Not only that, the Isekai itself changes our point of view of the world there are living.
That time I got reincarnated as a slime, other world travellers have a real impact on that world. To the point where nations summoned a lot of them and some kids caught a deadly condition from it.

I like how this show has a character who enjoyed her previous life is now suffering to recover what can't be undone while other characters are so happy to embrace their new life. This contrast is really something.
Oh so this is why Sensei "thinks" Kumoko is dead! Her skill doesn't tell her that Kumoko is an immortal now
You're wrong about that, but it's spoilers to say why.
the "immortal" skill isn't really immortality, a person with it can be killed by Heresy Magic, Abyss Magic and it only functions inside of the system; Kumoko is immune to Heresy Magic tho, so it's just Abyss magic or teleporting her to another world/demi-plane away from the system.

She doesn't even know she's been manipulated, that's pretty what you call a twist on the fair and unconditional duty towards her students
Glad to hear someone else say it.
a lot of people are failing to see the bigger picture. yes, you can understand why she did those things but she was wrong. she could have nature the students and give them the skills and tools to survive but instead she took her "role of the teacher" and made them into prisoners to "keep them safe". she took them from loving families and put them in a little plot of land(Buble) where they will not be harmed from the outside world. but they are not living life. they lose their families, friends, and a chance to live a life. they can`t go out and see the world or fall in love. they are living but they are not living life, not one worth living. by taking the danger out of the equation completely she made them no different than a charge bird.
Dude look at the cause of death for one of the students. It says there that they will die due to deprivation of skills. If you remember in early episodes she told the students not to train their skills. That has a meaning to it that will probably be explained later.
@@tintun8918 Generally speaking deprivation is "an act or instance of withholding or taking something away from someone or something". the main method to take someone's skills is 1st to beat them and then use ruler authority. you are trying to say the if that student has no skills there will be no skills to steal but considering you have to beat them 1st a lack of skills will not save that person. being able to defend themselves will. also, that applies TO ONE STUDENT NOT ALL. She is making all her students weak and dependent on her.
@@JayJayM57 are you caught up to the series or not? If not then be patient before passing judgement on her character. Spoiler below about skill Deprivation
She has seen that most of her students will die because they have their skills ripped off forcefully from them. The more skills you have, the more this method does damage to your soul. On the other hand, if you dont train, you won't die if your skills are taken from you. Most of her students were fated to die because normally they would have a lot of skills by training and when they are ripped off from them by Shiraori, they would end up dying. Oka sensei knew that they would die if they train their skills. But if they dont train them they would die from monsters and other threats. That's why she took them to the elf forest.

What she said about forgetting about your previous life and focusing on your new Isekai life is true because how can you just abandon everything about yourself just like that
Having a chance to live a different life, the only thing i´d keep, will be all my mistakes and my knowledge. NOT the relationships - being a baby, i´d probably mourn those for some years, only to continue forward & forge new ones.
I´ve seen too many isekai´s, where all MCs remembered their personalities, but forgot... almost everything else. All those reincarnated kids could be progenitors in that world, using their amassed knowledge to advantage of theirs and their nations. But no, they mysteriously forgot almost everything.
Being in her shoes, i´d probably try to grow up, find out the "bigger picture" of the world and then think about doing something about it. That way she probably would´ve find out, who Potimas really is.
@@Morpheus-pt3wq I would have also focused on my new life. When Oka telepathy's for help, you can see one of the students names is crossed off the list.
Non-spoiler spoiler for this character who died offscreen, from the EX book releases that contain additional info:
Students name was Naofumi Kogure, and in Japan was known for being a crybaby. Their unique ability was "Tears Shed"; The user's tears crystalize and those crystals can be consumed to perform powerful effects (Buffing status, shooting beams, restoring HP or MP). He died when his village was attacked by monsters, never to be seen and only mentioned in a Japan perspective chapter.
Well realistically she didn't have the right to intrude on her students lives, even if she knew they might die. That's the reality they live in. I mean I can't even imagine life expectancy in the real middle ages.
That's a common misconception, actually. Life expectancy during the middle ages was so low because of all the childbirth and sickness deaths during young years. If you survived until the age of 20, you were very likely to live until 70.
@WhiteWhile in this series, it may be different, I personally don’t know. But in many other stories, those who gain knowledge of the future/destiny and try to change it inadvertently create/solidify said future/destiny.
Actually she didn’t have the right, she had the obligation.
I haven’t seen the anime, but I can only assume this is the Cliche “Teacher & Students get Isekai’d to another world”, type of thing.
In which case, it would then be her responsibility and duty to protect them.
There could always be a chance to return back to the original world, to send them back to their families, and if death is permanent, then that can not be done.
So it doesn’t matter if its ‘invasion of their personal lives’, she had every responsibility and duty to protect those kids and ensure their safety.
@@freddykrueger8076 Sorry, no you don't have an obligation to find and protect students just because you were their teacher in a past life. That's just dumb.
the fun part is that it is her protection that might bring their doom
So to summarize her actions and thoughts, "I am trying to protect you all by depriving you of your freedom, why will you all not just accept that as the teacher I am doing what I think is the best for you all?"
Ironically, aside from putting so many of the students she is trying to save under the influence of the biggest threat to them, she is doing exactly the opposite of what a teacher is supposed to do.
She is not kowingly putting them in danger, but the role of a teacher is to help their students grow, to help them gain the knowledge and life skills they will need as adults. Instead, she confines them in a "safe" space, depriving them of knowledge and the chance to gain a variety of new experiences and life skills. Thus they grow up to be nothing more than pawns incapable of independent and rational thought. No wonder that Shun and the rest turn out to be so limited and rigid in their thoughts and attitudes, because it is all they have ever been allowed to experience; while the students who avoided capture almost uniformly end up opposing the elves and can see the issues she has created with her mistakes.
Hmmmmm. Welp maybe maybe a remark most of them said that they died in the elven forest elven battle which is about to take place. I think she actually is compling with the destiny bringing the most of them their death
The only student listed as dying in the elf village battle is Hugo.
Most of them had "death by skill deprivation" (here stated as "stripped of skills and dies")
This one scene finally gave me a character in the future parts that I actually like on the non-monster side. It even makes me want the others to survive, just because it would make Sensei sad if they died.

