Luke, love your channel. Thanks for taking a look. Love from Hans.
Love the interaction with the fan base bro, happy you've gotten the glow up between kcd 2 and the dlc
The question on everyone's mind is, will we see the return of Arse'n'balls?
When I saw you and 'Henry' announce the game, I squealed like a 5yo on Christmas morning. Cheers.
Love your acting so much. Can't wait to play KCD2!
Those hacks at kotaku have you and the game in their sights, but fuck em keep on truckin
I love that it wasn't announced 2 years in advanced. They kept quiet and waited until they were sure the game would be ready. Doing that puts less pressure on the Dev team.
Agree wholeheartedly. We've all wanted a green light for so long, I'm so happy they waited to be able to say "this year" with certainty. ❤️
Yeah, I prefer it when they do this. Like when they announced RDR2, it was months away from release.
random but love your pfp 🐴
@@elisandersson3186 Thank you. I had it commissioned years ago when I used to stream games. I often get called a furry though, even though I am not. Just because I like foxes and have a cartoon fox avatar. People are weird. 😆
@@elisandersson3186 Thank you. I owned a 69 Mustang when I was much younger and regret selling it.
Their passion for the project really shows. Was a fan of the first game and can’t wait for this.
It's quite refreshing, it feels like they're truly proud to be showing you what they've been up to, rather than just trying to sell a product
I bought the first one on launch, but my rig could barely must 10 fps at the time (cobbled togther build). I loved the intro so much I didnt return it and waited a year for a new pc build to finally play it. Truly amazing storytelling and rpg elements
Yeah, the passion is heart warming. Compared to the bland, soulless reveal of Avowed it's a completely different league.
More I am listening to interviews with devs more crazy it gets 😂 just saw interview for German journalist where lead developer said that if you pass out outside, npcs may steal your stuff and then you can find npc wearing your stuff😂😂😂
Hype makes stupid right?
Guess I'm a major idiot. I absolutely loved the first game.
And seeing Henry so grown-up and bad ass, makes me feel like a proud dad.
I thought him the swordfighting and picking flowers and brewing poisons.
He's my boy!
I know for people in America the whole setting looks a bit surreal, or often more like something out of a fairy tale or fantasy story, but this game depicts the late Middle Ages in central Europe quite accurately. I live in a Region of Bavaria which is part of the Bohemian region as in the game, along with the Czech Republic and Austria, and I can confirm that most of Bohemia still looks like this today. The music is also based on the typical Christian church music, only more epic of course 😉
Greetings from Bavaria
So you are from upper Falc? Also called New Bohemia back then?
Sorry if i miss spell name
Yes! Kingdom Come was the only game that really scratched that Oblivion itch
Skipped out on the first game. I’ve learned my lesson & will be a day one supporter for this one
I lucked out and didn't play for the first time until most of the dlc had been out along with lord knows how many patches.... I'm really hoping it's fully cooked this time around because there's literally no chance of me waiting a moment past day one
Best RPG in history. Soon to be second best.
Get it and play it now Josh, got the Royal edition just the other day on Xbox live for $3.99
highly recommend giving it a chance it's a masterpiece especially if you are a fan of old school
@@cml007the game was good on release lol the glitches helped me max out my archery cause when enemies hit me i flew up or they flew up and i was able to pick them off
Game reveal was next level. Wish other game studios would follow this path 😢
Swans fan detected in the wild. We’re the same person bro
@joshuatealeaves Sup mane! Always nice to see a Swans enjoyer!
Yes they didn’t announce it two years before it drop
What was next level about it?
It was incredibly tasteful.
The creative director in the reveal literally posted on your review lol. That aside, I really, really think this is going to be something special and I know it's been said elsewhere but I truly think this is going to be a witcher 3 moment for warhorse.
Btw literally zero chance of 60 fps on console (I say this as a console warrior), truly wish 40 fps would become the norm for us 120hz panel owners, but I would be stunned if even that is an option. Don't care though game can't come soon enough
I think a witcher 2 moment tbh
@cml007 ps5 pro
@@SWOTHDRA we'll see, I'm somewhat dubious on how many 3rd party developers will go out of their way to really separate a pro version from the base, but I'd love to be wrong
@@SWOTHDRAmore like ps6 does not seem like the ps5 pro is gonna be much better so I think ps6 will have to have massive improvements in CPU and GPU and ram
I never found the game clunky aside from that dang dog. The fighting was frustrating but I was unstoppable once I learned, and looked forward to battles, the more enemies, the better. Other than that, never had an issue.
