I love how you’re doing low tones and breathing while also expressing how much it hurts. I’ve learned the low tones and breath control is a great way to work through those contractions.
@milky8471 I wanted to have the birth at home, but my partner wasn't comfortable with that. We mutually agreed to have it at the hospital but still incorporate a holistic approach. The hospital and my doctor were very accommodating. I did all natural, no medication or pain management. I did hypnobirthing, and it was a great experience with hardly any pain. I plan on my next being at a birthing center, just for a little more of a peaceful experience. She's almost 4 months now! 🥰
I was SO blessed when I had my son. I was 21 years old. I went to the hospital at 11 pm, on a Monday night. Had actually been in labor for some hours. Once in the hospital, I actually slept overnight through labor! Naturally. I was accustomed to getting to bed early.. so I was tired! The nurse came in every so often to check my progress. At 10 am, on Tuesday, they said "You're ready to go!". Rolled me into the delivery room. Everyone was so nice. The doctor was hilarious.. cracking jokes. I'm sure it was all to keep me calm. I was fine. And before I knew it, my son was born. The nurse brought him to me and I held him while the doctor finished up. It was a wonderful experience. No problems. Baby and I were fine. Afterwards, the baby was taken to the nursery, I was back in my room and I went back to sleep for a while. Yes. I was truly blessed. Thank You, Lord. 🙏❤️ That was it for me. No more children. One-and-Done! 😄
This was so informative! I watch a lot of birth vlogs and have always been confused at how the pain progresses exactly. I knew it in theory I suppose, but this presentation makes it way more coherent
My family always teases me that my pregnancies are the only things I have completed from start to finish without trying to bail. That isn't true, however. Trust, you, me... come 8 cm I was begging to back out... "I've changed my mind, I can always adopt!" lol. However, with each baby, as soon as I held them, even during stitches (2 V birth) and Closing (1 911 C-section and 1 planned C-section) I was already planning the next baby... "Hey, Doc! About this time next year? You up for it?" He never took me seriously... My first 3 kids are roughly 15 months between each. Doc was sure he was done with my bipolar labor and deliveries... Then, my 4th was 5 yrs after the third. Be proud mamas! Never doubt your ability and when you inevitably do, keep pushing! Don't allow others to hi-jack your Births. If you have a plan or not, you will know as things progress what your body (and the rest of you) needs. Follow your instincts. If someone you don't want is there, have the nurse ask everyone to leave. You can always call back those who you want there. If you need to rest, shower, eat, etc . If you start not wanting pain meds but change your mind when you actually experience the pain, do what is best for your body. If you are suffering your delivery will too. Obviously, there are exceptions to every birth, as no 2 are the exact same. I'm simply saying to trust yourself and listen to yourself. You know this already. We were quite literally designed for this. Be your own best ali.

This was my experience with my first though my water broke at 2 cm. I was fine until 8 cm. Then I was asking for an epidural. I thought I had it in the bag… nope
I’m not in real labour till my waters go, my waters just hold the contractions back. Once they’re gone…. WOW shit get intense instantly 😂 preparing to do it a third time in April, I can’t wait!
Yes exactly, I can’t seem to move my body at all after the water is all out and baby’s head is right on my cervix 😅 but breathing and low tones helped a LOT during those really rough pressures from being 7-10cm dilated ❤

It only took a couple more hours and they all had to drive back to the birth center 😅

My oldest son is the only pregnancy that wasn't induced, even though he was 2wks past his due date. I went running with my husband to try and induce labor. My mother had to tell me I was in active labor because I wasn't having any pains, but she saw my stomach muscles contracting. Idk if they still DON'T tell women that getting demerol through their IV is an alternative to an epidural, but it is! I went to right to sleep until it was time to push. It could be a result of baby's position or sometimes linked to pain tolerance levels. Sometimes it could be a result of dehydration, high stress or the body running on little to no food. Yup! I had the same thing happen when I was in labour. I thought I was nearly there but then when my midwife informed me I was only at two centimetres, I cried. Labour is certainly a rite of passage.
This is acurate.... unless youre in prodromal labor and experience transition-like contractions for 96 hours due to malposition of the baby and become entirely too exhausted to continue 😅
Read Childbirth Without Fear by Grantley Dick-Reid. It totally changed the way I labor because I understood WHY I needed to relax. I turned into a rag doll. I made sure none of the muscles in my face were tensing up cause that meant I was tensing up down there. Only low moaning. No squealing. Slow deep breathing. Don’t go into labor depleted of minerals/electrolytes and you will have very little pain. Remember when you start trying to think of ways to get out of it you are about to see your precious baby! 😭~mom of 8
@@lauranilsen8988Love this! Mom of 5 going on 6. I have had natural non medicated births. This time I am so scared and have anxiety 😥 I am due any day and know its coming. Trying to calm down but its hard 😢
After a harder birth I was def dreading the next one. I just felt so weary and did not want to go through it. I typed up a bunch of encouraging scripture to memorize while I waited for the day. During labor my husband read them to me when I asked. It was so helpful!! The first one that comes to mind is "He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength" Isaiah 40:29 I pray everything goes well and you have a beautiful peaceful birth and healthy baby!@@desereehernandez5889
Romans 10:9-11 9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
Did you feel at all like it was possible not to scream? Like if you tried really hard you could just moan or push through it with gritted teeth? Asking because I want to do a homebirth but I live in an apartment and don’t wanna scare the neighbors 😅
@@evelynkirishko5407 some women dont scream but personally i couldnt help it. I was asking the nurses to kill me because i literally couldnt go on the pain was too intense.
