Thank you very much for this tutorial sir. It is explained step by step, easy to understand. Thanks to your information I was able to replace the (20 year old) original one with a new one. Center bolt was rusty which explained the high pitch squeaking sound. Keep up the good work! Kind regards!
Thanks for this. Well laid out and very helpful! I also saw your advice about replacing with a new motor rather than a used one if replacement required. Thanks again.
Great Video, amazing explanation! Thanks a lot man. I have a bad smell problem when the heater is on. But no smell when AC is on at cold. I already replaced the cabin filter but didn’t help at all. Do you think this will help? Or it’s something else?
Could be that there was some animal in the vents. Usually the smell is from running ac on cold not the heater and it smells like mold for a few minutes if you didn't stop the ac before stopping the car
i have 9n 2006, ac blower makes noise at level 3 and 4,when put wd-40 the noise reduced to some point. But i could hear like the motor touches somewhere when stopping the car. The chances are loose mounting or unbalanced rotation..is there anything i can do before getting a new one?
6 not 7 screws need to be removed to take the motor out. There are 2 screws on the left are for the air recirculation flap control motor. That doesn't need to be removed. 6 screws, sorry for the mistake. 😅
Thank you for a very instructive video. I was wondering however, if you could get access to the blower motor bearing, and given it some oil or WD 40, wouldn’t that have helped to eliminate the noise? I have a squeaky blower and was thinking this might help. I have not taken the blower off yet.
Awesome video man! Really kind of you to share your knowledge. I have a problem with my polo 9n from 2007. Only on the coldest temperature it is blowing cold air... When I turn it 1 small bit it immediately get's hot. Do you know what it possibly can be????
I had a similar problem. Safest thing is to get a ODB2 scanner - vag com. If you have any codes related to the the v68 motor, thats it. There’s a potentiometer in the v68 that can be cleaned with contact cleaner. I cleaned it a few times with contact cleaner spray then tried to clean it with wd40 and it’s been great for a long time. Wd40 keeps it good longer than the other stuff. Just do it slowly and don’t bend the metal contacts on it. Carbon dirt gathers on it and confuses the ECU about where the motor is positioned. Then it goes crazy going hot or cold on its own. When cleaning mine, I didn’t record it... it was a long time ago. Search for vw polo v68 motor potentiometer cleaning. ODB scanner is the way 😅
I have VW polo -06 and tried to do this, but the interior is built differently. Got the glove box off easily, but then there were a lot more wires and beams that aren't there in older Polos. So didn't succeed this time, maybe I have to give it another shot later 🫣 The noice coming from the fan is killing me tho 😂
Hi. Removing this fan seems to be like piece of a cake but I could not do it. After 2 hours battle I succeeded to unscrew one of all 7 screws only. Could you please explain to the beginner how exactly to reach each of the 7 screws. Thanks in advance.
It's not easy but it can be done. Use both a long 15-20cm screwdriver and a short one 5-10cm. I think I've shown the number of screws but to record unscrewing them would be almost impossible. Maybe I could have done it but didn't want to spend 5h sweating on the thing. Most important is to remove the glove box and pull that tray a bit - no need to remove just the screws. A thin small but powerfull work light or even a mobile light is a must. First use the light to locate all screws, you can gently pull the fluffy insulation back but don't apply pressure around the AIRBAG! Anything with the YELLOW color, treat it like fragile egg shells. Yellow is danger - the airbag unit and wires. Your head goes where feet usually go and try to use long or short screwdriver depending on each screw. Use screwdrivers made from one piece, not with interchangeable bits. Hope you can do it.
I have the same car, in winter when i use the heater it somehow let's the aircon gas escape, the problem is that i have to refill the gas every summer, the mechanics tell me that they don't detect any leaks in the system. Help please😢
Made a video but it's not finished and uploaded yet. Heater core behind engine 2 hoses go in firewall. It's behind the dashboard deep within. I wouldn't remove it but flush the hoses back and forward with water to clean them.
Jay Yaqoob I cleaned it. Was really full of dust. It didn't really go away it just became less noisy on speed 2. Speed 1 has no noise at all. Since then, I purchased a new blower motor and will install it when I'm in the mood :) sooner if it becomes more noisy again. The new blower motor sits in the box until then. I've changed this motor before with a used one. In conclusion, when it's noisy, replace it with a new motor not a used one. 😅 Will make a short video with the old vs new motor eventually.
Ouch, replacing the ac compressor for that is a bit too much. Better scan the car with an obd2 tool on the hvac system and it should have errors related to the flap position intermittent or similar.
@@marcillinoryneveld6378 the resistor is for the motor to work on speed 1-3, when that fuse is blown, motor works only on speed 4. Your problem sounds like the recirculation clap motor, make a video recently with that. Find it in the car playlist

Thanks this helped, my motor was making noise only to find out plastic was stucked inside
If your polo has an intact cup holder you are a legend
It's not intact at all. A leg is missing and the cover. That thing is probably the first to break in these cars haha
Thanks for the instructions! The mechanic wanted €500 to do this over here in Norway, money well saved. Multumesc!
Wow! Cu placere!

Great video mate. I need to replace the recirculation flap motor.
Could you explain how i would do that please?
Its helps to replace the heater resistor too. This is a good video

Thanks Kevin! 😀
A used motor is what I chose the first time and had to replace it again after about 1-2 years.

Seems like it went silent when you pressed it in the right place, maybe a loose mounting spot makes the motor unbalanced and it vibrates?

Thanks for the quick responding. I'm gonna try to fix this because it's getting annoying;)

hi ty fr the video i have a problem with the heater it blows with max heat or max cold , and somtimes when u have AC on cold it changes to max hot
Theres a potentiometer near the recirculator flap. WD40 in that fixes it but you have to take it out first and its not very easy.
I need to know where the cable connects to change from hot to cold. My cable came off and I need to put it back.
Awesome. Mine was small plastic bag that got sucked up. Now i've just realised i didn't replug the glovebox vent. ohh well.

Great video.
Helped a lot!
Thank you very much
Thanks for the nice comment! :)
Why didn t you tried to lubricate the motor? It could help
It's hard to get the motor out and its dusty in there. You don't want to do this every year.
Hi did the problem go away! Or did you replace the motor

I have question, Mine blows only warm air. What's the problem?
Motor position potentiometer near the air recirculator flap.
Mine only blows cold.
good 👍
Thank you for the video!
