I really like these type of videos as opposed to the “how to make the same sound from this musician’s songs” videos. Don’t get me wrong, there’s tons to learn from those types of videos, in fact they’re why I subscribed in the first place! But from a presentation point of view, these types of videos help show off your own personal skills and knowledge, and feel much more unique to you personally.
2:43 There is a NoteOn Random Source in Serum's Modulation Matrix that pans randomly each note of a midi clip each time it plays, according to the amount you set for this effect, when combined to the destination A Pan. One can use it to widen the sound of a polyphonic synthetised instrument
4:00 Using Osc B as the FM source for Osc A, with Osc B level down to 0%, one could transpose randomly Osc B, while Osc A's pitch remains the same Using then a short enveloppe on the FM amount of Osc A from Osc B contributes to create an inharmonic attack to the whole synth that may mimic the attack of existing instruments
Goddam, your sounds are soo tasteful! 😍 And yeah, better buy to support you opposed to turning all the knobs yourself (although I like to do it myself from time to time 😋)
Very much appreciate these general synth sounddesign ideas. In the early 1990's Korg launched waveshaping as a type of effect. (referencing the Korg O1/W) This was to make sounds more organic, or in the case of instruments, more life-like. I think it was a type of amplitude modulation. Have you already experimented with this?
Love your videos❣️ i have a request, please make a video of San holo's "honest" drop lead and specially the effect he added of panning, please make the video if you can make it

I agree.
Man UA-cam is good. I thought this morning 'you know, I think I need to up my sound design game'. And here you are!
7:20 is super cool - it actually sounds like your synth is a sampler instrument when the rate changes with the key like that. Love it!
Great vid! I’ve always been lookignfor something like this, and this is short and makes total sense.
This video was incredibly insightful and I love the broader approach to sound design as opposed to the “how to create this sound” type of tutorials.
Best Sound Design Channel
This was the best video explaining synths I’ve ever seen! Thank you!
This was a great video. Thank you!
Fantastic video, and it's all about the reason I subscribed to this channel: finding things I can apply generally to my sounds. Extremely helpful.
ahhhh been waiting for another synthhacker vid! I can now understand serum because of you! thank you
