  • It's the end of 2022 and to celebrate I thought I'd run through some of the best lessons I've picked up over the last 12 months.
This year has had over 10,000 minutes of episodes produced so there was a lot to choose from but I ended up settling on 16 insights from some of my favourite conversations both inside and outside of the podcast.
Expect to learn why Jocko Willink thinks that most people overcomplicate motivation, what Joe Rogan taught me about difficult and valuable things, why Douglas Murray makes a mean manhattan cocktail, how Jordan Peterson highlighted the price you pay for inaction, how Rob Henderson predicts the news cycle with amazing accuracy, how Rick from Rick & Morty can help you be more confident and much more...

It's amazing that you have such a capacity to learn such profound things at an early age. Many of the things you highlight are things I have already learned. With age should come wisdom and understanding. Even at an early age I would listen attentively to my great grandparents and grandparents when staying summers with them. I found that so much heart ache and good productive ideas and knowledge are learned by taking the time to spend with them. I could by pass much of the pitfalls in life by learning from their mistakes. The fire is hot and it burns. I only have regrets that I was not confident enough to follow through on some of the more mature and advisable pathways I had learned from these sages. It's sad that so many young people do not want to listen or learn from our elders. At least if we are given experienced knowledge and wisdom, we then have more choices in the known. The forest is vast and sometimes old paths that were lost and forgotten are actually the safest and best paths to take. Peace to you and keep learning. Isn't it great?!

You had so many interesting and overwhelmingly inspiring discussions with women on your channel within the last year, at least in my opinion. Nonetheless, out of all the individuals you are referring to in this highlight reel not a SINGLE one is mentioned during this one hour monologue. So what are the chances that of all interview partners not a single female made a lasting impression on you? Just to be clear: I am not a fan of feminism, but I wonder whether there is a significant bias planted inside of you. Or would you rather say that the men and women you have spoken to just talk about totally different topics and that specific topics you are particularly interested in are almost exclusively adressed by men? Although I admit there is a tendency for men to speak more and in-depth about philosophical topics and topics regarding self-help, your interview partners did not reflect these gender based differences that strongly for you not to include the thoughts of at least one female.

Nobody can take information and break it down in such a concise and relatable way like Chris does. I really appreciate the endless curiosity and humility to his approach as well. The fact that your video has no fancy text, stock images and video - all talkies but full of info makes it that effective. Most people recommend to make video full of fancy editing but the miss giving the value point. So thanks, Chris. I am currently contemplating to revamo how I do my videos.
On top of this, what you do is inspiring us to move forward. Thanks for dedicating your time and energy to share these as we end the year and welcome a new one!

a profound psychological quote i heard this year was -" you are free to choose, think what ever thoughts you
choose to think but not free to feel the feelings that thought will bring you."
So try to discard negative, doubt type thoughts at the outset. A daily, hourly, minute by minute practice.

So congratulations on getting this ADHDer to stay interested in your content haha.

Chris, you're an excellent podcaster for what's that's worth. I've watched enough to get a sense of your essence - you can't hide that kinda thing for long. What's funny is the critics who watch just snippets or a few minutes and make snap(negative)judgement. This happens with conservatives (or people lumped in with them) in the media all the time. Their biggest critics don't really watch them. I'm not calling you a conservative, just using it as an example. Do not worry about the eyes on you, it's the posers who don't really watch you but feel free to label you that need to be ignored.

One can not love oneself if one does no know and understand oneself.
What I learned is that there are three stages of consciousness: Childhood, adulthood and Selfhood. Only a very few people ever reach Selfhood.
Now, however I have found a very simple way to teach all others how to reach Selfhood and liberation. I call it Instant Enlightenment. It is free to anyone who can grasp this Truth.
"Of all illumination which human reason can give, none is comparable to the discovery of what we are, our nature, our obligations, what happiness we are capable of, and what are the means of attaining it." You are right Chris, our wisemen are not wise...

Favorite episode so far for me. Super cool. Youre totally nailing it and wisdom like this can really help people. Its funny how many of these things click right into place in our minds because we realize how many real life examples and the ways we choose to do/not do things really are at least partially based on these types of beliefs and mental algorithms. I think we mimic others on things we see as correct or working, and we find the deeper truths and wisdoms later on, out of necessity. Nothing like a good epiphany!

Hey Chris, any chance of interviewing Naval Ravikant at some point? Out of everyone I've ever heard speak on these issues, he's always come across as the smartest person. Plus there's nowhere near enough interviews with him so please do it :D

Hello Chris. I was not a fan of you before. When i encountered your channel I first thought just random guy who wanted to started a podcast and here he is any will just speak random topics and random stuff and it will not be worth while to watch this content, but as as the time pass and I see the guests. all my favourite people(jbp, joe rogan) were on. The knowledge that i achieved from these podcasts helped me a lot. Thank you for creating such wonderful content. Hoping to listen more of your content. All the best
