dude the start dribble is an aspect i never thought of… really explained my flat-footed, heavy dribbling and why i felt i was slow in reacting when dribbling, like i have to think really far ahead on what i want to do when dribbling. Thanks man
For me it’s a bit different I just realized there’s never been a problem with my dribbling and the only thing limiting it was my heavy shin pads and the ankle strings attached to it for my stronger foot I found a lighter shin pads and for my other one I just cut the ankle strings now I feel so relaxed when playing and I can make use of my pace
Dude your editing and pacing is absolutely god tier, I have a feeling you might’ve done this as a full time job before because it’s like industry quality, bravo
i never really trained this and i’m 6’4 (195 cm) but this has always been my quality. I play center back since 3 years ago (was always a Cam or striker) and a lot of times i randomly accelerate at full speed and my ball control is good and i actually pass opponents because i’m faster with the ball then they are without the ball
@@thefootballfolk yea maybe, sometimes i feel like i’m in the wrong body because i’m a pure instinct dribbler, feel like i would play on a much higher level if i was 180cm or something :(
These videos are incredible Tony - breaking down complex processes and keeping it super simple - you make it really obvious how to improve. Thanks so much
Some good points. Especially that last one. Making sure your body is across the ball and ready to push off to the next direction. It should come naturally but as someone who just started getting back to footy, my running with the ball technique is off and I need to practice.
I’m the best dribbler in our friend group of playing football (36 persons, most of them do football), yet I still watched this video, i only found out I was doing everything in this video subconsciously :))
Always excepting your new video! 💪 Never let me down! May I say something like the conclusion? I think all the key of sprint, stop and make turn is about controlling the gravity of the body. When you sprint, you're bending your knees. To your body, it means down the gravity. And when you having body touches, you also need to down your gravity to prevent been knocked away. Hope you can understand my poor English😅😅😅
*Always kick the ball on the DOWN STEP* (lunge or stride to the ball to improve timing) (If you have to kick on the up step.. either head, hip or knee should be above or in front of the ball and use upper thigh to drag the ball instead of kicking it forward
Man its amazing I already said it, you respond to every comments and that shows how your community matters to you it’s pleasing how you take consideration. Love that montage it reminds me of wes anderson’s style dont know why😅 big support from France mate (nice calves hahaha these are grealish genetics)
As somebody who does sprinting and football, your sprinting form is superb, you have great posture, leg drive and that arm swing (we call it hip-to-lip where i'm from) which will also really help you in your game, not so much with technique but just the raw speed. Also, great video as always, I am already one of the best players in my team but these videos make sure I am always working on my game and in top form. And we always have something to work on! I can tell they also work great for beginners. Amazing work.
Great videos, really like the insight and how you break it down. Videos are short, funny, interesting and have actually improved my game already. Also loved the Micheal Jackson bit.
so unlike moving the ball at a slower pace to make space, I like to take a lot of touches with the ball but while sprinting I take a lot fewer touches to increase my speed but less control of course you need to do this only when u have space in the goal.
You’re right! Just mindful that I want to keep it clear and concise so it’s not overwhelming. A lot of my previous videos help explain these other 2 points a little better 👍
good video and well explained. However, people with structutal tibial torsion - in other words structural duck feet - this dribbling technique exposes to ankle sprains.
Man i wanna play football so much but like, living in an country where football isn't the most popular, specially in a city. It's so hard to find an place to play. Im just too scared if i buy a ball it'll just sit there or I'll miserably play alone on the fields filled with trash. Or play on a hard road and f up my legs. I think it's honestly just me scared to go outside my comfort zone. Whatever, it's not like i can't live without it.. or should i?
It’s definitely tough playing a sport that’s not super accessible, but I would encourage you to really give it a crack, even if it’s at home in the living room. Just learning the basics, and getting your foot on the ball is super rewarding. Once you start I bet it will be hard to stop. And who knows, once you dive into it, you may realize that others are in the same position as you, that you could play with 🧡
@@thefootballfolk we drawed 3-3 I scored a penalty but you advice was very useful the instigating speed helped me a lot I managed to dribble 3to4 players before I assisted the first goal thx so much
Nice!! It’s most of the time to be honest. If you watch footballers on Tv you’ll notice most of the dribble is using the outside of the foot, as it’s more natural 😁
whenever I dribble with speed and pressure in a match I kick the ball too hard either with my inside or outside of the foot and the ball moves too far away and I end up giving possession to the other team do you know how I can fix this?

I would suggest taking smaller delicate touches to stay more in control 😁
Bro I go so quick that when my football report came out the coach said i ran faster than the ball
I weirdly never really had a problem with sprinting with the ball.
dribble with the toe part is the quickest way to drible fastest , not outside . Thats sprinting posture
what was that comment about being flat footed? please explain
it means not staying on your toes which is bad because you are not ready to move quickly