There is video in czech with lead designer of KCDII about systems and developement. It is interesting video itself, but most importatnt for us playes may be info about combat system.
For a lot of players it was too hard, but hey don't want to break the immersion by just leaving it behind.
So they researched why it is so dificult for most players and realised, that 5 pointed star is unnatural for players. (I have to agree, even tho I love that system, I just couldnt get my mouse to right position. And it was also hard to remember combos for me.)
So even tho complexity of the combat will stay, or will be even more deep and complex, there will be just 4 pointed star - up, down, lefr, right (and stab in the middle off course), to fell more naturally.
I have to say, I am glad for this decision.
It will be easier for players to do it, but will not loose anything fot its originality tha no other game have. Love it.
Easy to learn, hard to master is what they are aiming for im guessing :) the mouse sensitivity on the direction wheel is what is making it difficult for me. However i got used to it after a short time.
I loved the original and can't wait to see how the Devs have learned and evolved over the years. It's not everyday, let alone every year we get a good sequel.
You can pet the dog... I'm in.
its going to be a great year for medieval games!!! getting a medieval city builder Manor Lords in early access this week and now getting Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 as well!!
Let's gooo! I'm gonna replay KCD and get all the achievements I've missed before the release
Same I’m about to replay as well!
I allready started yesterday
I never even finished the first game, but I was blown away at how awesome and complex it really was, this sequel will get my full attention and I think I'll commit to finishing this one hahaha
They way they responded to your review says it all!
I’ve been waiting for you to speak on this. I’m super stoked for it
First time on the channel, the audio quality is amazing and cool looking studio.
Best gaming news ever, the first game was hard to start with but if you actually take the time & learn your skills then it quickly becomes an incredibly rewarding experience, by far the best rpg I’ve played.
KCD was a wonderful game that through passion and talent made a stand among the best in the industry despite being held back by limited resources. While not perfect it was artistic, fun, unique and immersive. One of the best games I’ve ever played and definitely the best first outing of any studio. To see them have the success they deserved to make a game they want to but previously couldn’t makes me happy. These are the types of projects that shows that video games can be art and makes me proud to be a gamer
Coming full circle! First video I ever watched of yours was the critique on the first kingdom come and now we’re here 😊
Holy crap a AAA game that actually looks good? What a wave of nostalgia this trailer brings me..
IKR !
I am so excited for this. I loved the shit out of KCD 1.
That attitude for embracing feedback was also part of the development for Dark Souls 1. After the release of Demons Souls Miyazaki setup a monitor in the office with scrolling criticisms for all devs to see and that led to the innovations From Software has deployed ever since.
Henry was still hungry to these day
RE: Starfield at 30 fps. Its super rough when you market your console as the "WORLDS MOST POWERFUL CONSOLE!" but all of your flagship exclusives have launched at 30
Looks like they’re adding smithing finally. I loved that they had repairing skills, but I actually wanted to MAKE my swords. Makes sense Henry would have even a slight interest in smithing considering his dad
I’ll say this right now, after playing the first game several times through, I’ll have ZERO issues with paying full price for this game.
You’re wrong on a ray tracing. When done well, it looks better than no game can without it, but i’d also agree most of the time it’s not worth the performance hit.
There are also some really solid “rtx emulation” type implementations, but like you said there is a big difference when it comes to following the various elements of lighting and reflection.
AC Unity had "Baked Lighting" which still looks phenomenal 10 years later
The game looks absolutely amazing. Great trailer, great presentation. Very hyped for this. Luckily I have the supercomputer to run it 😁
My most anticipated game . Loved the 1st one ❤.
YES!! been waiting for a new video, and this on is almost 40 M long, you are the best Luke!!!!🫶🫶
I hadnt plated the first one yet. But I decided to watch the reveal anyway. Mid stream i got a steam notification it was on sale. Jumped on that one fast.
The first game was rough but fun and its good to see the studio accepting the critique and work on improve rather they try to sweep under the rug.
