But over the years, humans being humans, they forgot the original story of how the Goddess sacrificed herself to save the world. So, the girl got pissed and allowed her mutation to mutate her into a demon lord. Kumoko would eventually join forces with the demon lord to help her save the goddess.
It used to make so mad starting an episode in the latter half of the anime after waiting a week for a new episode and only getting 10% of kumoko and having to force myself to watch 90% of Shun and his boring ass story.
LOL, if it has a 2nd season, the whole story will focus on Shiro (Kumoko's name after evolve to arachne) and it'll be more interesting story than season 1. If you want to read light novel you can start from vol.6. This anime is adapted from the light novel, not the web novel or manga.
