have to feel pretty confident in your job security.
Anthony Edward was part of the problem this weekend playing left-handed.idk about him..
As far as American players Ant man is the guy and then Ja
Ant man and Haliburton. Ja is too much of a wildcard that could do something extremely stupid and get kicked out of the league. Plus, I don't see his knees lasting with the way he plays the game.
The next faces were lined up for GUNZ&BUNZ aka JA & ZION but they can’t do right. Edwards might. NBA needs to figure it out soon. Lebron and Steph are old
Honestly the way BOTH of these guys can't stay on topic anymore, im honestly surprised this show is still ongoing.
Wemby... Probably the next 😎
Jason should be there.... But man he gotta hit the next gear ⚙️
There isn't a next face!
Jaquez
It's Victor. That's it. That's the answer.
Im a Spurs fan an im sure they'll sell Wemby. But Dude from Indiana or Anthony Edwards got true game. They wanted Ja Morant to be soooo bad, but we know how that went.
Pat Bev grant William or Jackson hayes
The stats that this generation of skilled bigs put up outshine guys like jayson tatum, who in previous generations would have been seen as the face. Right now, Sga is the only relatable player putting up numbers close to giannis/jokic/embiid. The bigs aren't as relatable to the fans, and Sga is from a similar culture to the United States. Anthony Edwards could take the mantle if his game takes a step forward in the coming years. Both Sga and Ant have good teams around them to keep them in the spotlight.
It’s comical how everybody tries to push some American that’s not half as good as the obvious best players in the league.
Its Luka.
💯
They would never make an international player the face ....some local rookie will be anointed if necessary
I’ve got zero issues with a foreign born player being the face of the league for the next 20 years🏀
If he can get in shape, Zion would be a candidate. Pelicans have him playing point guard right now which is insane on a talent level because he's actually playing it well
On paper you’d say Tatum
1st team All NBA back to back
All star starter back to back
4th MVP last season, in the mix this season
Top 6 in merch sales
Got best playoff record from guys that don’t have a ring
Once Lebron,Curry and KD and retired, elevates him more. But Rob is right, there is something missing where he doesn’t resonate like other stars. Maybe if Celtics win chip that will change
Luka,SGA,Haliburton,Edwards,Tatum,Wemby,Chet,Ja,De 'Aron Fox, I know it's a long list, but it's true.
Jordan actually didn't have cab fare. He got a ride from a limo driver my dad went to high-school with. That limo driver is now jordans assistant. He was in the last dance
The face of the league is the player with highest jersey sale, shoe sale and TV ratings. Looks like it's gonna be wambenyama
As long as it's not a foreigner. Nikola, Giannis, Luka, SGA and co has been running this league for a while but the media are so hesitant to give them their due credit just because they are not 'mericans. Wemby may average 30, 15, 5, and 10blocks but they will always be compared to Chet or someone less.
Zion is the face of Buffalo Wild Wings, haha, but jokes aside, Jayson Tatum
SGA will eventually be the face of the NBA he’s just gotta win first.
If he wins the MVP. He will be.
AJ Dybantsa is gonna be big I’m telling yall
If Wemby is your league's face, good luck landing a monster t.v. contract. And Embid? Really? Didn't Kenny Reeves have to push him hard when he was playing center for Carver High? Sybil?
Wemby era coming
Embid is a Top 5 NBA player right now. Dude is great.
@@user-nt1jf3yl3f Maybe he is. But Warren Coolige was a better singer.
Jayson Tatum is the best player in the NBA today.
@@AndrewCampbellsports The Al Gore of superstars?
Trust me guys, Victor has the personality!
I actually think it’s going to be Shai gilgeous Alexander dudes a beast man and still is really young
I think the next face should be a Paul George type of player we haven’t really seen nobody like that be the face with that skillset
All the other guys went to bad organizations and turned there franchise around Tatum was playing on team with a MVP candidate in eastern conference finals we will never know if he can really carry a team because of his supporting cast
Is Luka really a tier above JT?
It will be a multiple faces in the next generation imo
I think even Kobe had more of a widespread popularity than LeBron. But Lebron has certainly been at another level of popularity for 20 years. No one will get close to his status, curry got close
You don't have to think. Just look up the NBA players on that Olympic team talking about how they thought they knew what stardom was until Kobe joined the USA team and they went to China. Kobe was like a God over there not LeBron
@@SocomElitebro that was in 2008 and Kobe had been in the league longer and had 3 championships by that point, of course he was going to be more popular.
Wemby will with a ring at 21
@@86klubased on what? He hasn't improved the spurs at all. They're on pace for the same, or slightly worse record than they had last year.
It’s Tatum and Giannis whether y’all like it or not. But in like three years it may have to be someone new
De’aaron Fox is the next face of the NBA
I think it's going to be Victor Wembenyama as well.. i am hoping popp retires soon though
Giannis will be the face he has everything the league wants to be the face of the NBA
Wemby is super special
Ant Man, Shai, Luka, Tatum, Wemby, ect…. NBA will always have superstars
Part of the problem is too much individualism. Where are the great teams? The last one to win 64, 65, 67 games was the 2017 Warriors. And that took a super team. There used to be teams like the Mavericks who won 67 games in the mid 2000s. Aside from having a plethora of HOF’ERS that joined up, there just hasnt been great teams for years now
How is luka not in this conversation, oh yeah he's white and "they" don't want a white face to represent the league
shut up
It’s not that he is white. It’s that he is foreign. Lots of American fans and players are waiting for the next great “American” player. That bias is real.
