You may be right. As a fan of Slayer, Metallica, Pantera etc… all with tons of heavy material… this song may actually be the heaviest in the form of composition, heavy riffs, heavy drums, total intensity, and awesome lyrics all coming together in a perfect storm. This song never lets up.
The lyrics to this song and a few others from Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning and ...And Justice for All are some of the best poetry ever written about some very heavy subjects like war, addiction and suicide. The craziest thing is, these guys were in their early 20's when they wrote these songs that all feel like they were written by someone with a lifetime of experiences!
Love the way the song starts with four or five of the meanest riffs ever, one after the other, getting more powerful every time it changes. Then keeps that momentum throughout.
_Soldier boy, made of clay_ The clay is not just about its fragility and expendability, but also (and especially) its malleability - you mold the impressionable youth into what you need them to be. - stone-cold killing machines.
I was 15 when Metallica put out their first album Kill 'em All and seen them many times in America and Germany in the 80' and 90's. This is most definitely their most brutal and relentless song ever.
It's been a minute since I've checked out your channel and your reactions are great. Disposable Heroes is such an amazing song, at one point the song hits 224bpm!
My high-school band that I was a percussionist in played the theme song to Hogans Heros. Also, I have watched the show as a kid. So, unfortunately, I have to say it may sound a very little similar, but it is too far different to be a rip-off.
I do not dispute the notion that those at the top of the chain of command have their own demons to grapple with over the guilt and remorse of sending young people to their deaths, but I push back on the suggestion it plays any part in this song. While the perspective jumps from 1st person (soldiers, commanding officers, and other authority figures) to the 3rd person observer, it ultimately comes down to the military manipulations - manipulation, which is part of the Master Of Puppets concept themes running throughout the album. Not the guilt or internalized rationale, but being manipulated and controlled, used, abused, and disposed of.
Those at the top dont care. They go to bed at night knowing they have ended millions of lives. I DO dispute the notion that those at the top have their own demons with over guilt. I believe they have no remorse and guilt
@@rustinpeace770 Yeah... you're right... I was just trying to be like a "Devil's Advocate" and not sound as bitter as I am about the whole war thing. All wars. ANY wars. The ones who start them only care about money, not human life. I'd like to see how quick they are to start wars if they were the ones who had to fight them. I say bring back the old days when true leaders were front and center of any war they waged. Not to say wars of the past were any better - whether you send them off in your stead or have them follow you to their doom, war is bullshit. Getting tens of thousands of people involved in them is perverse and not honorable. World leaders should be compelled to fight whatever wars they wanna start - fight them themselves and ALL BY themselves. Mano e mano (against the leader of a rival/enemy territory).
In case nobody else has said it, The Watcher is from Marvel not DC. He comes from a race that tried to help out another race and when they came back they had destroyed themselves with the technology given to them. So, they took a vow to never involve themselves in the affairs of other races and only watch.
You guys do the best music reactions I've ever seen. I'd love for you to do The Frayed Ends of Sanity from the And Justice for All album please, another song that is very underrated.
Also as much as it's hard to hear in the mix, James's rhythm section during kirks solo after the already amazing riff build up to the solo is outstanding 😊@@VinAndSori
This song makes me think of the men of the Russian columns advancing in Ukraine, forced at gunpoint to advance, knowing death is certain regardless which way he proceeds. That’s why so many Russians immediately surrender when they have the opportunity- their situation is impossible.
I do not think this is the heaviest song of all time or the heaviest Metallica songs. Master Of Pupppets has heavier parts, as well as many other Metallica songs.
Sorry metallicas heaviest song is the thing that should not be event jason newstead saying that before they start too play it live it all so on master of puppets
I don’t find this thrash metal song to be heavy????…..The vocals are angry and hostile, & tempo quick…..but it’s not heavy? I find Black Sabbath’s “Volume Four” …to be Heavy!! Not a solo I care for..never bothered to learn it!

Yeah it's a great one, maybe something like Gasoline Dream Overkill?

Congratulations Vin & Sori.Youve just listened to the greatest song ever recorded in the history of music.
true

10/10. My favorite Metallica song.
On more zero on first ten and we fine!
"Damage Inc." is another one y'all should check out from Master Of Puppets

exactly!!!

