The theme of DS3 is basically how everything that was, is gone now, all the old locations and characters may still be around but they're going. It's the most literal form of playable nostalgia I have ever seen, and basically Miyazaki saying it's time to move on from here and visit other worlds and lands. dark souls 2 intro remains one of my favorite cinematics of all time. it's so dark and mysterious and speaks to the world we live in moreso than the other 2 which are more focused on actual historical events
I'm gonna also mention that the original directors of DS2 (who were later removed from the project) were the root of DS2's problems - messed up game engine that was so complex that even From Software's computers couldnt handle it so they had to downgrade DS2's graphics; bad execution of their "We're gonna make DS2 BIG" idea that left the world a bit nonsensical sometimes; etc. In their place Yui Tanimura and one other dude were put in charge, and tried to fix and patch the game before the release date (Bandai Namco severly shortened their development time so they had to hurry with the game which can be noticed sometimes.) However DS2 was the only Souls game that I was truly immersed in. The atmosphere, world-building and the lore are my favourite out of the Trilogy. Many people don't see it though bc they had already made their opinion by reading some dudes online say "DS2 is bad", and so they never actually checked out the game.
2 months late but im still gonna reply. While, of course, the Lore is cool, as is the entire trilogy lore, the atmosphere is not that great. Dark Souls 1 still holds the best atmosphere as it has seamless transition between locations while all connected as one world that provides amazing variety. I could not help but laugh at the transition from Earthen Peak to Iron Keep. I also believe the architecture is incredibly boring compared to the other 2 games. It's not nearly as breathtaking, but it does have some good spots tho I won't ignore that. Opinions are opinions of course.
@@phantomcomment3381To be honest most good things about DS1 only apply to the first half of the game. Even the world interconnection gets meh after fast traveling is introduced. And honestly I find DS2s locations much more interesting than DS3s. And honestly I don't know why the transition from Earthen Peak to Keep is so hated, I think it's funny as f*ck and for me enhances the dream-like qualities of the game. It's in no way a worse area transition than Elden Rings flying coffin or DS1s dlc anus. DS3 and its weird architecture also recontextualizes the floating lava sea a bit. The dreg heap I mean, where areas from every game overlap too.
@dreamz1417 I almost entirely disagree with your points, but we're all entitled to our own opinions. From the many I speak to that also love these games, 9/10 of them, including me, all love the first soulsborne experience we've had. I like all 3, I'll not say Dark Souls 2 is bad, but it's definitely the weakest to me.
@@phantomcomment3381 I mean yeah you'll probably like your first Souls game the most. My first was Demon's Souls, so I'm not as attached to DS1 as people who started out with that one. It also ran like absolute shit on my PS3 compared to Demon's Souls hahaha. My favourite Dark Souls is probably DS2, probably because it took so much from Demon's Souls. Incidentally, my favourite FromSoft game in general is probably Elden Ring, which is DS2 2. Most people I know also don't really like DS2 aside from the ones that had it as their first experience. I think I'm the weird one here, having it as my fave souls game even though it wasn't my first.
Dark Souls 3 is my favorite game of all time, and personal opinion, but it MASTERED the soulsborne style game, its even still better than Elden Ring/Sekiro/Bloodborne/Dark Souls 1 and 2 to me
Oh really? I‘m super excited to get to all of them. I’m most curious about DS2 since it seems most people either hate it or love it so I’m super excited to experience it myself
@@beckachuu each one is special in its own way and I have a feeling you'll appreciate them all. Ds1 has the best interconnected world and atmosphere, ds2 has the best hub zone and sheer variety and amount of locations, ds3 has the best combat, graphics, music, and bosses
Music and bosses are definitely a step above the rest of the series, but the gameplay, while the best out of the souls games is nowhere near as good as Bloodborne's and Elden Ring's, much less Sekiro's.