After LBJ, Steph & KD, I think Luka has the biggest global appeal out of this current generation.
@cheatingscoobydoo this a diffrent time period. The media pushes black = good , white= bad. The Stephen A's of the world wouldn't push Luka
It's y'all's version of the Eminem train
Wemby, SGA, and Haliburton.
The limitations on Jason Tatum is that Boston is no longer a basketball town. Why should a fan in Cincinnati care about Jason Tatum when Bostonians don't care. Go look up a list of greatest Boston pro athletes of all time and see how far down the list Paul Pierce sits. Paul sits below journeyman Randy Moss who never won a ring in New England.
Michael Jordan was the face of the league even before he won his 1st championship in 91. From 85-90 (before we won a ring) Jordan was the face of the league. He was getting sweeped in the playoffs and people were still talked about him more than any other player or team.
All these shows talk about the same stuff, as a fan please mix it up.
James Harden could maybe be the next face, but he has to win.
He's 34 already...he will probably retire before Lebron....
Jayson Tatum if he wins the championship this year
He doesn’t have the personality, being the face of the league is more than just winning a championship.
He doesn't have the talent to be the face. Jayson tatum has the great team but not the individual talent
It's sad that the best players are foreign players now. I never thought I'd see it happen. This is what AAU did to our sport. These kids don't get coached anymore when they're young. Our kids are great athletes but are never taught to actually play. They spend more time working on their dunks than they do actually learning the game
Luka. Giannis. Wemby. Ant. Shai . Tatum. My own team Brandon miller is my sleeper pick. But luka in my opinion will be the face and will avg 34+ plus the rest of my career in my opinion
Wemby clearly. He's the only player that you can watch and get Wow plays on defense. He's got the swag and wants to win.
Silver needs to step in and order the Spurs to go for it now. Wemby can help a team win a ring now. We’re not promised tomorrow. Go all in Pop and R.C.!
To be honest the Spurs can continue to play Wemby 28 mins a game until they put some real talent around him.
Jayson Tatum is the best player in the NBA today.
Joker, Giannis or Luka because Morant wants to be a rapper
The new face of the nba globetrotters is Luka
I like antman dude just got that it
I think Chet vs Victor would be the next Magic vs Bird face of the league
The difference with bird and magic is that they got drafted to storied franchises so the market was already in place
I'd might say Wemby because Wemby might be too young right now but the fact is Lebron James can play another three seasons until the 2026-2027 NBA Season. Giannis, Jokic and Embiid will all he in their mid-thirties and about 5 years away from retirement. In the meantime, Luka will be 28 years old and Wemby will be 23 years old. Those are your top 2 choices to carry the mantle from Lebron once he retires.
Yea luka and wemby seem like they are goina be by far the 2 best players in the nba
Ant Edward’s or Wemby
Brandon Miller Maybe
What has Luka done to deserve to be a tier 1 player but Tatum isn’t somehow a tier 1 player don’t understand that Tatum has been 1st team All-NBA multiple times, he’s taken his team to multiple Conference finals, and he’s advanced to the NBA Finals as well which Luka has never done, and Finally Tatum is a better Two-way player than Luka has ever been although Luka’s defense has improved a bit this season he’s still not equivalent to Tatum in terms of both sides of the ball so Tatum is underrated while I think Luka has become slightly overrated bc people get caught up in his counting stats instead of taking into account what both guys are asked to do and analyzing that so Luka’s great but I’d still give Tatum the edge by a little bc his playoff success is more than that of Luka along with being a better all around two way player on both ends of the court.
Thats like saying Wade was better than Cavs Lebron because of playoff success
Tatum is great but cmon, Luka is generational you can see it, the talent is just too much, he eventually will win the chip with a decent defensive team
As soon as he get those foot issues that’s his career gone via Ya Ming
Name a former Spurs player that was in a lot of commercials? Name a Spurs player that had a show while being drafted and playing with the Spurs Don’t worry I’ll wait
Me personally I think it’s ja morant
If Minnesota and Oklahoma don't get enough airtime...the Lakers will try to proceed to get Ant or Ja or SGA
The face of the league has always been box office and none of those guys are not box office. Rob and Chris says a 21 year old is done is why people dont like the media. Was kobe done after Colorado?
It ain't Zion. He's the face of Old Country Buffett.
I agree Wemby will be that guy
They're giving it to Luka but he doesnt want it.
Tatum will be the next chosen one!
It’s Luka and Wemby.
Jayson Tatum is missing personality too , that dude is reluctant to do interviews, doesn't want the spotlight, just like many of great players in the league.
It's JA how does no-one see it?
The leagues problem is this is what we are talking about. If the league was any good we would be talking about the games and the gameplay.
It's the all-star break....there's no game to talk about
@@alessioraccagni3753 They have played like 2/3 of the season. Of which no one cared about because of football. If the league was worth a damn, any of those previously played games would be what we would be talking about. League is weak and players are unlikable.
Why you need one person ...just market the teams and stuff...like its a team sport.the nfl comment is stupid because nfl there is like what 40 players on a team and just like 3 are highlighted in games the QB and receivers
The NBA is about to be similar to MLB with the best players being foreign born players.
3:36 are people blind!???? The answer is smacking guys in the face and they cant see it. It’s victor wembanyama !!! Stop the search. He’s electric. He’s the draw. What are people missing??! Look how non basketball fans tuned in to the nba cuz of him. Reporters and fans will wake up one morning with victor dominating in the playoffs and realize, oh wait. Victor has been the face of the league this whole time.
