Condominiums, or condos, is a real estate term in America that are like apartments, but usually bigger and more like a house, but not a separate building of its own on its own property like a house, but more together in groups like an apartment. So, sort of a cross somewhere in between an apartment and a house. That’s one thing that sets Rocky sequels apart from the rest: They never knew they were going to get another shot. They treat every installment like it’s the last one.
I love that Rocky never turns his back on anyone and is forgiving of everyone even Apollo who treated him terribly. This pays off for Rocky in Rocky 3 which you have to watch and find out how. I also love it when Paulie yells out "He won".
I know you were a little confused when, Apollo said he won. If you go back to the very end of rocky (or the flashback at the beginning of this reaction) you can hear the announcer reading the score total from the judges and announcing the win was given to Apollo. Easy to miss, but it is there. Rocky only wanted to go the distance with Apollo in the original and he accomplished his goal. Gives more weight to the scene when Apollo says he won but didn’t beat him.
I must have missed it as well, since the judges said it was a split decision, so neither boxer had scored more round wins or else they would have given it to Apollo.
@@jeffburnham6611 The announcer does say Apollo is still the champ. In fact you see Apollo react. Its just both very quick and smothered by the Rocky/Adrian dialog. A split decision means two judges scored Apollo with more rounds and one gave more to Rocky, so that's Apollo winning by decision. A draw was very rare at the time this was made, with an odd number of judges and an odd number of rounds. A draw would be called a draw by the ring announcer, it would not be a split decision. Boxing was not all that complicated back when this was made. Its...different...now.
The Rocky series is such an interesting movie franchise. It is so HEAVILY promoted as a "macho action boxing movie"... but when you actually watch the movies, you realize just how mush the Rocky/Adrian relationship really OWNS THE FRANCHISE! Stallone summed up the "Rocky Franchise" decades ago when he said that it wasn't a movie "about a boxer", but a movie about the "love and life story OF a boxer". Two different things, as the deep emotional moments REALLY hit hard when you understand why these characters are so connected to each other on so many different levels.
The trainer was crying because he watched Apollo grow from a nobody into an undefeated heavyweight champion and he was watching him throw it all away just because of his pride. He looked at Apollo as a son. He told Apollo to just stay away from him and he would’ve won. Or if he had managed to stand up he would’ve won because in a draw for the heavyweight championship the champion would win automatically.

The car is a Pontiac Trans Am. One of my favorites, too. There are still a few left in good condition, but you have to pay pretty big bucks for them. A car like that played a major role in the "Smokey and the Bandit" movies.
I always consider Rocky II to be one of the greatest sequels of all time along with Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Godfather Part II, Aliens, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and Star Trek II: Wrath Of Khan. And in that moment, he's watching Apollo give in to his pride and risk losing the certainty of a judge's decision in his favour in order to beat Rocky down. Once he realized Rocky really did beat him again, Apollo showed Rocky the respect he deserved at the end. And keep watching them up to Creed 2.
He didn't really beat Apollo, the man only lost by two seconds lol He beat Rocky in the first movie and he had him beat in the second movie, he just wanted to beat Rocky by a knockout and couldn't stick to the plan cause he had Rocky by a clear margin on the points alone
This second movie definitely has my favorite Rocky run of the series is just so emotional and just so good with all of the town behind him and then all of the kids following him and then when he starts to sprinting full speed to top it off👌🏾
His car was a Trans Am, it was the most famous and popular car in the US after it appeared in a 1977 movie called "Smokey and the Bandit". Check it out or maybe put it on a poll, I think you would also really enjoy that classic comedy/romance.
Near the beginning of the film, when Rocky is asked to invest in condominiums (groups of hpmes/apartments) Rocky thought he meant condoms, which is why he said "oh, I never use them." 🤣🤣
3:40 Actually, there have been situations in history where battles had spectators. One example is the First Battle of Bull Run, the first major battle of the American Civil War-apparently, a lot of middle and upper class civilians in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. were so bored that when they heard of the Union and Confederate armies approaching one another for the battle, they went and set up picnics on hills overlooking the battlefield so they could watch the battle. Like, there were enough spectators that the battle was nicknamed "the picnic battle," and some people even decided it should be a fun spectacle for the whole family and brought their children with. There were even members of the United States Congress among the onlookers. It was an interesting start to what still, after 160 years, stands as the war that killed more Americans than any other.