I haven't had really any technical issues with KCD in my current playthrough. I haven't maxed all settings, so maybe that happens when you do, (that being said, game looks beautiful on High settings anyways) but if you're not trying for that it should run perfectly fine.
Also, this developer does forests better than anyone else. I'm so looking forward to riding through the forests in this game and marveling at how detailed the vegetation and undergrowth is.
YESSS GUNPOWDER WEAPONS!!!!!!!!!!!
I played first game on my old computer and big fights were really laggy. But the immersion was so strong I saw it as part of the battle, where you can barely concentrate on one target and try your best. I tried HEMA and it was pretty similar feeling for me, after few minutes all you think about is slash, block, retreat.
Can we just all give tom and luke a standing ovation ahead of time! We already know there performances are going to be amazing
KCD 1 was really immersive to me. I did live in that era. Can't wait for 2 this end year.
Being receptive to critique is how you improve, glad they're all about that and I'm looking forward to KCD 2
KCD is a great game. I started my 6th or something playthrough just last month. I'm very happy Warhorse is continuing Henry's story. I can't wait to play this game. Day one.
I would have liked to be playing another nobody, but I'm still very happy at a direct sequel. Also I wonder if you can import your save from the first one.
As a history buff I hope history buffs channel does a video about this game in the future
You forgot the 3rd group of people. 70 percent of gamers dont care about framerate. Just resolution and crystal clear image.
i know its kind of a petty part of the story but i hope they focus on the sword aspect from the first game as well
I hope they combat system is smoother and reactive when doing combos.
heard the game been in the works for a long time i think it going to be good performance bigger map raids and bigger scale battles so also they have way more devs working on this one compared to first
CHALLENGE: Let your first KCD 2 playthrough be in Hardcore Mode.
31:20 look up Predjama castle. It's a beautiful stronghold inside and around a mountain in Slovenia.
It was made into a cool counter strike map as well
Lets pray its not broken like 1st was on release 😇
Really cant wait for a smoother KGD experience. So much stuff done right but just clunky as you said.
Never played the 1st one but I’m hyped to dive in to this and maybe explore the 1st the one as well .Well done 👏🏾
Do it
Started playing the first game 1 week ago. It is amazing. So hyped for the sequel.
Cant wait for all the bug memes to follow!
I really wanted to love the first one and I tried multiple times to play it but something didn’t quite click. Hopefully, I can get into this one👍🏻
The crime system sounds more novel than it is. But even the Oblivion system outranks most open world games to date, in which you can pick up anything in any home with no reaction.
i'm excited for the improved combat in kcd2
Finally. It is been long wait.still playing kcd 1 sometimes(only 500 hours so far).
Can't wait for it. KCD Masterpiece. I hope for VR mode too.
KCD is one of my favorite games ever made. this and Avowed are my 2 games im looking forward to.
We're so back, man, we're so fucking back
KCD runs pretty good on my ryzen 5 5600 and rx6600 which is not exactly a supercomputer lol, but yes the game was very demanding back in 2018 (and it still can be if you max out your settings)
odd, just pretty good? i have r5 1600 with rx570 and it runs smooth.
Happy to see Henry is back.
About 130 ppl worked on KCD1
I'm super excited about this! I've played my share of jank in my time, so this type of game is no deal-breaker for me, hence why I picked up the original a while back. Haven't played it yet but I'm glad I waited so that all of the improvements and DLC could come through.
That said, if your game is going to come out these days most likely running an average 30fps and isn't pushing graphical boundaries, you have to expect your review score to be a maximum of 8/10 if every other part is running on all cylinders. I hope they're preparing to exceed those expectations.
12:55 for real though… I think fps at 40-45 looks perfect. Great balance of fidelity and performance.
I wonder how starting level is gonna work? given that Henry learned a lot of things in the first game
This is gonna be epic!
Patience is a a virtue.
Guess I’m gonna have to try and get back into the first one, gave up on it.
About time
I hope they don’t make it too easy and accessible. I loved how difficult and realistic the first game was combat wise. Felt like the progression was real
Play the first one an I love it cause the open world but the combat was a lil complicated for me but I learn hopefully the combat is not that complicated next game
My Kingdom is Coming for their Deliverance of this sequel
I can relate so much with him, idgaf about fps, 4K is more than enough.
