They are each unique and elegant, but the last boat speaks to my soul. I know I could never buy a boat like that so instead I'll try to build one. Finding the ideal pontoon size and dimensions to begin the foundation has still eluded me from starting. But I look every day.
I did end up buying a 35' houseboat about 2 months ago. Building one seemed like a good idea but for the costs of floatation alone, I purchased a nice boat, coastguard approved and ready to enjoy.
@@laicheewai8264 - There are a few I’ve seen that are rated for “ocean repositioning” but not intended for use to cross an ocean. The ones I’ve seen are intended to travel from one inlet or island to another, and can handle mild ocean conditions. If you want more, buy a boat!
Adore houseboats! Had some of the most wonderful times on one. Being on the lake, peaceful, dropping anchor and grilling out! Sleeping like a baby! Have yet to sleep outside with the mosquitoes. Just such a fun weekend.❤❤❤❤❤ Quest: Bit too small, Bluefield: 1 bath…..,nah! Ocean scape:, love it but out of my league! Last one: one bedroom……nah. Mothership: that’s the one 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I liked the Mothership Marine boat the best - though I think it's probably well over 100K. Interesting alterative to a retirement condo somewhere cold.
Love lake time on a houseboat ❤❤❤❤❤❤Such fun!! I like the biggest one, of course. You have to have company or it’s NO FUN! The longer and wider, the better! Just don’t run it up too far on the sand like I did, and have to pay to get pulled off!!! OUCH, and they are expensive to fuel for the weekend.
I worked for a company that build and repaired houseboats we went into this one house boat freshly build (not by us) and these guys left the marina in a speed boat pretty fast and man when those waves hit that houseboat it stared sliding chairs throwing stuff out of the cabinets cause the cabinet doors didn’t lock like I would of never imagined a house boat could rock that much and this is a very very large 1.2 million dollar houseboat
Heart yachting is my favourite so far because it has everything that you need and nothing you don’t and it’s compact but I must add that I’m not slanting the others because they’re certainly beautiful but I’ve always preferred compact

5k for a week ? I just booked a week vacation going to Mexico all inclusive 5 star hotel for a lot less than 5k. Why would anyone spend that on a 600-700 square foot house boat ? In fact you can go on a cruise ship for a week for less than that lol cool boat I love the house boat idea but $5000 a week for this is kind of laughable
I'm concerned more about a few other specs. Do they have a reverse osmosis system to purify water? How big is the gray/black water tank? Is there an inverter to run some things off the batteries? Can you fully charge the batteries from the solar panels (assuming full sun during the day)? The worst thing about most houseboats is that you have to run gas or diesel engines/generators most of the day to have access to most electricity.
Honestly? The proper question would be WOULD THEY… If you want high end items on a houseboat, I’m sure they can do anything you want if you’re willing to pay for it. They’re not just going to put those items on every boat making them even less affordable.
I'll assume these can be hauled out in the winter ?? If its a crossover I assume the hull is fiberglass which means it wouldnt stand for ice. Beautiful and perfect for more temperate sheltered places. You think it could do bluewater ??
Much of Amsterdam is water so house boats are lined along both sides of every canal. I'd love to live in one. Curious how government figures out property taxes on these here in America. I'm guessing I couldn't keep it at a lake but maybe off a beach.
Maintenance ist the key. Is one of them self sufficient? Do they need external power or are their solar panels enough? The one with power engines of course not.... What happens to their waste, greywater and how do they get freshwater? As you said, they are like houses on water. I miss the Tom Sawyer feeling. My best tiny place on water was a catalac :-)
The second and the last one. I'd want a houseboat for an end of days situation and be located high in the mountains on a huge lake. Definitely switch out the glass for reinforced glass and have a state of the art water purification system. If I could, I'd have x2 of the second one and make the second one a medical bay. I'd only have a useful crew with specific skillsets who were not lazy and not about the drama... and my emotional therapy cat ofc ❤️ But yeah, loved this upload, thank you!
I’ve been listening to my brother saying it’s not fast being 12 it’s and he’s right but I countered with it’s neither the speed that matters it’s getting there and when you get there and you don’t like it then you open the taps a wee bit and sail somewhere else

I totally agree with you. Spending 5k to spend a week on a small boat is rather excessive.
Yeah for 5k you could by a used car
You could buy your own boat for that much it might not be as nice but at least it would be yours for future trips where ever you want to go

The mothership is also awesome. But I still love the R 750, because of the added space. Also anything solar powered is the way I want to roll!
