10/10 on the Deftones "Digital Bath" sounds at the end!

The sound demos sound better on your video than even Alesis' promo.
I went to a 20" bass on my conversion kit and it feels better than any pad Ive tried including a Roland kp-140.

Yeah, the same thing I was surprised about! I wonder how they did this. (lowering pad gain/sensitivity settings maybe? It sounds less processed, maybe they're not playing on the top velocity layers now) Sounds great, this kit!

Yep, once the few issues are resolved, going to sell/trade my Yamaha Tour Customs, Zildjian K's and A's, and Roland TD-17KVX kit to get this. Almost knocked it out of the park first try.

The lack of bluetooth audio and crosstick issues will be deal breakers for many..

There is Bluetooth audio, confirmed in the GC review.

You can play cross stick like normal. Might just have to adjust the trigger settings slightly maybe raise the threshold on the head zone. Worked fine on the strike like normal too.

cross stick is really not a big deal for me.. it's an electric kit tons of other things you can do on acoustic that aren't going to be possible either

The module would be a great upgrade for a Strike Pro SE kit, the pads look very similar

yeah, biggest upgrade (not including module ) is 360 triggering cymbals. but yeah! if this module come to selling byitself, im gonna upgrade my se module to that!

I'm wondering if the lack of crosstick sensing is another Roland patent hurdle?

Will the module be available without the kit and will pads, hihats and cymbals from other manufacturers work with the module?

Plus the whole kit looks a bit odd with the big full sized bass drum.

Wow, just wow. I was sold on this kit as I just watched several other reviews, and just assumed it must have Bluetooth audio in. As why would you build such a monster drum module with every feature every drummer has ever wanted in one, built in VST samples, a 10.1 inch touch screen & even Bluetooth, but leave out the ability to pipe in music to jam to?!!!
Bluetooth audio in & being able to connect your phone & jam to music, is FAR more important than Bluetooth out for sending the drum audio out to any device. As anyone sending audio out would likely be doing so for recording & they would go with a direct line connection. Not Bluetooth. Unreal...
Did I really just hear that correctly? You CAN'T hook up & play music from your phone?!

The module is next level, but the kit as a whole has too many issues to consider buying. I think Alesis has stepped up their game with this kit, and they are heading in the right direction for more professional e-kits, but for the money, I think there are better brands with fewer issues that are much better. I think in the future, as Alesis improves and address all the issues and fixes them, they may become a brand worth considering. My view on Alesis is that most of their kits are budget friendly for home practice, but they have not stepped up their game enough to use any of their kits in a band situation live on stage. The Alesis Strara Prime kit does have better recorded sounds than any of their other kits, but sadly, playability and the issues many reviewrs found with this kit keeps Alesis out of the game for me as an e-kit brand I would concider buying. In the future, I think Alesis will get better. they are just clearly not there yet. I do feel that with the new kits, Alesis comes out with does fix issues of the previous kit, but then they rush the kit out for sale without enough testing and tweeking to make their kits as good as some of the competition. With how many Strata Prime kits Alesis has sent out to reviewers, makes me think that Alesis thinks this is the e-kit. Sadly, I think this kicked Alesis in the ass as the reviewers do point out what is good with the kit, but they all have found too many cons and issues with the kit that for the price the kit is not worth buying or even considering. Shame on Alesis for this. They are close to a perfect kit, but they are just clearly not there yet.

Maybe you should try the kit out before forming an opinion. I have the Strike Pro SE and prefer it to the TD27 and Mimic Pro, both of which I had. I think the sounds of the Strike Pro SE are far better than any Roland Module. I can't think of another E-Drum module the market that sounds even close to as good as this Strata Prime. The EFNote module sounds are pretty good, but you don't get much variation in sounds and there's still that annoying machine-gunning. Roland and Yamaha are behind the times. I think the rest of the E-drum industry has to play catch-up to compete with Alesis now.

NO digital audio out is a no go today! So as long as Alesis do not implement this in the modules I will have to go to other brands!

    • @fartpooboxohyeah8611

@@fartpooboxohyeah8611 That is not an option - these are analogue audio outs! So you must go from digital -> analogue -> digital - in my opinion that is messy ...

I agree, especially since they made the rest of the kit pads smaller compared to their previous flagship, the Strike Pro SE. It's an odd pairing. I would have preferred a smaller kick pad.
