This is a really nice, neat solution for both acrylics and Speedpaints. All in one solution for a reasonable price! What do you guys think? Will you be picking one up?
I currently use a fidget popper toy for my speed paints. It would be really nice if Army Painter did something like that instead of a hard dry palette. It’s SUPER easy to clean up when it’s silicone
I think they will have set out with that in mind but couldn’t find a way to make it affordable for us. This is a nice simple, compact all in one solution. But that’s why I had to talk about my poppit. It’s still what I’m going to use
Top vid as ever. I was on the fence about this product but it’s now on my to get list. Farty sounds whilst opening up the paper was definitely a bonus. 🤣👍
Qué pasa - Its really great to watch your videos. My current wet pallet falling apart and Im needing an upgrade. I added the Speed Paint to my mix and since grabbing the first 2.0 kit I have started to convert my original line to the 2.0. I use a piece of tile for my pallet for the speed paints.
I have a large red grass pallet and the small army painter. I never even use the big one. It takes up too much space. I use the small one and a silicone poppet
I have the small one too. My desk is HUGE and I still think I prefer the small palette! I know is subjective though, I’ve been in stores with people asking for larger palettes even specifically a larger Army Painter one! Had to bite my tongue as I knew one was coming :-D
@@WatchItPaintIt my desk is not small but having the small pallet means i dont have to reach as far to load up. I know it doesn’t seam much but in my mind it does.
I'd be very happy if TAP released just the well palette. Don't need yet another wet palette, and spending £30 to throw 75% away feels, stupid. (-: (still using the old one/s from GW's hobby tray, whatever it was called) And those Turbo Dork ones looked nice, but not if you live outside the UK.. :( Hot water and a toothbrush is your friend for cleaning a well palette. (-:
I thought similar too. And why not have the insert hard tray for the small wet palette? Maybe only 15 wells but people could pick the add on for a lot less! Good tip for cleaning! Thanks
I thought that, and wondered if exactly that will follow in the future. I’m guessing there was a demand for a larger palette so they added the Speedpaint wells while making it. And perhaps a small version doesn’t have enough wells? Let’s see if a small layer appears one day!
Disappointed to see the folded foam sheets, was hoping to see flat sheets being that it’s bigger That said, I have the regular version which my painting has come leaps and bounds on, I was planning to get the large Redgrass one because I’m running out of space on some sessions but I’m dead happy with it, so this XL version is perfect for me
Yeah, I think the fold comes out eventually, could even carefully iron it out. It definitely would be better unfolded. It being slightly too big for the plastic is my biggest concern, not sure if it matters in reality but it doesn’t feel good. Totally agree, at the end of the day it works, it’s decently priced and it’s so easy to pick up. I’d probably pay a little more for the Exemplar or RGG one but I wouldn’t judge anyone for just picking this one up if the Speedpaint too
I will say Hi! I just want to say that I appreciate this channel so much. I always find your videos helpful. Your comedic approach makes it even more of a joy to watch. I genuinely get excited for each upload. I always know I will get a good laugh. Keep up the awesome work. Your approach to video making is so helpful for the beginning painter. Over the last year I have got so much inspiration from these videos. If I could only sub to one mini painting channel, it would be this one. Thank you guys!
Wow. Thank you so much man. That’s really lovely to read. Messages like this, and people like you are what keeps it so fun and enjoyable to keep making content. Happy painting!
thanks for the review, quite a disappointing product tho :( -Leaking -Sponge too big -cant fit most brushes -The plastic wells are a pain to clean I guess better spend a tad more and go with Redgrass or exemplar
Its shit. It really is. Its just a larger version of the one they came out with 4-5 years ago. The biggest issue this palette has, is that IT DOES NOT SEAL. So if you're using a wet palette to keep paints around for a bit longer, while having a longer working-time with said paints, this is not the palette for you. I hope they fix this in the future, rebrand it, and resell it. I'll be onboard when they do.
Well, it’s why I said at the end my go to is the Exemplar - seals and keeps it wetter longer. Having said that, I find paints separate much faster than they dry… so it kind of is irrelevant how much longer it stays wet. I come back and all the paint needs mixing and I may as well just start again. But you’re absolutely right, if your paints don’t separate and you want longer on them being wet there’s much better options!
the inlay foam is to big ! how stupid is that... why not producing all in the proper size to make it fit perfect. i realy like the smaller one but the new big one is a big big miss. next

a clear NO. foam not fitting properly and speedpaint inlay not made of silikone is a big miss and makes the whole thing useless.
Ok, I'm sold! Will be ordering one. Thanks for the fantastic review, as always.

Heya.. Good vid... just in time for the Army Painter new ranges too. Cheers 😆👍
Great review, just ordered one directly from Army painter.
Thanks a lot for the review, nice product and as always, your review is of great help :)
Something new isn’t it! Nice to see an all in one solution come out.

its was almost a perfect wet palette if it had a silicone dry palette
I think you're absolutely correct, and Army Painter are aware too I think, they just could not make it at a reasonable price :(

Lovely review. It looks like a solid solution for folks who use both regular acrylic and speedpaints.
Oh and…”hi!”
With you on that. A nice all in one solution!
Nice work watching all the way to the end!!! Hi2u
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
My go-to dry palette is empty pill/tablet blisters
Ooh that’s a nice little idea. Throw away rubbish when you’ve used it! Cleaning not an issue :-)
Why didn‘t they make it compatible with the old one? Just release a new layer to slide inbetween. Thats certainly what I would buy

After months of use, are the pads mould proof?
Mine are still clear. I think mould resistant is what I’d say. Got plenty of other palettes that over years have the odd bit showing now
@@WatchItPaintIt Nice. Think I'll invest. Thanks for the speedy response.

Hey man! Well done for watching the whole video!!! Good effort

I was concerned too, I let Army Painter know so they can look into it. Might have been by design, might be QA issue!
