Holy crud, I've been following your old videos for a long time, but this is the first time I've seen your newer content. You freakin' BLEW UP in production quality, you've seriously come a long way!
This, along with folders set up via Track Templates, saves so much time on every session. I always back up a copy of my prefs online, so if I'm on another PC somewhere else, I can grab them. Great vid, as always, Kenny!
The one thing I'd really love added to this is to have color-modifiers or something like that. That way if i have, say, a kick track that is a recieve or a child, i can still have it the same color as other kick tracks but de-saturated, or moer saturated, or darker/lighter. I know there are custom actions around to saturate/desaturate/darken/lighten, but I haven't come across a streamlined way to incorporate those into SWS's auto-color system.
I'm going to do this right now. It's the perfect time, because I'm working on a song, and I actually just added regions last night. I love making my busses white. I'm going to map it all out. This is awesome! No more deciding on colors & taking extra time to do it.
this is amazing thank you sir! I was trying to find a way to make a custom action to change a TAKE to custom color and then like. . for example choose GREEN or something .. . so I could audition takes . . and green = go and red = no ?? yellow maybe?
condition automatic application of TCP/MCP layout if you for example wish that your tracks named 'FX' or 'Bus' or whatever assume a particular layout as soon as you name them, or based on properties other than the name in the Filter column
Does this apply to already created .rpp files? I opened a file and some colors/icons do not change when I rename tracks to the rules. Though the rules seem to work in new projects?
This is great functionality!! I use two PCs for Reaper, and would love to have the same colour scheme on both. Does this tool create a file that I can copy to mo other machine, or do I have to recreate the colours manually on the second PC?
Hi, Kenny! Can you please tell me if there is a way to record my actions and create a custom macro that way? Im trying to find a way to set selected tracks send to pre fader.
Hey Kenny question for you, can you get SWS auto track to also set the track input. for example I would also like my voc-vocal tag to set input 1 and my gtr/guitar tag to set input 2 along with coloring them is this possible?
I don't use icons either, but have noticed since I added the new SWS that my peaks in the track have vanished unless you really zoom in. Quite off-putting I like to see my waves; But I suppose there's something good i'll like. Can I undo the change if I don't get on with it? And how please.
Yes, 100%!!! That would also be useful if you wanted to change the colors sometime. I have all of my drum sounds the same color. That would allow you to change just one, instead of a bunch. Maybe they'll update it.
Ur video are amazing sir it's all because of ur tutorial i have been working in many project from Arrangement to Mixing and Mastering in Reaper from past few years. Recently i am facing one problem i am not able to examine midi data like(Sustain) in my track after recording as it appears in Logic. Whenever i play piano in reaper with my sustain pedal(which i recently bought) everything sounds fine while recording but as soon as recording gets completed and once i disarm track and release sustain pedal i lose sustain in my entire track. Please make video on this Sir.
Kenny-my color vision is less than stellar, and I cannot find a color palette in Reaper that has bright, more primary colors; I have great trouble distinguishing between all the darker and more pastel colors most palettes offer. I have tried looking online, but again most palettes are too muted or dark. Any suggestions? Thanks for all your great videos, btw. They have been my guide to learning Reaper from the beginning.
Thanks for video! One time I saw man, who make children colours a little bit darker than parent colour, by pushing created button, for example: drums parent is strong green, children are soft green. It's not the most important, but I'm intrested, how he did it..
Is SWS technically discontinued? I see the last update was 2021 on their site. Also, I though I remembered Kenny saying in a video that something like this was built into reaper now, but I'm not finding any evidence of that, so I'm prob confusing with something else.
This is by far one of the most useful features that sure helps a lot with organizing your sessions in Reaper :)

More cool features. Cheers Kenny
I`m using SWS for many years... it is quite impressive Kenny always brings something new and funcional I didn't imagine. Thanks!
Reaper is so much FUN! Thanks, Kenny!
An awesome help for organizing and just seeing clearly! Thanks, Kenny.

Exactly. The most efficient thing we can do is pick a color and always use that color for similar tracks. This does it for you.
This is pure gold for me, thank you for the video
Great Stuff Kenny!!!
Another great video. Thank you
kenny i love u!!!🥳
Great time savers for us who do it all by our selfs.
Wicked good, Kenny. Thx again, M8
Awesome Kenny .... I knew the colouring option, but learnt extra from the other options (Region, Receive etc) .... Cheers bro!!!
great video, thank you very much. As always, explained so that we can all understand it.
Love the video bro
One question that always comes to mind and I don't want you to get me wrong. But bro do you even blink? 😂😂
I never blink during the intros. No.
Nice tutorial, I always learn from you! Cheers Mate
that's awesome , thank you
Thank you Kenny, always useful stuff!
that outro though haha loved it!
This is a perfect plugin
Helpful tip. Thanks Kenny.
Great feature! Once you set up the rules, do they only apply to the current project, or do they apply to all projects?
All projects. It is a great feature.
this is amazing thank you sir!

Another great tutorial. Thanks Kenny!
In addition to the "Auto Color/Icon" columns, there are two more "Layout" columns. What function do they perform?
condition automatic application of TCP/MCP layout if you for example wish that your tracks named 'FX' or 'Bus' or whatever assume a particular layout as soon as you name them, or based on properties other than the name in the Filter column
@@ARE_YOU_SICK_OF_YT_CENSORSHIP Thanks.
Can we save these color settings so that we can load up the color scheme whenever we start a new project?
They should automatically save with your system.
Yep, I think that's the point. It'll always be there when you start a new project. 😎👍
Thanks Kenny!!! Do I need to save my preferences also or does this effect all projects?
Does this apply to already created .rpp files? I opened a file and some colors/icons do not change when I rename tracks to the rules. Though the rules seem to work in new projects?

Take markers? The default color is too light
why my color panel looks old like WIN95?
i like a gradient color
Do you have to create these rules for each project? I might have missed that part
no, if u create them it applies to each project u create
@@griddxi so it is a default setting for every new project?
@@christopherheadcase6886 yes
unfortunately on my os monterey does not detect SWS :( I am devastated
Will it color based on partial names if you use asterixes?
Try it?
Thank you so much. It helps to fasten my workfloww ❤️
instead of create rule for each word it would be great we could separate words in filter with comma etc
Yes, 100%!!! That would also be useful if you wanted to change the colors sometime. I have all of my drum sounds the same color. That would allow you to change just one, instead of a bunch. Maybe they'll update it.

This is a great video, thank you! I don't have a (record armed) as an option, and if I create it (typing), it doesn't work.
Useful. Thanks !

LOL
Sir make video about, Zero crossing in reaper.
Very useful. Thank you!
I chose to have my tracks to assign a random color but the issue I'm having is that after I arm it, it turns red and stays red after unarming it
THIS IS GREAT! TY!

Great vid.. Thanks.
Anybody here know how to get that color palette on windows?
