Seriously, I wish the person who made this video understood he was lampooning the fact that they put all the "diverse" music in the pre show that's not even on TV and that they chose a redhead middle aged white dude to read them all. He was making fun of the event, not the people who won (half of which couldn't be bothered to show up because the pre show IS a joke) and I think a lot of people missed that. Hell, this year Killer Mike swept the Rap category with 3 Grammys and it was all at like 3pm during the part that doesn't end up on TV. It was all "pre show". How are awards given out BEFORE the show? That IS the show 😂
in 1982 my parents were at a restaurant in LA, 4 couples, all the men were Attorneys. They had a seafood tower. Rickles comes over, grabs a shrimp...Finds out the men are lawyers....He went to town!!! It was one of my parents best memories.
Gervais has no personal animus for actors. He hates the way we ( as a society) put them on pedestals. Having Depp on to give it back to him is totally in character.
Yes I would think so. Saul Goodman was a great character to do a spinoff on. It worked surprisingly really well. I loved the show instantly like Breaking Bad or the Sopranos.
Comedians complain audiences are too sensitive nowadays. Rickles era comedians performed for the mob. And Pryor's early career saw him performing his racial commedy during the Jim Crow era. Great comedians transcend the times to bring people together.

@@at7915 True, but it was mostly the clip of it being shared that made it a focal point in conversations. The clips online had more views than the awards show in just a few hours after it happened as it was being shared everywhere on various social media sites and outlets. The conversation was mostly about what happened … not so much the show itself (outside of how corrupt it all is). One of those things that only gave it publicity because of how outrageous it was, but forever tainted what tiny little bit of an image they had prior to where it turned people away, even the people that still (for some reason) watched those vapid shows. Anyone worth their salt in terms of hosting now realizes they can be assaulted over a simple joke by a celebrity that can go on to be applauded with zero repercussions done by the coordinators. Why bother giving your time to such corrupt shit (as if it wasn’t obvious from the get go at how corrupt it all was) to further applaud and show support for that behavior? So, whether it’s the most talked about event or not doesn’t really matter as it didn’t do the show any positive favors in the long run with the general public (y’know, the people that these out of touch weirdos rely on in the first place to be able to continue successfully).

I don't know man. I feel like they will somehow trick him into hosting 6th times 🤣
every couple of months i rewatch ricky gervais golden globe performances, they are some of the funniest videos ever.
Ricky's entire performance on these awards throughout the years is like that job interview from "Ted" where Ted did every possible thing to not get hired and not only did he get hired, he got promoted.
That's his whole career in a nutshell.
Which is funny, because if he acted like Jimmy Kimmel, ratings would plummet, and he'd get his wish of never hosting the Globes again
What I don't understand is...they loved and liked that type of humor for 5 years
Yet they can't Stand 90 mins of that same humor in ted?
Ted is awesome and it desserves a 3rd movie
@@lullsbaby9321 do you really think he doesn't want to be there? He gets to piss all over the show and the a-hole celebs and get paid for it. Why wouldn't he want to do it?
Not many people can do what he does and get away with it. He’s a lucky bastard 😅
I think that the reason why Ricky Gervais hosting the Golden Globes had so many people watching it is because it felt like one of us was there representing us, saying what we all wish we could say.
And he even said the exact thin gin an interview. He wanted it to be that way. Legend √
He doesn’t give a fuck about you. He’s just as bad as those he guns for. Another hypocrite.
The "Actors" getting offended at Ricky's jokes shows how high they think of themselves. Even RDJ, whom everyone loves, took a dig at Ricky. Ricky's joke on him was hilarious. Also, love how Jerry Seinfeld and Don Rickles put the "actors" in their place.
the "actors" are actually actors. your "quotes" don't "make" any "sense".

Right it made it way funnier watching him butcher everything about it and watching him realize how stupid it was of them to choose him to do that part.
😂😂😂😂😂
Seriously, I wish the person who made this video understood he was lampooning the fact that they put all the "diverse" music in the pre show that's not even on TV and that they chose a redhead middle aged white dude to read them all. He was making fun of the event, not the people who won (half of which couldn't be bothered to show up because the pre show IS a joke) and I think a lot of people missed that.
Hell, this year Killer Mike swept the Rap category with 3 Grammys and it was all at like 3pm during the part that doesn't end up on TV. It was all "pre show". How are awards given out BEFORE the show? That IS the show 😂
No classless and insulting.
The fact that they kept inviting Ricky back proves that the Golden Globes organizers are true masochists 😂
They know it'll get attention, nothing more

Johnny Depp not only enjoyed rhe ribbing, he made a cameo in a show of Ricky's and properly "got revenge" over the jokes.

Ricky IS the reason people tune in to watch the awards
very true, and Will Smith is the reason why they don't lol..
@@ashleyobrien4937 Interesting then that the Will Smith incident was the most talked about event from any awards show in recent years
@@at7915 True, but it was mostly the clip of it being shared that made it a focal point in conversations.