@@evelynkirishko5407I'll share mine if it helps! I did a mostly natural hospital birth; one shot of Fentanyl when it was almost over. And I was super quiet until right at the end; nobody would've known I was in labor from outside the room. Then I screamed through my very last two pushes. 🤷♀️ 😅 It was totally worth it! My first birth was with an epidural. I much preferred this one!
@@evelynkirishko5407What got me through was my birth comb, birth ball, nitrous oxide, and most key was my breathing pattern. Slow in for 4 counts, slow out for 8 counts. Towards the end, when I lost control of this breathing once or twice is when my pain felt out of control. Again it was all worth it!!
@@evelynkirishko5407leave a printed page on your door “homebirth in progress” or similar, and scream away. If you’re a screamer you won’t be able to hold it, if you’re not a screamer in life in general, you won’t scream. Women’s character and emotional coping mechanisms do not change but enhance in labor. Those dealing with their feelings and emotions internally do the same in labor, those of us that deal with all externally do the same in labor. I remember tapping a lot during contractions, like banging a rhythm with my hand on whatever surface I was holding on to, getting it out. But I’m an external coping person.
I hit transition stats but when I’m only a few centimeters dialated and it sucks. I spend so much pain and time trying to push through that I can’t think or relax to progress
I wish I had that experience the first time… but hey baby was facing up and … yeah the face was blocking the way out… hat 51 hours I think from water breaking to c section… hopefully this time I’ll be able to experience it like in the video…
Im trying for vba2c and i have a lot of sharp pains from scarring but i dont feel any contractions. Im tired of this pain even though my labor didnt start 😢
Yeah.... not for all women unfortunately some women are in intense pain with contractions that are a min long every 1-3 mins the whole time. That normal too
Did they induce you? My water broke at 6am but I didn’t start having painful contractions until like 6pm. No petocin; all natural until i got the epidural and eventually gave birth at around 2am.
@@evelynkirishko5407 nope. That was natural labor starting, I just had the dramatic start. I was just induced yesterday with a balloon only, followed by breaking the last little bit of my water during late active labor.
Perhaps. It is true that labor is different for every woman and even every pregnancy. Like I had back labor with my first I’m really hoping I don’t feel that again this time, because it’s just constant pain with no breaks vs. contractions where you get at least a little break in between. It still gives women an idea of how their labor will/might progress. It’s actually astonishing how many women go into their first labor completely unprepared. I was one of those. The hospitals really teach you very little and it’s hard to grasp how relevant some of the information is until you’ve been through it.
Lol it's crazy I went to the hospital at 4.5 cms wasn't feeling a thing...they burst my water bag at 6 cms still didn't feel anything I started feeling mild pain which felt like period at 8 cms the doctor/mid wife kept asking me if I'm alright because I'm so quiet but at 9 to 10 cms I was like wooooow get this baby out of me
Early Labor : 0-3cm Active Labor : 4-6cm You won't start really feeling those contractions till you're 4cm dilated. They usually don't admit you till you're 4cm dilated because when I went to the hospital I was 4cm dilated && that's when they admitted me. If you go to any ER they usually make you wait till you're 4cm to induce you. Some women plan the date with their ObGyn && they'll go to the ER to be induced especially if you're having a C-Section. I know because my ObGyb told me to go to the ER to get induced && I was only 1cm but I just waited till I went into active labor.
@@Pohlmaster I also said that the hospital doesn't admit you till your 4cm. Just because you feel contractions at 2cm doesn't mean that you're in labor because Active Labor doesn't begin until you're 4cm-6cm like I said.

Yup! I had the same thing happen when I was in labour. I thought I was nearly there but then when my midwife informed me I was only at two centimetres, I cried. Labour is certainly a rite of passage.
Same...hoping this time around to handle it better.
Me currently. I didn’t know if this was normal because Braxton hicks aren’t usually painful, but I’ve been in pain all day.. only 2 cm dilated.
@@ksmith3261 Did you check the dilation yourself or went in to get checked? How far long are you?
This is acurate.... unless youre in prodromal labor and experience transition-like contractions for 96 hours due to malposition of the baby and become entirely too exhausted to continue 😅
Both times I had no early labor.. When it started it was just immediately active labor, contractions every 30 seconds until baby came. 😅
I'm due in a few weeks. Scared. Lol
You'll be fantastic! Believe in your body and your strength ❤️💪
😂 getting braxton hicks just watching this lol. It was manageable until my water broke/transition. Cursing like a sailor 🤐
Very accurate 😂
Romans 10:9-11
9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
I was screaming during transition. Lol
But I’m an external coping person.
tubal ligation it is😍(no disrespect to mothers)
The tone change in the voice is how you know
i cant believe am about to go thru this in a weeks time
I hit transition stats but when I’m only a few centimeters dialated and it sucks.