main antagonist of the show, specially potimas, Filmos is a victim of the circunstantes settled by D, and Shiraori is a copy of wakaba hiiro AKA D memories with a new personality in the body of a pet spider that was in the class on japan, thats why the she is the person that Cares the most about her and thats why she got super angry when knew oka's situation, because when she was a spider en japan, Oka saved her of being squashed, that why Shiraori cares so much about Filmos.
Actually, Shiraori only cares about Filimøs and the reincarnations that are with her, sophia and wrath (shoko and kyoya) and she only cares for them because the circunstances were perfect for her to help them, if she didn't encounter Sophia as a baby, the reincarnations that lived well are the nobles, two that becamed aventurers so they can defend themseves and the Kumo party after she becamed an arachne and then a goddess, everyone else suffered because of D torturing Filimøs with that curse of a skill
@@davidsamudio3899 spoiler
Filimøs’ love of spiders saved her. If Kumoko hadn’t liked her so much, she would’ve killed her as soon as she figured out that Filimøs was the reason the elves were able to find the reincarnations.

Filimøs is kinda related to Ariel, since ariel is a creation of potimas, that will make them Half sisters, and i think there will be the answer of saving her from potimas Claws

@@Dzsorden1 about Shiro and Filimøs, thats Volume 9, about the second comment, thats a WN trivia
The restrictions on the roster ability are pretty dumb. She can't tell them anything but she can tell Potimas everything. Potimas knows they're in danger and knows the teacher has some way of knowing this. He could easily guess the rest and then inform the kids. She's an idiot for trusting Potimas, a total stranger to her.
She was a weak helpless baby and couldn’t do anything but rely on her father.
I mean, he's her father (unless he adopted her after). Regardless, it's not like she had any other connection.
Except Potimas doesn't care to inform them. It doesn't benefit him or suit his goals in any way.
The conditions of the roster are unclear (as seen elsewhere in the show, the definitions of skills are often vague or unclear). There could still be consequences of laundering its information through another person. And Oka needed to use the roster to track down others, so she didn’t want to risk it.
She panicked. You can see one of the names crossed out when she first talked to Potimas. It means one of her students is already dead.
1:51 Yo in are Sensei
It's especially sad when you realize that even if they were going to die young, they could have been happy while their lives lasted. Instead, some of them were kidnapped from their new homes and locked up like Rapunzel, all to survive instead of live.
I can’t help but notice she had “Parallel Minds”
I think that was a skill buy screen. It seems like the first thing after reading the list was to try to find a way to communicate and purchased telepathy, so she doesnt have to learn to talk first.
It was a skill shop. Not her skills
Lots of people have that skill, they just dont let it run 24/7 like Kumoko. Also in the books she had 9 other personalities before body brain went AWOL and jumped ship to attack Ariel lol. Imagine 9 voices in your head arguing at one time.
@@GodsPoisonSamael Yep, Kumoko seems to have overlooked that Parallel Minds can be toggled on/off, and thus hers became full-blown split personalities. Which is crazy in the most awesome way possible.
She’s so cute as a baby lol
She was right about gathering her students but she didn't go look for Kumoko and decided to leave her out of this problem knowing that now Kumoko is becoming a treat to everyone.
In a way she fail to look for Kumoko who is now having the world against her
She prioritized students who had deaths closer than others and students who were easy to reach. Kinda hard to go for anyone living in the labyrinth
Kumoko(Wakaba) was listed as dead on her list. Which is why. I'm sure if if she was not listed as dead Oka would have tried to find her.
This explains why she knows what kumiko is
if anyone thought she wasn’t a good teacher i would be surprised
I mean, it's always a good way to teach people by showing them how not to do things!
Tried to be a good teacher but look at Kumoko’s past life bruh
depends are you talking before reincarnation if so she was a good teacher, but if you are talking after she was horrible. she turned her students into prisoners to "protect them".
So you think kidnapping is good?
@@governmeharderdaddy596 yall missing the point and will see later most of that class would have died and did you miss that some of those kids were sold to the elves so yea parents willing to sell their kid for cash is gonna have a great life
Why is she the most cutest child I ever seen of my life?
I see now why they skipped the friendly elf part.
in her defense she didn't start the fire she just made it worse .
Thats not sound any better
She started it :v
If they didn't get captured most of them would probably become strong adventurers or at least decent fighters
@@leonel392 in a defense on that, how would she knew that they would be forced to fight? I mean shun was the only student that actually had to
I'm guessing the administratiors gave her this skill so she could round up all the reincarnations and prevent them from getting stronger so they couldn't stop the world from ending
D gave her the skill for entertainment, watching her to struggle
D is just a troll who enjoys suffering really.
Hmm okay things are starting to make sense now. More questions for later. For now, can't complain.
She wasn't perfect but knowing when and how people you care about would die is a massive burden. Regardless of the end result she definitely didn't do what she did with ill intent or any idea what would happen after.
If you look at how these students died on the teachers roster, you will find that the way they died is similar to how some of them have already died due to circumstances cause by the teachers interference.
Only the future death of 2 persons were shown. Ooshima‘s future death can also mean that the system will collapse, something that Kumoko want to prevent.
@@12tanuha21 heh
The way she walks forward at the end looks like the Saul Goodman meme
People are trying to say she was either in the wrong or is right...but in reality, this is a very grey subject...she literally had children stripped from their parents which is awful...but it was to save many them from their early deaths. I think all in all what she did has more pros than cons.