@@andremartinez4411nah, ds3 the best. Stop being fanboi, sekiro is only good for combat, but no variety. Bloodborne has not enough content and base bosses are pushovers. And trick weapon mostly have only one mod that is not useless, and you can't even 2 hand different weapons at the same time. And elden ring is one of the best games ever, but it reuses way to much, sometimes get boring. But for atmosphere, music, bosses, lore, and levels ds3 takes the win. Tho overrall i think ds3 and elden ring are on par, because of exploration. Tho Bloodborne is better for people who like gothic architecture, sekiro is good for japan aesthetic lovers, but ds1 and 3 is best medieval dark fantasy.
What's funny about DS2 & 3's intros is they're representative of older versions of the games. By that I mean they had such rocky developments their stories were re-written multiple times long after those CG intros were made, and since it's relatively expensive to commission full FMV for their games, they didn't bother changing them or make new ones. They just wrote different dialogue for the narrator to dub over them. Most people would never notice because of how vague and mysterious the intros are. This isn't spoiling anything (because it was ultimately changed) but an example would be the story of DS2 used to involve time-travel. And no, that's not a joke, that's why the intro has a whirlpool in the water as it transports the player to a different era. DS3 was basically about the world coming to a definitive end but then that was changed 4 different times until it became what the final game ends up being about. So now all the intros have been recontextualized. Lol
@@beckachuu I'm not sure. Probably because of how long it takes to make them. (and budget of course) Ds3's development was overhauled about a year or two before release. So they had almost no time to wait for a new intro to be made. If you think about it, It's probably why Elden Ring's intro is just a dude talking over stills of the concept art for the game. They didn't have the money or time to make a proper CG intro because of the marketing. I'm willing to bet the story trailer for Elden Ring is actually the original Intro but it was repurposed into an ad and that's why ER has such a different opening than all their other games. lol 😂
The thing about DS3's intro is that you have to know what's going on to fully appreciate it. It's the same world as DS1 and DS2, but you can see that everything is withered and dying. The flame is dying again and this time even linking it again may not work. The Age of Fire has to end eventually
To answer your question - the opening cinematic for Dark Souls 1 Remastered that you watched is the exact same opening cinematic the original Dark Souls 1 from 2011. In fact, not much is changed from the 2011 "Prepare to Die" Edition of Dark Souls 1 and the Remaster. It is of course still an amazing game and the Remaster is the only version of the game you can still purchase, but the "Remaster" is also considered to be a bit of a lazy port job by a 3rd party porting studio - very little quality of life improvements, not even much of an improvement when it comes to textures and lightning, fixed very few of the known bugs/glitches and netcode problems, and overall kind of a cash grab unfortunately. Dark Souls 2 had a lot more marketing behind it from Bandai after the success of Dark Souls 1, and the opening trailer cinematic is much more stylized as a result. The game... bears very little resemblance to the cinematic to be honest. DS2 is the only one *not* directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, who was busier with Bloodborne's development at the time, and it shows in some ways. It was very ambitious, tried to do a lot of new things, and did some right, but a lot more (arguably) wrong. Its still a Souls game though, so even if you like it the least, its very much a good game and worth playing.
Thank you for explaining! I‘m probably the most curious about DS2 simply cause most people seem to either hate it or love it, no inbetween. Excited to make my own opinion.
@@beckachuu it's a game that tried to do what Elden Ring did but without the time and budget and 2022 development technology. Very ambitious, but a lot of it had to be rushed and cut, unfortunately. The feeling is also different. It's slower and more methodical, with the areas often being tougher than the bosses, many people refuse to adjust themselves to it and try to play it as if it was DS3 and the game punishes you hard for it. It's still great story-wise and has a beautiful world, but can very much feel kinda clunky.
@@beckachuu im of the portion that would say i didnt hate it but i also dont consider it at the top of what i like...but i still put many hours into it and replayed many times. its a decent game.
