This is the most important issue of our time. Why is govt rejecting legal applicants, but allowing illegals... This is unacceptable. It is treachery and total failure by govt. Seeking asylum is not an excuse to allow millions into our country.
I'm not taking a side, but general observation of this video tells me that they are taking the time to vet legal immigration, and there is clearly very high demand, hence the 24 million backlog. If the administration were just admitting all the legal immigration requests quickly I believe that would also enrage a lot of people, as it would seem it's not being done properly. The illegal immigration is happening because there is high demand for immigration and the legal way takes a long time. There will always be rule breakers, so rather than take the approach of slamming the administration for having a backlog which is clearly due to high demand and proper procedures being followed, there should be more enforcement focus on illegal immigration, which this video briefly touched on (but returned focus to the backlog for whatever reason). I hate saying it but I do agree that even though people may just be seeking asylum or a better life, that doesn't grant them protection from the law. I don't blame them for trying, as any scrappy person will try to get around red tape. Hell, Trump gets praised for getting around red tape, businesses skirt the law every day and no one bats an eye. But there should be consequences that are enforced. The USA is crowded enough, and a bunch of labor force coming to the USA and willing to work for dirt cheap part of the reason our wages have been so low for years before the pandemic. Businesses definitely don't want illegal immigration to go away, because the illegals labor helps them cut costs. I'd just about guarantee Trump doesn't actually want to stop illegals, as they are also a source of cost cutting for his enterprises. This is the most important issue of our time. Why is govt rejecting legal applicants, but allowing illegals... This is unacceptable. It is treachery and total failure by govt. Seeking asylum is not an excuse to allow millions into our country.
I'm not taking a side, but general observation of this video tells me that they are taking the time to vet legal immigration, and there is clearly very high demand, hence the 24 million backlog. If the administration were just admitting all the legal immigration requests quickly I believe that would also enrage a lot of people, as it would seem it's not being done properly. The illegal immigration is happening because there is high demand for immigration and the legal way takes a long time. There will always be rule breakers, so rather than take the approach of slamming the administration for having a backlog which is clearly due to high demand and proper procedures being followed, there should be more enforcement focus on illegal immigration, which this video briefly touched on (but returned focus to the backlog for whatever reason).
I hate saying it but I do agree that even though people may just be seeking asylum or a better life, that doesn't grant them protection from the law. I don't blame them for trying, as any scrappy person will try to get around red tape. Hell, Trump gets praised for getting around red tape, businesses skirt the law every day and no one bats an eye. But there should be consequences that are enforced. The USA is crowded enough, and a bunch of labor force coming to the USA and willing to work for dirt cheap part of the reason our wages have been so low for years before the pandemic. Businesses definitely don't want illegal immigration to go away, because the illegals labor helps them cut costs. I'd just about guarantee Trump doesn't actually want to stop illegals, as they are also a source of cost cutting for his enterprises. Anyone in a corporate capacity is going to be FOR illegals not against them, that's just common sense, because they want to skip the red tape and hire under the table for cheap.
