I feel comfortable when my opponent stays on their knees, but I have big problems when they stand up with my lasso and breaks another grip. I always feel done. These are two solutions I should try next time and maybe my nightmare will be over. Thanks a zillion, professor. Big oss

My problem is exactly the opposite. When my opponent is seated, I have trouble with the lasso. But now I’ve seen these two positions, and I’ll try them in the next class.

Hey Professor - loving the deep lasso, having a lot of success with the stuff you've showed, people aren't ready for a lot of these sweeps! Any advice on danger signs when to abandon the lasso grip? Sometimes I feel like I've held onto it a bit too long and next thing I know the grip isn't effective anymore because I've gotten out of position. Love the content!

These small details were ones I have been missing. Always getting the free leg pinned and stepped over. Often times they will go to side with the leg lasso still in and I can get lucky grabbing a pant leg and pushing them over in a pendulum/flower-like sweep but not always. This is HUUUUGE. Can’t wait to try these!

Awesome stuff, we have done passing deep lasso spider from standing today, those sweeps would have helped me a lot:) I have seen your matches and I know you are a guard player but I would really appreciate if you have done a video and about hand fighting and grips:) I added judo 4 months ago and last weekend competed and even though I was winning grip fight I was still hard to throw a guy when he was in semi crouched posture:(

Thank you so much! I'm 50 and a pretty slow guy and I started training at 45. Lasso is very important to me because it helps me slow people down and control them. I watch all of your videos on Lasso. I do however have a problem and I don't know how to recover from it. For example I have a good lasso - good grip and I have their other pant leg. But before I can get my other leg into position to sweep - they stuff all the way to the side and basically move into side control. I still have a lasso and their pant leg but they may be chest to chest. I often just let go of the lasso grip and then try to escape side control but the lasso is so strong I hate to let it go. Is there something I can do from there to recover? Thank you so much. Oss.

will be hard to explains here but let do it.
1.lasso position will only work in some angles, if you feel you are losing the grips let it go before they pass and reset your guard and build it again.
2.try to break the that he is holding on your pants and dont let the contol your sleeve, collar make sure to block the biceps thats comes to your up body.
      3. always keep your body leg free that will help you so much recovery BIG OSS i hope this helps..
once again try to understand why they are getting into side control, focus on what you are not doing thank you

Great video! I’ve been working on that “Lasso John Wayne” sweep and, like you said, I always feel like I’m taking a risk by shooting my leg through and letting them get chest to chest. What do you do if you get stuck there? 🙏

Can you help me with this situation? thank you, professor.
