  • I recently did a video title: 4 Full Guard Sweeps Every BJJ White Belt Should Learn As Early As Possible. It was fairly popular and several people asked for some open guard sweeps as well.
    So in today's video I'm going to show you 5 different BJJ sweeps from 5 different open guards that even a beginner or White Belt can use. I say this because I learned all of these sweeps as a beginner. And I teach them to my students who are newer with lots of success. I can also say that I've used every one of these sweeps in rolling or competition against Black Belts as well. So they're effective at any level.
    Hopefully after watching you'll have some extra ideas on open guard options in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
    Oh and if you'd like to watch the original video I did from full guard. You can check it out at the link below.

    As a judo guy rolling with bjj players x guard gives me the biggest problem but it challenges me to think my way out instead of trying to muscle through great content .

    It may be a boring video but I could really benefit from transitional concepts. I’m noticing the people I roll with, even newer white belts, fluidly pass guard into side control and transition to mount while I feel clunky and have less success.
    Thanks for the videos!

    As a new white belt, the sweep Tomo nage or something like that, seems dangerous for me to execute. I would worry I may cause them to land on their neck by accident

    Hi, chewy I was doing no-gi and got paired up with a wrestler with a 15kg weight advantage. We are rolling half way through the round I get tapped to an Americana which I had no problem with (even though he was being a weight bully yanking my arm). But during the last minute he takes my back and flattens me and I am defending the choke so he decideds to crank my head full force even though he is way bigger than me. I tap then I get up and tell him " that's not a submission" and walk away with 20 seconds left in the round. Can you give me your insight on this situation please

    • @fteambjj
      @fteambjj 2 роки тому +3

      If u tap u tap and its a submission. Just tell the guy not to yanked to hard on his cranks next time cause it hurt you. No need to be all dramatic. When u roll u get even 50kg++ weight partners, so what? Suck it in and keep rolling.

    Chewie it is your fault I got addicted to rolling with wet grown men :) nice guide, like usual, any tips for guard retention for 3 stripe white belt with long limbs? For most of the time Im doing ok, but hali guard is killling me, when oponent is there he will be in my side for sure, no idea how to pull him back in closed guard, prolly making some big mistakes... thx in advance

    Question, I just finished week 3, and being older (i'm 42) I went to bed with my thighs and hips sore as hell after my thursday session, but I woke up with only a sore wrist? Like, WTH? Is this what I have to look forward to, deceptive soreness? Do supplements like creatine or BCAA help?