Vin and sori back in time.
Best Metallica solo of any era.
9 days ago... congrats! Nice to see you guys again
"Everybody went off in this song" yes

Main riff comes from the intro song to Hogan’s Heroes. If one stayed home during school in the 70’s/80’s, you know that song.
My high-school band that I was a percussionist in played the theme song to Hogans Heros. Also, I have watched the show as a kid. So, unfortunately, I have to say it may sound a very little similar, but it is too far different to be a rip-off.
I guarantee THAT is where Hetfield got the riff.
The very good old Metallica 🤘🏼
One of the best Albums of all time!!!
I preach this song whenever Metallica comes up. No song shows their instrumental and writing abilities better than this one IMO.
You're doing repeats now? Didn't you do this 6 years ago?
Probably re-upload.

One of my favorites by them!
Would love to hear your take of Metallica's Inamorata
Reupload is crazy work
Greatest guitar solo ever

@@VinAndSori great riffs ig

listen to the 40 snare drum rudiments, and you'll see where james gets his riffs from
dang where u two been..

Not even in the top 10 trillion heaviest songs. Brutal Death Metal and Grindcore are some of the most brutal genres.
This one will always Crrruuushhhaaaahhhhyyeeeeeaaahhhhh!
Hey!!! I see Salty in the background! Miss him...and Ghosty and Chip
THE epitome of Thrash Metal 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
While this song is heavy, I think "The Thing That Should Not Be" is heavier
this! I mean.. Jason Newsted said so.
No way! But if Jason said, who am I to disagree ?! 😅
I always thought of Harvester of Sorrow as their heaviest. The live version from Russia especially hits.
@@JohnSheehan72 Seek and Destroy in that gig is also kick ass! 🤘🏼
My favorite Metallica song.
Think for me who " Metal meltdown" ( JUDAS PRIEST)is more heavy and faster
I think this one and Shortest Straw are Kirk's best solos.
GOAT
I've been to the front and I have 162 confirmed enemy kills.
I would say Dyers Eve from Metallica is right there with this one...Give it a listen!
Good point, except the horrible production really neuters Dyers Eve unfortunately.
@ I have to admit it sounds much better through my stereo with the EQ tweaked properly …still a great song though
I think you thinking about a marvel character called the Watchers they watch over the Multiverses but they cannot interact
You guys really need to check Metallica latest album, so many good songs and they all have lyrics video . I promise you want disappointed.
This is not just for the military but also men's reality. It is our duty to get back to the front 💪
Ride the lightning and Master of puppets are the only Metallica albums I listen to! Maybe killem all!
Not the heaviest not even close.
Re-post??
Nowhere near the heaviest song of all time
Great reaction thanks.... Reac to "" "OVER THE WALL" "" BY TESTAMENT LIVE VERSIÓN.... 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Definitely not the heaviest song of all time!!!!
👊🤜💯🇺🇸💯🤛👊
megadeth - skin o' my theeth !!
Certainly one of Metallica’s fastest songs, but not close to their heaviest (Sad But True, The Thing That Should Not Be, Dream No More…).
Damage Inc!
Lepper Messiah
@ yeah another super fast one. Battery too.
God that failed and thingy are the heaviest
@@rebelofbabylon3091 The Thing That Should Not Be is my favorite and is definitely heavier than this
I GUESS YOU NEVER LISTENED TO MEGADETH.
For me the heaviest by metallica is Damage Inc.
I do not think this is the heaviest song of all time or the heaviest Metallica songs. Master Of Pupppets has heavier parts, as well as many other Metallica songs.
Bible thumpers need to listen to ORGASMATRON
Great and heavy song..but in 1986 Slayer was heavier.
Good song but any song from Mortician is possibly heavier than any band on earth.
Not even the heaviest on master let alone metal as a whole. Not even in the same galaxy
So hard to watch this video. Vin doesnt know the lyrics, but is wildly attempting to mouth them. Is he high?
Why not react to other Metallica songs yall haven't reacted to yet ? Reposting this as new when it's
almost 4 yrs old
Damage, Inc is heavier imo
I like this song. But, the heaviest. damn, it’s obvious you haven’t heard other real heavy song.
Like Pungent Stench or Mortician lol.
Agreed heaviest by far! Love me some Metallica!!!
Metallica fight fire with fire is way heavier
Sorry metallicas heaviest song is the thing that should not be event jason newstead saying that before they start too play it live it all so on master of puppets
It’s not.
I don’t find this thrash metal song to be heavy????…..The vocals are angry and hostile, & tempo quick…..but it’s not heavy?
I find Black Sabbath’s “Volume Four” …to be Heavy!!
Not a solo I care for..never bothered to learn it!
Cringe....
You are wrong about WWII my fren. I invite you to take a trip down that rabbit hole