The big mistake she did make was keeping all of this information to herself because that doesn't help anyone, not even herself. If she came clean about her skill and the status's of the whole class they would've trusted her more.
Does the spider ever meet them plus it is a ok anime series!!!
The anime is really good but they need to include the spider more her energy is very good whilst the others are just dull and they might meet in the future
@@IMRVAL kumoko is literally in every episode
I read the LN, so I can assure you that they do meet. The anime adaptation is though, is quite good. It skips some of the stuff from the human side, which is why most people don't like those parts, however, it is quite an enjoyable experience.
SPOILERS
you've been warned...
Kumoko becomes Shiraori, or the "white" lady. She meets a couple of the reincarnations (she has already met Sophia after all) but her miniature spiders are all over the place and inform her of what is going on everywhere. But well, events certainly are going a certain way... so we will definitely hear more about it all in an episode or two.
@@locusxe1411 nah like when she got out of the cave stuff it’s been focusing on the humans instead she only gets 5min of screen time lol
Did her ability tell her anything about one of her students being a 🕷? 🤔
And did she have to kidnap them as babies? The ability said "20 years", she could of waited for them to become old enough that it wouldn't be traumatic and they could make their own decisions.
one of them died the moment she found the list. the others some literally were sold to the elves not just kidnapped. So if their family was so bad off they would consider selling their child what kinda life is that
One of them died right that moment as she was was reading the list. Another one was listed as dying at age 2 of starvation. *Some* of them had 20 years before they were predicted to die, but others were much sooner. It makes perfect sense than she would try to save them immediately.
1 although she had good intentions she never gave me confidence and 2 the story is interesting but I think I prefer the story of the spider
Sorry, gotta agree with the people saying she’s in the wrong. Sure, she had good intentions but
A) they would’ve died eventually, it is inevitable (as sad as it is) all she did was delay it for another few years
B) I do understand that the deaths could’ve happened within the 20 year period but we have no way of knowing which is right and if it’s at the end of said 20 year period then she could’ve done saved them herself
C) if she could’ve gotten those skills by doing diddly-squat, she could’ve done something herself, even if most of them were skills elves were born with
D) couldn’t she have had her dad take her to the families and tell them how it could happen and help the families stop it from happening, that’s INFINITELY better then selling and/or kidnapping BABIES
E) she really trusts a skill that (as far as we can tell) doesn’t give race and/or location. If it can peer into the future, it should (logically) be able to do something as trivial as that! The fact that it seems to not do so mean that D might not have wanted her to meet them too soon (most likely because D wanted to make the teacher suffer a bit but also maybe because she wanted the reincarnated to live their own lives on their own for a while)!
Sorry if it’s a bit long, also I might not reply immediately (phone still keeps making the comment section disappear and I haven’t seen any tips for that yet) so please be patient and respectful in whatever thread follows!
Regarding the time frames of their deaths. Some of them would've been at the end of that 20 years, while others would've been much earlier. She watched one of them die right at the moment she was looking at the list for the first time. Another was set to die in only 2 years. *That* is why Oka-sensei considered it urgent to buy the Telepathy skill and get her father to go save them right away, instead of waiting until she grows up and can go do it herself.
Also, her dad is evil. She didn't realize this at the time, but he wouldn't have bothered to take the reincarnations' parents in with them. Only the reincarnations themselves were useful to him.
@RedXIV I agree with the evil part, but is she sure that the person actually died, and I’m saying could she have used one of her numerous skills to help out her students herself as is instead going to ask someone she barely knew and (at least by the looks of what was shown) rarely saw. Also, I would’ve tried to get him to stop when she found out he was buying and/or kidnapping them instead of just bringing the whole family in.
Ignorance truly is bliss. Being cursed with knowledge isn’t something to scoff at.
Maybe the real reason they are mad at her is because they all look incredibly generic. While she looks like someone actually thought about her appearance for 10 seconds
Honestly seems like most of them would've faired better if she hadn't existed, so no not good teacher, especially since she kept information she didn't have to secret from them, leaving them ignorant and unprepared (not talking about roster info, but everything else she learned about the world and kept a secret). Also it doesn't take a genius to notice how many deaths are listed in the elf forest and then realize bringing them to the elf forest might be a bad idea.
How many deaths ? The only one mentionned is Hugo and Katia. Hugo dies in the Elf Forest battle, Katia dies after having lost all of her skills in unknown circonstances (that also explains why Oka doesn't want the reincarnations to developp their skills). By the way, Hugo goes in the Elf Forest on his own, not by force.
If the anime keeps this pace... then SPOILER BELOW
Next chapter is the war and a bit on the heroes side... Fei will learn what happened to Hiiro Wakaba (who she used to bully)... or at least what sensei thinks happened to her... and maybe Wrath's first appearance. Maybe cliffhanger of Ariel, Julius and Kumoko facing each other... and then Kumoko's "death" and rebirth as an Arachne.
Followed by Potimas vs Kumoko arachne and Magical Girl Ariel's grand entrance. Then last chapter of season 1 would be Shiraori appearing before the heroes and killing Hugo.
In the anime Fei already knows what happened to Hiiro (at least, as you say, what sensei thinks happened to her). Not sure why, but they moved up that info WAY early way back during the early part of the academy stuff.
@@Derekloffin haaaah!? But that's lame! I wanted to see her reaction animated after reading the LN... at least I hope they get to really animate Wrath's first appearance and Shiraori revealing herself to the class before the S1 ending...