Good luck with your Dark Souls journey! :) I love all three games, though I do feel DS2 is the most unique of the three, so I'm excited to see your eventual thoughts on it.
Don't pay attention to those who directly speak badly about DS2 at the first opportunity they get, how can you be a fan of a saga and try to ruin new people who discover it for themselves. DS2 is a great journey, in my opinion it has a much richer and deeper lore than DS1 but without losing the theme, simply expanding the world and the stories. Its true that the gameplay changes a little, but its normal as its a different game. Playing a DS isn't just about running forward with a giant sword, it's about taking your time to appreciate the world and playing smart so you don't get frustrated. At this point I'm sure that the people who talk shit about DS2 have already forgotten why, generally they are people who have not even played the game or have heard some big streamer talk bad about it, or perhaps if they have played it, they want play it going full forward, rolling like crazy and dying countless times. But if that happens, it is not the fault of any game, but rather that they cannot adapt to a different gameplay.y
The funny thing is, the more people talk badly about DS2 the more excited I get to play it. Since the whole souls franchise is new to me, it’s gonna be interesting to look at it without being a long time fan of it. I have a feeling I will like DS2 :)
It's because Myazaki wasn't much involved with DS 2 and it got some huge development problem, honestly there's some huge problem with DS 2 hitboxs and some area are just a pain in the ass , much more than the other souls, they also scrapped the original lore (the one shown in the cinematic). Overall it's still a great game but I think it's still lacking compared to other soulsborne
Playing for story is fine, but ds2 was technical downgrade from ds1. Game as well only gets good in DLCs gameplay wise. I don't tell anyone to not play it, but rather temper your expectations GREATLY.
@@FutayuriShironeko To be honest, I don't think so, I still think the gameplay is extremely good for the standard games we have nowadays, of course it MAY be worse than other "souls games", but still, it's very cool, and yes, the DLCs are a work of art
@@LucasMattos2002 celebrating downgrades just because gaming standards in general are in the shitter is not something i will be dishonest about. DS2 was a Functional downgrade over DS1. You can still think it's fine, but truth remains the same. It's a downgrade on top of the worst hit boxes in the series and by far worst enemy AI.
@@LucasMattos2002 It was truly one of the souls games. When in my first playthrough half if not more of the bosses had hit boxes so bad you would think it was coded on actual stone tablets, not to forget that their AI stopped working and they just stood there looking confused after getting hit 1 too many times. If you like it for it's gameplay good for you. It's just that I have standards slightly higher than "well it's not complete dogshit". I'm not denying that powerstancing in Elden Ring came from DS2, but that would've good implementation regardless. However, Assetics, ADP, Life gems, 8 directional movement, fall damage scaling makes no sense, spells and arrows going straight through walls, weird acceleration system that causes you to fail jumps or fall to death randomly (unless full sprint), AI causing enemies to either stop working or falling to their deaths, enemies getting into each other's way preventing them from actually moving, enemies dropping aggro randomly (sometimes inches from your face). Having replayed it recently in annual souls series rerun DS2 is 4.5/10 AT BEST comparing to all other fromsoft games. Only quality part being DLCs is also insanely bad since base game has only 2 good bosses assuming you don't over level due to tens of millions of souls you get even without farming. Story is fine, gameplay is like stitched up and revived cadaver who forgets where he's going and why every 2 mins. It works if you're lucky, but chances are higher that it will start falling apart.
If you like the Chaos Witches (that use pyromancy in the DS1 intro) I highly recommend Hawkshaw's lore video on Dark souls Demon's. It's a completely different interpretation of the lore that fights the common concensus. Probably should watch it after beating the game though.

I've played DS2 in it's entirety, and it's by far the worst in my opinion. I can count on one hand the times I went "oh this is fun" even counting the DLC's. That said, everyone's reasons for liking it is just as valid as my reasons for not liking it, so there is obviously no "right" opinion. People should always go in and judge by themselves.

