About this video: How to dribble with your head up in football is a question I am asked frequently! I find that there is a lot of confusion about this. It's not that difficult, but it's not black and white either. It will all be situational.
The fact of the matter is that no player can dribble with their head up at all times! They become as aware as they can about the space, their teammates, and their oppositions and they constantly refresh that info by looking up as often as they can!

SimplySoccer great vid btw . In the next video can u make a video about How a footballer should eat.
God loves you
I will remember your tips when playing. I panic when I receive the ball, so a lot of time, I either dribble and lose the ball or just give a bad pass. I think I need to be aware of my surrounding prior to receiving the ball.
I had that oroblem and you know what when the ball came to me i just kick the ball and let it go
Then i practiced a lot and now mostly i do like 6 -7 dribbles in a match and get man of the match with a half line goal
Prac you'll reach your dreams
I suport you
every day when I train in matches my coach always tells me to keep my head up. This helps so much, thank you

Thank you so much Bless you, you will see mee on tue TV remember tee name sang
I normally switch between looking around and looking at the ball while dribbling.
after u dribble, how do u know where ur teammates are? Any tips
Ahsan Saleem doesn’t always work and there’s no way to get a 100% guarantee but you just have to know your team and visualize their movements if you have a general idea of the play style of your mates you can have a general idea of where they will be going and hopefully they will also call
@@ahsansaleem2626 once you have created space you can glance up but you have to be able to take in a lot of information in a single glance then you make the decision
@@ahsansaleem2626 lots of people are saying understand your team but if you were like me I'm just about to try out for a team I never played before so what I do is try fixing your off ball vision when you dont have the ball look everywhere see where evryone is see how your team mates runs are see everything
Yea is really helpful but i mastered it in my soccer academy anyways i really appreciate it
Edit: can u please heart my comment i love ur videos those are really helpful
Ayy u play jailbreak
It's like when your swimming you breath when you can
That's a good analogy
Great analogy
Thanks
I can’t swim
very good analogy
Thank you, for explaining that aspect of dribbling, it makes total sense. Some coaches will only tell you to look up when dribbling but you have to look down and use your peripheral view especially when you're in tight spot.
can you make a video about training exercises for defenders?
I'll look into making some
@@SimplySoccer Thank you!
Ye I’m a Centerback, would love it!

Yess plz
I remember watching this video when it came out and it helped me so much in my first year of competitive soccer
I’m so glad I developed this skill myself when I was 13. I knew I’d need it when I was older and now I can make passes straight after beating 1-2 players
3:42 what heppens when you don’t look at the ball 😃 great video as always. So true, most important is to look up and scan BEFORE the ball gets to you. And when the time is right - sure, look up - its all about vision and awareness.
my coach says my dribbling is amazing, but I always forget to keep my head up, thank you so much! :)
Thank you...
It is very useful and important video...

When you do quick feet drills, does it have an impact if you do on grass with cleats or on cement ground with simple football shoes?
Great video .Thanks

Nice one bro you help me so much my coach has started to watch your videos
Haha nice!
Nice video man, love from india
Amazing video
My son is learning football this days, i will show him this video. thank you
When I was little we did cone dribbles and I could never gain the confidence to run fast and control the ball at the same time because the cones were too far apart (I was small)
Thanks man
Can you make a video on how to think like a winger?
Can u pls show us the look on the goal before we shoot .. they take a quick look before shooting
Thanks broooo
this is a really good video
@simplysoccer What about just looking up with your eyes? So head position stays down but eyes look up?
If you have played football for along time it just comes natural just awareness. You actually shouldnt look and focus on the ball you should look just abit passed the ball maybe 3 yards away when dribbling so you can see teammates or other players, only time ehen you should look is in tight areas to get passed people.
thanks bro this my bid doute
I konos I’m late but thank you cause I am confused because like if I keep my head down I don’t know where the defenders are and if my head is up I don’t know we’re the ball is
Plss make a video on how to dribble when a defender is rushing
Should you stay on your toes while dribbling? please answer.
Background music in starting of video?
Why did you remove the video that you talked about why you played d3 college soccer??
I'm gonna guess it was because he said he was offered a pro contract which he has literally never mentioned before the past few weeks. So I'm guessing it was a lie.
@@juhakoskinen2093 yeah probably because of that

God loves every single one of you!
Bruh what shoes does he have on? Look damn cool!
😍😍😍
i think you need a picture of the field so you can look at the ball and before you have the ball you make a image of the field. If i have a mistake pls remind me thx.

If I practice my skill moves with a tennis ball at home would that help me get better at the moves?
Pretty much
Does it work just once or practice?
Always Praxtice ❤❤

Xavi is one of the best when it comes to this. Perhaps he is the one who looks at the ball the least 😂
Messi's dribbling trick is difficult, Messi always look the ball by always looking the. Surrounding So he can dribble the players easily
I need an opportunity
I read the comments with my head up
My youth coaches really fucked me over because they made it sound like I needed my head up 100% of the time. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I figured out that’s not how it works
you kind of do
0:07 did he just say soccer? Not gonna watch this anymore 🤣
I don't know why but I can see ball more clearly when I do head up dribbling
0:58 i does it sometimes but not always when i drive into space i look at the ball but same time i look Up it works
Fast af
