Thanks, I have some of these around I got a few years ago. The test is in line with others I’ve seen, it stops bullets but the tiles crumble quickly, and it is not full 10x12 coverage. Good enough to keep around as backup plates or to hand to a friend.
Great test as always, thank you. Much Prefer multi-curve, to the point now that it’s a deal breaker if they don’t have the plate option, as it makes that much of a difference if you need to wear your kit for any type of time. Thanks again.
@@BuffRANGE It's stiff from the inside like it's got UHMWPE edge to edge, but I can push it down a bit, on Strike face, near edge. hmmm 🤔, ok I torn it apart a bit and it's chinese edge to edge!
@@isuwish73 The UHMWPE is always E2E. Generally speaking if the plate is 10"x12" and weighs under 6.5-7lb, it doesn't have edge to edge. You can take a Stanley knife and press an inch in from the edge and if it goes through it's got a foam ring.
How can you tell what their "Gen 1" is? I bought a pair a year or two ago, is there a specific marking? That huge gap on the sides is pretty upsetting.
it's hilarious the tactical gear reddit community loses their heads on mira but yet their armor is quite impressive for something so lightweight and low priced just wished they had edge to edge protection
Mira has only sold this Gen 1 for some time, and now their NIJ Cert offerings and thier lightweight option are Hesco plates. I don't think Mira ever sold steel.
@@TimothyMark7 They only resell 3 Hesco plates right now. 2 Level IV's and 1 Level III+. Pure PE panels can get very expensive. What are you looking to spend?
I think a lot of people have wanted a mira test

You as well
WOO, I use their mask, so I hope the plate works well too

Pretty amped to see this one
I might have already watched it if you have but have you shot guard dog body armor lvl 4 Ridgebacks?
Only for R&D
@BuffRANGE ughh I want to see you push it past it's limits
I'm impressed, but wish it had edge to edge coverage.
Question. How do I check if my ceramic plate has edge to edge strike face? (chinese no name), guy who sold me said that it's edge to edge, but I dunno
You can take a fingernail and push down hard on the plate.

@@BuffRANGE thx for info, knife didn't go through. (6.8 lb plate) phew

They only recently started selling the Hesco white labels this year. If it looks like the above, then it's their original model.

@@TimothyMark7 I would agree that this plate was not worth $250. More value priced at 150-160 given the market. But it did do its job.
@@BuffRANGE yeah that's true it's just I saw some level 4 plates cost 300$ with similar build quality
I wonder how much is their level 4 plates?
or if they sell steel plates frag coated

@@BuffRANGE OOOOH gotcha, do they sell poleythylene plates at affordable prices or just their standard sized 10x12 plates.

@@BuffRANGE OOOOH I see, and well probably around 200$ for some 8x10 plates for potential extremity coverage
But they're not $2,800? I though that I HAD to spend like 3k to stop a round?
Who said that ?
Sub 1k for a decent set of plates
@@BuffRANGE I'm just goofin, i'm safe here from TREX and deleting comments is all. Keep it up your stuff is fantastic !
@@jaredwhite693 Was this in reference to their Hesco and Lab visit?
@@BuffRANGE yes, buddy of mine posed the question on there of price & plate performance and was nuked from orbit.
