I purchased the Lor barista machine it had a wonderful creama I never had before it is just wonderful I recommend the Lor to anyone who wants to experience the great taste of a wonderful esspresso with some awesome natural creams it's amazing

I have the Vertuo and love it but I think it worth saying one thing I see as a negative. This is not genuine ‘crema’ but foam created by the way the pod is spun - my Nespresso original creates genuine ‘crema’ which is created by a combination of water pressure and oils in the coffee. Personally I love genuine ‘crema’ but often remove the Vertuo ‘foam’ with a spoon!!! Sorry to be a bit geeky!! 😂
I always remove the foam first, too.
The foam is why I quit using the vertuo. It’s too thick.

Vertuo locks you into Nerspresso only. L’OR fits the XL pods plus all other standard size pods you can get anywhere.
The Nespresso original is only espresso; the vertuo line does coffee, espresso, carafe size; I think there are 5 different sizes. I don't think I can go back to regular coffee.
We tried the filter coffee from Nespresso and ended up giving the rest of the sleeve to our son as they tasted bland. As I haven’t tried the Lor machine and watching this video I do not feel inclined to try it out. Never the less it looks an excellent machine for limited space and availability. On a separate note I have ordered a taster pack from a company called Roar Gill, they have home compostable pods and have a good reviews. Will let you know how they taste! Many thanks as always and now off to make a large coffee😂 the sun is shining down here in Whitstable so able to actually sit out in the garden and enjoy it! Keep cool!

To be fair the Vertuo doesn't produce crema, it's just froth from being spun at a very high speed, put a nescafe in a liquidiser and it'll give you the same 'crema' as the Vertuo if not more. James Hoffman demonstrates it perfectly at 17:20 in this video ua-cam.com/video/pO06RC4pvr0/v-deo.html
In reality, it doesn't really matter. Those of us (even some of us being past baristas), who no longer want to do a 12-step process pulling a shot of "real espresso with real crema" and then deal with all the cleanup between pulls and have MOVED ONTO making our lives easier with a Nespresso machine don't care in the slightest. Is the foam on top of a Nespresso coffee mostly just whipped air? Sure. Are the bubbles and froth in a nitro cold brew mostly just whipped air? Yes, and as air is 78% nitrogen, some "nitro" coffees don't even inject pure nitrogen, and just inject air. What matters are the bubbles. Just like bubbles in a carbonated beverage matter unless you like the taste of flat soda/beer. Bubbles affect aroma, texture and taste. Nespresso knows this and have capitalized on it.
I can get up in the morning and get ready for work and make an entire latte with my Nespresso Vertuo machine and Aeroccino milk frother with less than a minute's work done by me as I'm packing the rest of my lunch. I fully understand people who enjoy the hobby of traditional espresso, and love tinkering with things like a Gaggiuino project, but the older I get, I find I want to make my life simpler.
@@cwills75well said. As I get older, the convenience far outweighs the “experience” of making espresso/coffee drinks. My time is valuable.
If the L’Or machine can use both types of pods then that’s a plus in my book. They tout it having a high bar pump so I wanted to know what kind of results others have gotten.
@@cwills75 You missed the point. You can get more authentic crema from the L'or. Your argument was about not doing all the extra work to get it and getting into technical details that aren't really relevant to what the OP said. L'or vs Nespresso Vertuo, the L'or makes more authentic crema, same amount of work, being you pop a pod in and it does it's thing.
The filter coffee looks like it would have been much better if you had removed it as soon as it started just spurting out hot water to fill the cup. The last 3-5 seconds of brewing are usually just boiling water to get the cap to produce the right amount of finished product. Essentially it is the exact same as the other pods, only it adds water at the end to make the volume go up.
I had the Vurto and liked it but what annoyed me most was being tied to buying the pods direct from nespresso. But with the Lor pods being able to be bought in shops is handy for me as I can get a discount which saves me money.
I have to say I actually preferred the Vurtuo Plus to the Next.

I have the assenza mini and vertuo next. I'm thinking of using the mini in my bedroom and thinking about the set up regarding uht milk sachets etc I remember in one of your videos you mentioned choosing one for your bedroom. Have you done it and if so what set up have you got? Thanks 👍
Hi 👋 That’s a great question. I did have one in my bedroom for a while but we moved and haven’t had one since. If I were to do it again I’d probably still go with the Essenza mini just because it’s so compact and quiet and also fairly cheap compared to some of the other machines. If you aren’t needing to froth your milk then milk sachets sounds like a great idea ☕️🙂👍🏼 Be great to hear what you decide!
@@A2BProductions I agree, well at the moment I have the older Assenza Mini (the square krups) with the Amazon pop drawer under it with coffee and UHT milk pots in there too and seems to be a good set up so far! Thanks for the videos btw 👍

The crema from the Lor machine is exactly as it should be .. not , in my opinion , an artificial foam as per latest Nespresso.

I sent my L’or back I loved the machine but I used their own double xxl capsules and they were flat as a pancake and that was all of them every one of the multi complimentary pack. It also had an ordinary sized variety pack all flat too. I even tried the capsules I normally use in it and they were flat in this machine. Fine in the nesspresso but not in the L’or. Shame because it’s a nice machine but the one I got couldn’t produce a crème with any capsule. Im not confused my usual capsules came out flat in this machine, maybe it was broken but there’s not much to get confused about really. It’s as easy as they come not high tech at all.

Not sure if you've done this, but can you please taste test the same Original Line pod from the Sublime machine and a Nespresso machine? I think the Sublime machine could be a cheaper alternative to an OL machine if you want both Vertuo and Original lines.
We haven’t yet but that’s a great idea… maybe with espresso and lungo pods 🤔

Hi 👋 Sounds like you might be the sort of person they aim the Nespresso Professional machines at like the Zenius Machine. Have you seen those? I haven’t tried one yet but hopefully get hold of one to review in future. Do you think you’ll need a frother too or will your staff most likely just add some milk from a carton? If you don’t like the Pro machines then I’ve found the Citiz a sturdy reliable machine and have heard that the Pixie is too. Hope this helps a bit.

Nespresso is a bit more over the top. Most of their coffee taste the same. I buy second party coffee.
The Vertuo isn’t producing crema it’s froth 🤪
I agree, there is some sort of ‘air injection’ going on, most of the foam/froth tends to collapse fairly quickly.
