But this game does not scream woke.. what exactly would be woke about this? The concept of stealing from the rich? The fact that there a black character who is the focus of the trailer? None of those are woke in nature, the concept and idea of the game is just that an idea. Are all call of duty games just propaganda to get people to join the army? Im sure the army has leaned into it but the games are just cool ideas that people enjoy. I think if people come out and attack gamers for being racist and all that we will know there was an agenda behind this one, but honestly i dont see anything woke about this one. Its similar to the vehicle combat game sony released which also failed horribly, but not a single person got angry at gamers for not supporting it. They only come out and baby rage on the actual games with an agenda behind them.

As it becomes harder to acquire wealth, the luxuries we purchase must also increase in value.

It make me feel old, if I occult the fact that I'm still playing a lot of modern and various type of video games, with a passion.
As soon as I see a black woman as the leader of a group of anti-establishment figures now, I immediately feel the game is going to be woke. I am now pre-conditioned to think and feel that way, that's sad. I used to not even think about stuff like that, I just didn't. I love Watch Dogs 2, when I first played that I thought 'what a cool game.' If Watch Dogs 2 came out now, I bet the trailer would make me think 'woke trash incoming.' It's sad.

The other day I started watching a 2022 horror movie and a black protag appeared and I almost turned it off, assuming it'd be woke. The people who say that the rich have too much money, and things like "eat the rich" usually are walking around in $2000-3000 worth of clothing.
To be fair, some people do have "too much". Some salaries are just ridiculous but admittedly they have a lot on their plate and likely put in crazy hours so great compensation is deserved just not in the millions.
I'm not sure how useful it'd be but I like the idea of putting a hefty tax on single purchases with a value over a million dollars with the exception of houses. If someone is spending over a million on a single thing that is not a house, they surely can afford more taxes. A reformed tax structure in general would be nice.
I'm not of the opinion millionaires are a problem, it's the multi-millionaires and billionaires who I'd appreciate a lot if they parted with more of their wealth to fund the system/society that enabled them to be where they are.
I don't hate the rich or even envy them. Being incredibly successful or even being born into wealth is nothing to hate or be ashamed of. I despise the mindset of people that hate others for that. I just don't like how so many struggle to get by despite the work and time they put in while the top rakes in so much "excess" wealth.
Charity is nice but not all charities are as effective as they ought to be, many divert hefty funds to their leadership and administration. And I don't have total faith in the government to manage the money as well as they ought to either.
I don't have the answers or the knowledge, I'm just an ignorant kid who wants a nice solution but understands things are very complex.
Almost all the people I know who say "eat the rich" are among the most obnoxious and unpleasant people. Ignorant too. And almost all of them lazy, poor students. A few of them ironically quite well off. This is probably out of a misplaced guilt and wanting to "atone" for their privilege which is just utter nonsense promoted by a lot of people these days.

The best way to describe the diverse vs woke distinction is the latter almost always includes a 'black/POC character' with zero depth and millennial/tumblr-tier rhetoric for a personality, while the former has 'characters who happen to be black/POC' and doesn't make their entire identity about 'is it because I'm [insert characteristic]'.
