Funny enough I just got one of those sata to usb adapters so I can copy data from some older 3.5" HDD, I was thinking of getting an enclosure one but there was no point cause i keep recovering data and returning the drives. - funny side story i got it for free because of some error error from the shipping company :)) - I hope you get that GPU dock soon ! That is what i wanna see.
OWNorDISOWN wait a sec, do some USB cord have a symbol one them so you can see the right way to plug them !! I have never seen one, and i had a decent amount of USB cords. I should probably look for it :)) but as the position is standard on how usb ports are oriented it usually is not a problem. Also how is the microsoft surface ? Just came to mind since they announced a new one.
DWolf Review that PCIe dock arrived! I'll work on this weekend.. Yes, there is a symbol on one side, makes it easier to see which way to plug it in... The new surface is just a minor refresh to Kaby Lake. I love my Surface Book, out of all my computers I use it the most (apart from my htpc perhaps). I just bought the Lenovo 720 with Gtx 1050. I feel a bit sad as if I was to keep it I will have to sell my Surface Book. If I do I will wear a black arm band as Mark of respect, lol.

Hi, i bought one of this orico enclosure, it´s 2139C3-CR, it say´s that it´s suports up tp 10 gpbs, i´ve tested it with a kingston ssd 120Gb. If i put it on my usb 3.1 gen 1port it gives me a 250~300 mb/s transfer speed. If I put it on my usb 3.1 gen 2 port it gives me a transfer speed of 42~50 mb/s? do you have any clue about it?
This is awesome specially for people that only have one drive bay and want to get an SSD to run the OS system. Swap out the hdd for the ssd and put the hdd in here for storage.
Andres Gandara yes, it does add that extra flexibility and I like that you can get great speeds by putting an ssd in. Perhaps even installing games on there.

Idrees Mohad Hi mate, that seems to be on the high side when browsing the Internet. I would have expected something more in the high 30s to 40s range. Perhaps something was going on in the background. Your prime 95 temp is great. What do you get say running Timespy or BF1?

hqhqhqhqhq food I don't think there is anyway to switch between the dedicated graphics and the integrated in the desktop cpu unless you take out the dedicated one which would be pointless. I do have a Sager np9873 coming in. The GT73vr you can manually switch. You can upgrade the GPU in that but not the cpu..

Missing user manual that (I guess) shows how you prise the case apart for SSD insertion, unfortunately that physical bit isn't here either!?!

That USB dock is likely MSC only, whereas the newer Orico one has UASP which is why it's faster.

That is very strange. Gen 2 should be double the transfer rate..

I think it was just the write speed on SSD that was slower, all the rest were faster on the desktop. Perhaps just an anomaly..