in terms of "first experience/playthrough" "my rank goes demons souls (2009) cuz it was the first and i loved the dark atmosphere even more so than dark souls 1. then from there in order, i go ds1, bloodborne, ds3, ds2, elden ring. i dont include sekiro because it substantially deviates from the gameplay of the other games for me personally but that game was amazing as well. if i take into account subsequent playthroughs and replayability experience...it changes up abit. ds3 in that regard might be my favorite then ds2.
The best explanations for what sort of is and happens comes with playing all 3 games. Dark Souls 1 is often known for how your environment comes together. DS2 is known for emitting a more tranquility vibe and the most buid expression options and fashion. DS3 is considered the best for bossfights and ending the story. As an expression enthusiast, I myself love DS2 the most, followed by DS3. DS1 has options, but I find there's twice the mannerism and timing expression to explore upon it which you can miss and not explore builds at all. The weird part about that is that there's 3-6x the secrets in Dark Souls 2 than the other two. Definitely play them in order for maximum context and see what you recognize.
Rule of thumb. Fire isn't actually fire. It's literally the energy of existence. there was know disparity before it. Disparity means opposite spectrums and differences. Basically things as simple as night and day didn't exist before it. In a way, Fire was something close to the big bang. Except it can be harnessed.
it's very interesting that unlike 1 and 3 ds2 has a very psychological intro, which makes sense since it greatly expands on the undead curse and hollowing and it also seems very different from the other two just like the game itself. also Nito=Death Soul; the Witch of Izalith=Life Soul; Gwyn=Light Soul; Furtive Pygmy=Dark Soul Ds1 was released in 2011 so 13 years ago not 5 years ago, but the looks of cinematics are not comparable to that of the game especially back then.

Dark souls series and Elden Ring are in the same company that develops them, Fromsoft, of course they have the similar feels, but Dark Souls series are pretty straight forward of their stories, and if you want to know more of the lore of he world, read every item's descriptions you come across, since that's where almost all of the lores are. You find these Lands all so beautiful, until you walk these dark and empty Kingdoms for the 50th time, dying time and time again, hollowing more each time. Until you're nothing but an empty Husk, standing in front of luscious Gates, without even knowing why :) Elden Ring is a perfect Game with flawless Lore contained within itself; but the Dark Souls Trilogy is an entirely different Beast of a Story. Interwoven Plotlines and the Concepts of Sadness, Hopelessness and Heroism to explore. The Fire fades, and only Darkness will remain...
dark souls 3 is the best. Nameless, accursed Undead, unfit even to be cinder. And so it is...that ash seeketh embers. check out the bloodborne intro also.
Darksouls 2 is the weakest and worst of the souls games, however it is still a gold standard to most games around the time it came out. It plays with mechanics that the other games either didn't have or dropped and has some artificial difficulty with enemy placements, but if you have 2 platinum games and a gold game, it means the gold is still good, just not as good as the platinum, for all those saying how bad ds2 is.
@@beckachuu Most hate it for its gameplay due to being technical downgrade to DS1 due to being made by completely different Fromsoft team, story is ok. Hit boxes worst out of entire series, strafing is slower when locked on for no reason as well, very often enemy AI will get lost and forget what it's doing even to this day. Ok, so about Dark Souls 2: it is a really really good game The problem is that most people compare it to Dark Souls 1, which is consistently titled "The best video game of all times", so it's not really a dair comparison. And of course, a lot of people are annoyed at DS2 because it tried out a lot of new concepts and tried to be similar to DS1, but still be vastly different I personally prefer it over 3 in terms of story and concept for this reason, it tried to be it's completely own thing, unlike 3 which, mostly, went back to being 1 again Anyways, I love all of them and will replay them until I die

The intro of DS2 is a portrayal of the main themes, rather than a literal world setup. It is a game about slowly losing yourself to dementia, with all you know fading away. It permeates the game in ways I won't talk about cos spoilers but God I love how bleak that game is.
