It's nice to be back with a recreation tutorial, this time covering the synth keys from the start of Flume's track 'Rushing Back'. This is a versatile chord synth sound that could be used in everything from future bass and chill trap to house and rnb. I'm pretty sure the original sound is just a preset from SynPlant but I knew I'd be able to recreate something similar in Xfer Serum. Let me know in the comments below if you have any other request on Flume sounds like something off his recent 'Hi This is Flume Mixtape'.

It would be really interesting to hear your take on GØAT's track MILK, has an absurd chopped up sound that is very interesting and I can't quite figure out how to recreate it!

the plucky-glitchy synth from the last song "spring" from "hi this is flume" is just mind-bending, it will be amazing to see you recreating it!
The pluck in Spring is just a pluck preset in Serum with lots of OTT. Flume said so himself in his AMA over at /r/flume. You can get pretty close if you find a nice springy sounding saw tooth pluck and like he said just drown it in OTT.
The sound itself does not sound that complex but the notes and rythm give it that super complex feel
pls. PLEASE... do a tutorial for the glitchy growly lead stuff he does in amber or vitality. i will marry u
That's not a bad idea, I'd recommend checking out a plugin called Echobode by Sonic Charge. A lot of those sounds sound like sequenced percussion/foley with heavy frequency shifting.
Sounds like a lot of flanger and stuff
i've managed to make similar synths with fast rate chorus, with a load of feedback
and also, automation envelopes on the wet knob of reverb
first impression, those sounds definitely made out of percussive elements.

I would love for you to tackle the synth that starts at around 0:23 in Ecdysis, and the one that starts around 0:29 in Vitality. Also, if you're at all interested in some of his earlier work, the three or so synth patches in the drop in That Look ft George Maple would be awesome to get a walkthrough of. seconded on the ecdysis synth! i’ve tried to recreate it and it’s close, but as a beginner i can’t quite get it right so i’m hoping synthhacker tackles it :)
Fun fact: Flume actually used a factory preset called TH Cycling from a really cool VST called Synplant to make this sound
Lead in smoke & retribution on the drop, not the lead at the beginning but the one which came when the drums arrive !! Or the drop’s lead in some minds !!

The lead from upgrade by flume would be a pretty interesting thing to hear. Just one of the sounds I don't even have the slightest idea on how it is made. Thanks for everything as usual!

If you're talking about the sound at the beginning of the song, it's some sample from a sample pack thrown in granulator. I think someone on r/flume found the exact sample.

Please do the synth zedd intro of his song with Kehlani. I know it’s a synth but it sounds so organic.

would be awesome to see some Majid Jordan pads, particularly the ones in "Small Talk" and "Hold On, We're Going Home" - they've got this transient that sounds like jolt of electricity and it makes the chord changes really come to life
Just a low frequency pad, pretty much has all the highs taken out. Initial envelope to sustain the chord and then use another envelope with a little bit of hold and no sustain or decay on the filter cut off and on some noise. BODDABING. USE a saw and a square.

I would love to know how all these sounds are created, the pad at the beginning (in the drop filtered), the bass, the lead, the pluck, everything is beautiful but seems so simple.

I went through a serum phase with his song Amber (that clean downer bass), but now am working on his lawyered 808s now. For instance at the end of his new Blue remix, those subtle bass layers are sneaky so nice. Check it out!

@@SynthHackerTV I was wondering about a synth in the song "Flume - Vitality", it comes in at 30 seconds. It sounds like something bitcrushed. It reminds me of a synth used in The Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar (It comes in at 40 seconds), but with this bitcrush effect. About the latter, my guess is some heavy filtered rich harmonics wave. Other than that, i don't know, maybe you can check it out. Your channel is awesome!
