- County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer calls San Diego "ground zero" for a growing trend of giant financial corporations buying up residential homes, hurting renters.
100K a year is no longer enough to survive in San Diego county. Homes are out of reach and rents are devastating. It’s gotta change.
Time to move to midwest where homes are $150K
The city is actively letting developers do whatever they want. Who do you think developers are? Corporate interests.
6 comments? How sad... no one cares?
Wheres the NIMBYS, apparently corporate buy outs are ok huh..
I seriously doubt if there are any sole proprietors owning rental properties. Hence, all rentals are owned by corporations, either LLCs, S Corps or C Corps. Also, only corporations build affordable housing, based on funding by govts, either through tax incentives or outright grants. Therefore, it is Terra who is funding corporations to be able to buy up properties but she is probably irony impaired.
Local corporations are different than foreign ones, and people run LLC’s as a liability measure. However many things can be done to influence local ownership and push back foreign ownership.
@@Greenskies321 Local can be a relative term. I can own properties in San Diego and still live over 20 miles away from them and let a mgt company run the rentals. But I do admit, I don't have a solution, just comments.