Tom McKay is from Hull, which is in the county I live in.
This studio is the best out right now
The problem with FPS is drops,if a game was 30 and NEVER dropped it would be fine and you wouldn't notice it, starfield for example is 30 and drops to 15 often. That's the issue, especially in single player games.
Make 40 fps at 1440p the standard. It’s the sweet spot for me, but ultimately consistency is what matters with fps
Sadly Kingdom Come, even at 40 fps, has so much frame time differences that it always appears lagging
Around the day there were around 80-90 people working in the studio.
Still not that many people for the job done.
By the end of development it was around 120
Fps wise , it depends on the game type . FPS shoote with high fps is a must but for slow games like KCD 30fps is ideal but I wouldn't be happy if I couldn't have more even for this game.
In my case I run kdc on ma settings with around 60 to 80 fps , on high settings ill get over 130fps .
I think it's playable in 30fps but I wouldn't play it at this speed as I'm used to gaming at high fps .
Meeting in the middle for 60 frames is 30 not 45.
Can confirm that your critique directly led to my purchase of the game. I found the combat to be extremely difficult but still liked the game
Cryengine has me a little worried if im being honest, but I have faith they can pull it off
So excited for KDC2! Played around 100 hours on the original and still haven’t finished it! Great game! So unique!
IM SO READY, loved the first, day 1 played through bugs and all, cant play thoruogh those kinds of bugs nowadays though, but they had made a fantastic foundation
for fps, if its elden ring grphics, i want 60 or better, if its a graphical powerhouse with a great story, 30 is fine
Journos will complain about Diversity 😅
There was plenty of that with the first one.
@@kojk2545 yeah just like FF16
That is about the only thing they are good at these days. Sad.
They've already started. Vavra doesn't give AF.
@@KnightSoulsG oh yes FF16 the game that is based of japan the very "diverse" nation lol
I played the first when it first came out. For a long time I could not save because of a glitch. I lost progress and put it down for good.
I came when i saw they uploaded a trailer 😌
Pumped!!
Greetings from Bohemia, I hope you will enjoy the game as I did the first title and I'm so thrilled for the second, it's hard to express that. But guys even the first game had some flaws, it was unique and really immersive. At last Henry's come to see us!
Kinda hoping the next one doesn’t change graphical fidelity drastically and have instead spent years optimising how the experience runs alongside development. The trailer does show off ‘heavier’ scenes but that could be a company super computer. So excited the first game is god tier.
We did it ! Ww3 didn't start before kcd2
This will be goty
Can’t wait to pet a truly next gen doggo
Is there any reason game developers always shoot for either 30 frames or 60 frames instead of maybe going for like 45 or something ? I feel like just being above 30 even if it’s an incremental step is going to look and play smoother
because most tvs are 60 hz and 60 is divisible by 30 but not by 45.
I did really enjoy the first game despite the clunk. It’s a very unique and enjoyable game with some bad ass armor. Can’t wait for the second one!!!
12:30 idk Luke, playing Path of exile end game, nioh, dark souls, any shooter, being stuck at 30fps and then getting a ps5 and getting to play at 60fps, the games look better and I am not dying to super fast/small enemies because it’s easier to see them and I’m given twice the frames to react and judge.
Watching a story based game try to show a cool scene but it’s at 30fps, it is straight up a visual downgrade. 30fps is simply choppy and outdated to many people, and even here on console, the framerate between 30-60 is the difference between life and death in the game, the difference between a stunning showcase and a stuttering mess. It’s simply a feature that should be in everyone’s hands at a minimum. Devs have grown lazy, and decline learning from Devs prior to them that pulled off a better looking game at a better framerate a decade ago. Being denied that effort from the dev is a lack of problem solving, or simply not wanting to put money that direction which tarnishes a players experience either way
I'm on a 1920x1200 laptop with a 4070 and an i9-13900, and I am not confident that I'm going to be consistently hitting 60fps. If I'm making 45 I'll be very happy. I can live with 30.
On my computer it ran pretty smooth, but i can't record, my framerate dips to 5 fps. But hey, beautuful game needs a beautuful rig. But you're true, RDR2 is still playable maxed out, so they need optimisation before they release the game.
