If this is it, the video agrees with my opinion that even the highlights proof it was a sad show where new high end gear is considered.
Well at least I'm not tempted to waste any money.
to comment further on roland: everyone who is in the market for volcas, already has them. and of course, roland always has to be on the high side of the price scale, so their "volcas" are $200 US, of course.... IMO korg + behringer dominates the low end synth market. so many of my creator pals here on youtube have volcas, nts1's and the $300 behringer synths. the only roland i see are drum machines and sp404's but no roland groove boxes. that is all digitakt and things like keystep pros and circuits/trackers etc..and akai's. if i was getting a groovebox, i would get an akai too.
the sad truth is, i am waiting on behringer. the new PPG + obx8 are beautiful, but been done. I have a feeling that roland knew they were going to get ratio'd if they showed up. new roland=10 versions of zencore monkeybusiness. yamaha at least showed some great new reasonably priced guitars, and all they had was software upgrades to that organ keyboard. the mrcc midi mixer is cool and i actually need that haha. IMO, the concept of trade show is now antiquated thanks mostly to youtube.
superbooth IMO, is far more superior to NAMM for the synth people. the intimacy and sparse venue keeps it really comfy and cozy. everyone just seems to do better at superbooth.
thank you! I just wish the voice over/narration was a little more enthusiastic. In your defense though, the product demos left me cold.
No doubt we retrograded backwards in 2022. No wow stuff at all. Simple tired old limited voice retro synths that could not hold a candle to a MODX syth even if they were all combined together. what a non event. All you old gear junkies out there are probably very disappointed, like I am. They cant even get the colours right..awful garish stuff. Maybe Ok if you are kiddy, tappy home bound uninspired hideaway type millennial and don't know any better.
90% of these products are designed for people who know nothing about music. They basically write the music for you.