that could happen and at the same time Kumoko (now White or Shiaori) starting her travel with Ariel, Sophia and Mera
The humans were already a deconstruction of isekai tropes, and this is probably the best that the human part has probably to offer.
And a spider killed the elf's that tried to protect the vampire, but of course we now know something that is important.
Her mistake was trusting Potimas as simple as that.
Ah, kidnapping babies, clearly what all true teachers strive for.
most of the students deaths: diet in battle in the elf forest
potimas and the teacher: LeTS LOcK thEm IN ThE ELf FoREsT
I can just imagine poltimas head thought just
"Why does my newborn daughter already know how to converse perfectly"
and how did she know the language? or does the telephaty ability automatically translate stuff?
"I couldn't tell my students"
Okay, so tell someone else and get them to tell the students?
Can't she just write it and give it to someone else. Or find someone with the skill to read her mind and tell them. They have not specified the dos and don'ts.
I honestly feel a lot of sympathy towards Oka ngl.
So even with all of her information, she couldn’t find Kumoko? Or is she even a part of this class to begin with?
On the list her name was already crossed out
If you want spoilers
Komeko was in the class but not part of the class she was a spider living on a web in the corner.
The girl Komeko thinks she is was D a major god who was hiding out on earth. D shoved a fragment of her soul on the spider and sent it with the human souls to the fantasy world hoping it would serve as a decoy and distract from the fact D survived. Komeko ruins this by surviving.
It's also why Komeko doesn't have a name when appraised like the other reincarnated people who show there old name.
Komeko isn't on the roster as she wasn't a student and since Ds still goofing off in japan no one's in the Isikai world to fill that spot on the roster
I thought D put a fragment of her soul into kumoko because she knew that kumokos soul wouldn't survive the crossover to the other world.
