Gosh, this video sure was refreshing. It's so nice to see a review that's not going in guns blazing about what is good and what is not. This was incredibly neutral with a really good set of perspectives from the every day user to the weekly user. The neutrality of your thought process really does help sell your message behind this video. I loved it. Great work and I look forward to the next one
ps, I got the pallet and I have the smaller one as well. My only gripe with this pallet is that I can't take the big white bit out the middle (as I don't need it at all) and pop the lid on to have an airtight container. I really wish they did give us the grace of being able to remove the white segment and close the lid. Other than that, it's an amazing pallet with a great size to it and it's handy.
Thank you for the kind words, that’s definitely the tone I wanted to hit, and it’s really nice to know that you think I did so. I didn’t know the lid didn’t work properly without white plastic layer, that’s interesting. Have they stopped making the regular XL, I just kind of assumed they were the same with the extra bit added.
After a few days of using mine I am impressed. I'm a club level painter rather than a pro, it is working well and saved me a lot of wasted paint. I am still learning with it but getting better ever time and great for doing batch painting :)
Nicely done video! After adding speedpaint to my toolkit last year, I found it frustrating to end up wasting it in my little dollar store paint wells, because I couldn’t close it off when I took a break or ran out of energy during a painting project. I just ordered one of these in hopes that I can waste less paint and be able to work on my projects when I want, without the drying time of my paint dictating how long I can or can’t work.
As an Australian who lives in a house with no AC and it now being summer...the army painter wet pallets are pretty good at retaining thier moisture lol. As for your concerns abou them not having a seal. Mine has kept water in them for weeks as ive taken to carrying on with me when i go away for work and do a little painting between shifts. Oh and... Riekland? Lol
I’ve been using it since I recorded the video and it’s been great, no discernible difference with it drying out than the more expensive Redgrass Games one. I think I prefer the paper on the Army painter one as well, add in the paint reservoirs on it, and I think it’s better for me. Love it.
@MiniatureRealms im not gonna lie i often use baking paper instead of the official paper...being in semi rural Australian and all. Could take a while to get more and more expensive lol 1 box of Intercessors here is currently $105
@stuarthayes5880 That’s understandable. I never tried the original, just heard people say it dried out. I find this works the same as my Redgrass Games one, so they may have changed something.
I looked all over at local shops to get this with no success, and even tried to find it on Amazon with similar results. I've been using the original Army Painter palette and have really enjoyed it, and, like you, I wanted the expanded version because I've also been using a lot of contrast and speed paints. I ended up going on Amazon and ordering a similar palette to this one from the Chinabros, a palette that Luke from Geek Gaming Scenics recommended. As a fairly mediocre painter I'm sure it will do me just fine. I will be curious to see your opinion of this palette after a few months of regular daily use.
Thank you. I’ve been using it a few weeks now and I’m just as pleased with it, it holds up well, no issues at all and not found it worse than my more expensive Redgrass Games one.
Just got one and been waiting to get time to paint. Thanks for actually opening and explaining. Much appreciated!
Thank you for watching, hope you enjoy using yours.

So good for not wasting as much paint, I still nearly always put too much on my palette still though 😂

Thank you. It’s really useful for that, though they won’t keep for more than a few hours, fine for meal breaks and such.
Got this at xmas and am looking forward to spare time to get some paintiing in.
Hope you get on with it, I’ve been using mine now for a couple of weeks after making the video and it’s still great.
I never knew you had UA-cam Channel Stuart! Enjoyed the video :)
Thank you. Yeah it’s been a couple of years now, but starting to grow quite nicely.

After a couple of weeks now I’m really happy with it, I was concerned it wouldn’t be as good as my Redgrass Games one, but so far so good.
Very nice review!!! Reviews from the older AP Wet Pallete were awful. Interested I’m knowing how is it standing nowadays!?
Thank you. I’ve been using it a few weeks now and I’m just as pleased with it, it holds up well, no issues at all and not found it worse than my more expensive Redgrass Games one.