If you say that it's because you haven't understood the story of ds2 bro, of course it has to do with it, in fact the first scene you see when you start playing is you after having fallen through that whirlpool of water and arrived at Drangleic

Funny thing is the opening of dark souls 1 shows the eradication of Dragons, and the ones you see in game are just Wyverns or drakes, poor imitations of dragons. So there is barley any real dragons in any of the games.
Don't be fooled by the intro, DS2 is definitely the worst of the series compared to 1 & 3. Im gonna be completely honest yall, but the people who say DS2 is the best are the people who played it first.
elden ring is a spiritual sequel to the dark souls series. It has nothing to do with dark souls lore or story but they are essentially the same concept of game. Also most people who play souls games started with dark souls three so the nostalgia tells them its better. 3 has a lot of objective issues but that's for you to decide.
You know that people aren’t dumb and they can sniff out fake reactions. I know you don’t care and it’s okey because you never played the game but forcing fake reactions is just painful. As a hardcore fan of the series, I find your reaction very disappointing 👎
Demon's Souls has the best opening Cinematic, but they are all good in their own ways. I personally liked the wax melting effects in DS 2 opening a lot as an artistic choice, but overall it's the weakest intro. (Most time wasted on showing the actual narrator instead of important world building stuff like dragons)
It happens, but DS2 is not a game about heroes, legends, etc. It's about a little guy who lost everything and now searches for some purpose in his miserable life that will never come to an end, just becoming empty.

In their place Yui Tanimura and one other dude were put in charge, and tried to fix and patch the game before the release date (Bandai Namco severly shortened their development time so they had to hurry with the game which can be noticed sometimes.)
However DS2 was the only Souls game that I was truly immersed in. The atmosphere, world-building and the lore are my favourite out of the Trilogy. Many people don't see it though bc they had already made their opinion by reading some dudes online say "DS2 is bad", and so they never actually checked out the game.
I‘m honestly most excited to try out DS2 because of how different everyone’s opinion is. Curious to see what I think. Thank you for explaining!
Bruh... DARK SOULS 3 IS THE GOAT... HE IS THE GOAT OF THE SOULS GENRE! OSTS ITSELF ARE MASTERPIECES
9:15 You can see the reflection of the ruins turn into a city/cathedral.
I agree that DS2’s intro is most unique and intriguing. DS1’s is iconic, while DS3’s is the least spectacular in my opinion
Glad to see people not shitting on DS2 in the comments lol
Lol
Lmaoooo that’s so funny. Why didn’t they just make the intro at the end
5:36 Its stunning for something 5 years ago yes, but also this cinematic is 100% identical to the one from 2011
4:06 Hehe....let's see what her opinion is on them after finishing Dark Souls 1. ^^'
monkaS
I love all three games, though I do feel DS2 is the most unique of the three, so I'm excited to see your eventual thoughts on it.
It's crazy that in the beginning of dark souls 2 you see your character collapse in a storm and actually die before coming back undead.
I dunno if you seen it but the ds1 bartholomew trailer was the trailer that got me playing ds1 back in the day
Don't pay attention to those who directly speak badly about DS2 at the first opportunity they get, how can you be a fan of a saga and try to ruin new people who discover it for themselves.
Overall it's still a great game but I think it's still lacking compared to other soulsborne
all of them are worth playing, ignore this people talking shit about DS2, and awesome reaction
@@FutayuriShironeko i do think it was a downgrade, but still, its a really good game, im not denaying truth
However,
Assetics, ADP, Life gems, 8 directional movement, fall damage scaling makes no sense, spells and arrows going straight through walls, weird acceleration system that causes you to fail jumps or fall to death randomly (unless full sprint), AI causing enemies to either stop working or falling to their deaths, enemies getting into each other's way preventing them from actually moving, enemies dropping aggro randomly (sometimes inches from your face).
Putting it on my list, thank you!