Don’t hate on Apollo lol honestly if it wasn’t for Apollo Rocky wouldn’t have even had the opportunity to win their rematch and make the money he needed back to support him and Adrian. Apollo lost the first fight but got the decision from the judges, in this one he won the fight but his pride to Knockout Rocky and beat him outright caused him to lose, but that showed how much of a champion he was but he never hated Rocky and had a lot of respect for him. He may have been the Antagonist of the first two films but he certainly wasn’t the villain, you’ll understand that aspect more in the 3rd film
I'm so glad to see you back on you tube. I've missed you! Hope you check out the rest of the rocky movies cause Rocky three and four are even better! Your friend in movies , Doug Potts!
The car is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. If you like it you need to see the movie *Smokey and the Bandit!* It's a great movie no matter what but the car is a big part of it! The car Rocky has in this movie was even called a "Smokey and the Bandit Edition".
12:45 "That is a car to die for" That's a Pontiac Firebird Trans-am. It's also a "Smokey and the Bandit" edition, which was made famous by a 1977 movie of the same name. (Which I would also recommend). It cost about $8,500 dollars in 1979.
Apollo isn't a bad guy. Between his own massive ego and the pushing of the hate mail he gets, we see him telling his wife about some of it, he needs to close the door on Rocky. He doesn't hate Rocky personally, but no matter how many fights he wins against other boxers after Rocky, the only fight people will talk about is the one where Rocky beat him, and Apollo got saved by the judges. Apollo seeks to prove he is still worthy of being champ.
Great reaction to this and the first, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your reactions to the rest they are definitely a rollercoaster of excitement and emotions
In a fight there are three judges that score the fight based on punches landed. In the case of a fight that goes the distance. The judges scores are tallied and the winner is the one with the most points. That's how Apollo won the first fight.
"Undefeated my....peach". Well technically Apollo was undefeated since the last fight with Rocky ended up being a split decision, so he retained the Heavyweight title, and the fight doesn't count as a win or a loss. There is some appeal in being able to go back in time to the late 1970's and early 1980's, for those of us that have lived it. I don't think you'd like it though. No social media, no 'Only Fans', no cellphones, etc. Postal mail and landline telephones were the only way to reach out to someone and communicate over distances. I wonder how many Twenty=somethings even would know how to operate a Betamax machine, an telephone answering machine, or a rotary dial telephone.
As a kid I had two main heroes, Rocky and Apollo. I ended up naming my son Apollo. Rocky gave me my heart and unwillingness to give up in life, Apollo taught be a little dance called the brawl. To this day when I train martial arts I still do warmups based on Apollo teaching Rocky in part 3. Rocky 2 is my favorite although 3 was the one I watched about 90% of the time as a kid. SKAL to you Astrid Trixy!
I like how Rocky 2 picks up immediately after the first one. Rocky 1 & 2 go together as if they are one long 4 hour movie. The rest of the series is great also, especially 3 & 4.
The whole Rocky series is worth watching. There's only one movie in the series that's a bit iffy, but it's still a necessary part of the story. If you like the first two, you will definitely like the rest. It's a pretty consistent series, unlike most.
Great reaction as usual! But Trixy, REAL boxing fans aren't just there to see the fighters bleed. Boxing is called "the sweet science," and the goal is "hit, and don't GET hit." If they hurt each other, they're really just trying to end the fight. I hope you watch more of Rocky's journey!
Condominiums are multi unit dwelling comlexes like apartments, but instead of renting unit (as you do with an apartment), you buy a unit. You own a condminium. You just rent an apartment.
