Women are more of a sceptic, and caution of when it comes to both men or women, and for different reasons, I think. They are more likely to observe and try to understand at first. While men may come across different women, as they more have an inborn desire to protect and care for women, and may find it easier to get along women than men at first as well. Hello M J. If you'd like to understand the people of the island, research the 'Maroons'. It will also enlighten you as to why there is no help for the people of Jamaica, Similar to Haiti. There are documentary's on the history of the Maroons but, find one with an African american who documented the story. I feel its the only way to get the true story. Interesting question about women in Jamaica. What you observe is most likely a coincidence, but some Jamaican women may think that a White woman visiting the country have Ulterior Motives, and some may have inferior complex with White women.
"InferiorITY complex with white women", why? Cos white women are somehow superior? Perhaps that's why Mary Jane feels ENTITLED to parade around the globe expecting these inferior beings to roll out the red carpet in deference to, and celebration of her superior whiteness! Why not ask Google about the role of Jamaican women? You'd see that 80+% of them graduate from university compared to men. You'll see that Jamaican women are numbered among the top executives worldwide, claims the UN. You'll see that Jamaican women have no time or patience to hang around bars in the middle of the day to smile and nod at the fragile Mary Janes of this world, they have better things to do, like work for a living. What a shame Mary Jane!
I am Jamaican and I am wondering if though we are down to earth if you get to know us (women), could it be that we are not as trusting or open to strangers like our men are.
With me being born and grew up jamaican in trelawny parish i myself av live among jamaican rastafarians and dats my people dats my brothers and sisters i av got the expérience of dealing wid mostly rastafarians jamaican brothers like on construction sites working among them they decent honest they work and earn every penny very honestly they show up to they jobs on time every day they luv to share if it is even the last orange they av they split it in half take half and give u the other half they tell u they own story of being jamaican and being rasta so i luv dem very educated people too av never interact With females jamaican rastafarians i think they busy working and ordinary jamaican females they r powerful people they out gowing luv they jobs indépendant minded they do not sit down a complain i always said to myself seems like jamaican females r doing better economically than us jamaican men thats just my opinion with dat said one luv jamwanz jamrock jamdown jamaica miss they landscape home sick too dig hope to show up soon to grab a swim in the blus caribbean sea and av a cold beer too .is soh we talk dig
Like Taiwan... go there... the people are soooo friendly and so safe for women even at 3:00 am at night... so convenient and so high tech... easy internet
Rasta is pretty common and came from the countryside of Jamaica. It’s the old moving into town over time. The difference between the city Rasta and countryside Rasta is the way they do things. Countryside Rasta is slow paced with little hurry but none of the over the top attitudes of city life. City Rasta is high paced and over the top stuff they wear if you notice in nyc. City Rasta is like you do it because it looks cool. Unfortunately Rasta is somewhat connected to the legalization of cannabis and the fight do so in the entire US. Florida has been in a state battle on this issue before and I don’t think it’s changing much although it’s now partially legal as in we can use for medical purposes and carry small amounts but we can’t grow it nor carry beyond certain amounts. The main person behind the movement has been famous lawyer John Morgan of the law firm Morgan and Morgan. John is a good man but legalization of cannabis has been his goal for several years.
Grazie Maria, I have Jamaican friends who tell me I should go there. I have a strict diet because of health issues and they've told me most of their food aligns with my health stuff. Since then, I've dreamed of being there. Your videos are always really interesting, whether it's Iceland, NYC, or hangin with the fam in Friuli.
@@WhatashameMaryJane I have a few issues.. ha ha.. but one of the worst is I get sharp stomach pain and other symptoms from eating gluten. I watch all these NYC food videos and drool but can't eat at least 60% of it without reacting. So feel that my travelling in some ways is limited. I found out from my friends I could probably go there and have very little problem because most of their eating isn't based on or around gluten like a lot of USA/Canada. Even gluten-adjacent stuff will make me unwell. Sadly I will probably never get to taste a cronut. But I love the idea I could go somewhere and mostly not worry. And like you said, nicest people in the world.

You’re right about the camera. People in Jamaica get offended when anyone records them without their permission.

@@rocketreindeer My husband can’t eat gluten either. He’s had no problems finding food in Jamaica. Rice and corn are mostly used, bot wheat.