Can’t we take epidural during these stages
Im trying for vba2c and i have a lot of sharp pains from scarring but i dont feel any contractions. Im tired of this pain even though my labor didnt start 😢
You did it mama ❤
Yeah.... not for all women unfortunately some women are in intense pain with contractions that are a min long every 1-3 mins the whole time. That normal too
Uncomfortable does not describe it. The pain a unbearable
It was so bad for me around four cm that i tried to yell and scream but nothing vame out lol.. All worth it though !! ❤❤❤
15weeks and ma'am i am scared!
My water broke first, and I was stuck in early labor dilation and timing with the strength of active. Efffff.
I definitely said I couldn’t do it ❤
God loves you ❤️
It's different for everyone.
😂 funny but scary bless you hope you all got fine with the baby
Thank you for the birth control reminder
You are welcome! xxxx
Facts
Does anyone else feel like this was oversimplified? Lol
Lol it's crazy I went to the hospital at 4.5 cms wasn't feeling a thing...they burst my water bag at 6 cms still didn't feel anything I started feeling mild pain which felt like period at 8 cms the doctor/mid wife kept asking me if I'm alright because I'm so quiet but at 9 to 10 cms I was like wooooow get this baby out of me
Wow! It's amazing you felt nothing until you were nearly fully dilated. Amazing! You must have a very high pain/discomfort tolerance ❤️💪
Sooooo why am I at 4cm with regular contractions 2-5mins apart and I still got sent home.... I'm 39 weeks and 2 days
I cannot manage the 8-10 cm
Thank uou
6 months pregnant.🥹 laughing while hearing make it stop 😭😭. i hope i should be able to do the things shown in video when time comes 🫣
Early Labor : 0-3cm
Active Labor : 4-6cm
You won't start really feeling those contractions till you're 4cm dilated.
Why would you go to ER to be induced, what’s the purpose of this? how is that even legal, what country is this done in?
@@MrsPaulaTorres That's why I just waited till I went into active labor.
Others here are saying, that they were just 2cm dilated and had really bad pain. So it’s not the same for everyone.
@@Pohlmaster I also said that the hospital doesn't admit you till your 4cm. Just because you feel contractions at 2cm doesn't mean that you're in labor because Active Labor doesn't begin until you're 4cm-6cm like I said.
@@SheenaJizelle yes. But that’s not what I referring to. I‘m referring to your sentence: „You won’t start really feeling those contractions till you are 4cm dilated“
I'm 7 months and so scared
Don’t be scared. Your mind will get you through it. Don’t feel defeated before it starts. You got this!
All 3 of my babies I seem to get to the hospital and always be at 8cm
That's really good! Sounds like you manage really well at home through your contractions and arrive in time to give birth at the hospital ❤️🌹
My mom is pregnant
Part 2?😅
This is how you know no cervical checks needed too invasive and unnecessary
I dont feel the true pain until about 7-8cm
Transition part was not accurate 😂 it’s more like “AHHHHHHHH I CANT DO IT ANYMORE!!!!”
*3cm dilated*
Her: "Just about to watch a movie and have a cup of tea"
Me: "I'm sorry you're having a hard time, sweetie. I'll hug you until you stop screaming and stomping. ... No. Off limits. Come out of the road. Okay, we're going inside. What are you doing? Don't touch that. You know not to mess with the dog's bowls, why did you do that? Okay, let's clean it up. Oh, hi, David, what are you guys doing today? Finishing up the plumbing? Cool. Yeah, let me just get a few gallons of water so I can boil it for our bath later first. Hey, Carl, when can I expect the electrician? Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, I'll guess we'll have to wait until next week. Hey, Mom. Yeah, go ahead and start packing. Sorry we're a month early. I'll let you know as soon as they're consistent so you can get down here in time. Yeah, be careful around (canyon), we almost skid last time we went through. WHERE DID YOU GET SCISSORS?? COME BACK HERE NOW. Hey, David, we still don't have water and there's a leak in the basement. David? Sorry, sweetie, mom needs that. We've got to get this bad ready for little brother. So exciting, huh? Ughh, we only have 5 onesies. Honey, I'm going to spend a bunch of money, sorry. Yeah, hopefully they'll get here in time. David??? Sweetie, don't come too close, this is really hot. I need to get it up to the tub without spilling, so you need to stay out of Mama's way. Carl, we might have to wait on the sprinklers, sorry. Hi, honey, how was your day? Oh, dang it, I'm sorry. Yeah, it was okay, just exhausted. STOP pouring out the dogs' water! What is with you today?? *sigh* Thanks, honey." *collapse on couch*
I thought bouncing on the ball isn’t recommended
@@Keepinitreal55 it can help with back pain in labour but doing hip circles is more of a constructive way to use a birth ball in labour 👍💖