12:45 "What is that?" That is a Pontiac Trans Am Firebird. Was one of my favorite of the classic muscle cars when I was little. I'm glad you got back into this franchise. A condominium is like an apartment that you have to buy like a home… they’er in buildings like an apartment, but they’re not for rent…
You got personal with it. 😂😂😂😂😂 You said even the man’s wife & kids didn’t like him. 😂😂😂😂
Loved your reaction, Ms Trixy. Watch the sequels if you wish, but, imho, THIS was the peak of this series...
Gotta watch Rocky III. That’s where the commercial begin coming in handy
Near the beginning of the film, when Rocky is asked to invest in condominiums (groups of hpmes/apartments) Rocky thought he meant condoms, which is why he said "oh, I never use them." 🤣🤣
One of the best scenes, Adrian gives her blessing.
The franchise is a good watch with probably one of favorite ones being the finale Rocky Balboa
There's no laundry detergent on the market capable of cleansing Rocky's sweat pants.
I'm so glad to see you back on you tube. I've missed you! Hope you check out the rest of the rocky movies cause Rocky three and four are even better! Your friend in movies , Doug Potts!
5:00 There is a place where it feels like the 1970s forever: Southern Italy.
The car is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am.
If you like it you need to see the movie *Smokey and the Bandit!* It's a great movie no matter what but the car is a big part of it!
The car Rocky has in this movie was even called a "Smokey and the Bandit Edition".
In Demolition Man SS drives an Oldsmobile 422 W30 that is also a GM product.
12:45 "That is a car to die for" That's a Pontiac Firebird Trans-am. It's also a "Smokey and the Bandit" edition, which was made famous by a 1977 movie of the same name. (Which I would also recommend). It cost about $8,500 dollars in 1979.
You will enjoy the others also. Rocky 3 and Rocky 4 are a must watch. I think you will love them. Enjoyed your reaction.
Why no one recommend her Big Trouble in Little China, seriously she really like neon, action, fantasy and eighties vibe, I hope she see this comment.
There were people who rode out to watch battles in the American revolutionary War and Civil War
I bet you can't go another 3 months without seeing the next Rocky movie!
I just realized, "I can see like a beagle". Beagles got a great sense of smell but did he mean see like an eagle? 🦅
The jukebox guy is actually Frank Stallone, Sylvester's brother.
Great reaction to this and the first, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your reactions to the rest they are definitely a rollercoaster of excitement and emotions
I’m excited for you to react to the whole Rocky Series 🥊🥊
The singer outside is Stallone's brother! 😮When his old boss asked him about condominiums, (townhomes) Rocky thought he meant condoms!!😁
Yeah, there are UA-cam videos on those things.
Can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the Rocky movies
- Adrian: Win
- Rocky: Yo Adrian, i Did it!
*Rocky's black car is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am*
Yo Adrian, I DID IT!
The best moment in the entire franchise
52:18 "¡YO ADRIAN, I DID IT!" 👏👏👏
10:42 Hahahah this line is so unintentionally funny
"You better learn how to do commercials after this"... oh don't you say😏
Been months since she did a movie reaction.
YAY!!! A MOVIE!!! missed watching your reactions as I am not into the "Last of Us"... been waiting for another movie review!
@Trixy... Apollo won via split decision. There are three judges. One said Rocky one the other two gave it to Apollo.
It’s amazing how much Adrian’s hair changed from the arena to the hospital in the beginning. Lol
Condominiums are multi unit dwelling comlexes like apartments, but instead of renting unit (as you do with an apartment), you buy a unit. You own a condminium. You just rent an apartment.
Rocky loves to block with his face 😂.
12:45 "What is that?" That is a Pontiac Trans Am Firebird. Was one of my favorite of the classic muscle cars when I was little. I'm glad you got back into this franchise. Rocky IV is probably still my favorite. Definitely watch the Rocky movies before even thinking of watching the Creed movies otherwise you'll miss a lot of story foundation since they take place after the Rocky movies but are connected.
I loved this reaction. Please do the rest of them. Creed, not so much, but definitely the Rocky movies.
1-4 are a must watch.
the dog was Stallone's and he had to sell it for money, then he bought it back , but had to give the owner a bit part in the movie Rocky
One of the singers around the fire barrel is frank Stallone, sly,s brother.