Second one the best and i dont care what people think about DS2 most of them probably didnt even play it just they repeat what they heard like mindless drones :P
I just wish i can play bloodborne and Demon souls :C im pc player ,
and nice reactions , i love DS and ER lore videos and waiting for more reactions
Fr
I've played DS2 in it's entirety, and it's by far the worst in my opinion. I can count on one hand the times I went "oh this is fun" even counting the DLC's. That said, everyone's reasons for liking it is just as valid as my reasons for not liking it, so there is obviously no "right" opinion. People should always go in and judge by themselves.
I think this video is real nito.
Took me 3 days to get this comment
Dark Souls 3 definitely the best one ^^ especially the soundtrack is better than elden ring's in general
I‘m excited to get to it!
No it isn't
Soundtrack better than elden ring? No way dude.
@@rigby8701the worlf itself isn't zs good ad DS1, but it has the best bosses so far, and the last DLC boss being without any doubt one of the best boss fight ever made
Hopefully ER DLC will take the firet place, because it would mean it has better bosses than BB and DS3 dlcs
The soundtrack is definitely not better than elden ring lol. Lichdragon fortisax ost alone clears all of ds3 except maybe gael
in terms of "first experience/playthrough" "my rank goes demons souls (2009) cuz it was the first and i loved the dark atmosphere even more so than dark souls 1. then from there in order, i go ds1, bloodborne, ds3, ds2, elden ring. i dont include sekiro because it substantially deviates from the gameplay of the other games for me personally but that game was amazing as well. if i take into account subsequent playthroughs and replayability experience...it changes up abit. ds3 in that regard might be my favorite then ds2.
Ds1 and 3 are about the legends and history of the world, while ds2 is a more personal, intimate journey.
The more people tell me about ds2 the more I’m looking forward to playing it myself
The DS1 cinematic actually came about 13 years ago.
The main reason that there was no Dragon in Dark Souls 3 is because by that time almost all of the dragons have been killed
the first one is and will always be the best one for me, replayed it several times compared to the handful of times i did the others
it's very interesting that unlike 1 and 3 ds2 has a very psychological intro, which makes sense since it greatly expands on the undead curse and hollowing and it also seems very different from the other two just like the game itself.
also Nito=Death Soul; the Witch of Izalith=Life Soul; Gwyn=Light Soul; Furtive Pygmy=Dark Soul
Ds1 was released in 2011 so 13 years ago not 5 years ago, but the looks of cinematics are not comparable to that of the game especially back then.
Dark Souls 2 had some amazing cinematics leading up to its release.
If you wanna see a dragon the Dark Souls 2 Announcement Trailer has one. lol
Dark Souls 3 is still my most favorite trailers of all Souls games.
yo i love how ur whole channel is dark souls im home now i live for dark souls i just got my friend dark souls 3 with all the dlc cuz i want him to play it so bad lol now that he owns it ima use the power of gilt to make him play
Heya am a relatively new fan and been enjoying the soulsbourne content. Would like to recommend although I know alot of people would reason otherwise to save Bloodbourne for last in the series and have the darksouls series completed first. As a cherry on top for your experience as it is still my favorite of them all in terms of overall gameplay/mechanics characters and lore. But enjoy nonetheless. 😊
I’m planning on playing bloodborne last!
Awesome yeah have kept up with maxor reactions so seen how the list goes. And can't wait. 🤘
Plsyed the originals then the remasters this game is just *chefs kiss* my friend brought me onto this one day i saw him playing then i took the reins and he was like holy shit dude ur a natural😂😂

Ds1 isn’t that unfair. Ds2 though, yes.
We love a bit of suffering

Beckachuu: "It's quite similar to Elden Ring intro isn't?"
Me: Are you for real? Dark souls series and Elden Ring are in the same company that develops them, Fromsoft, of course they have the similar feels, but Dark Souls series are pretty straight forward of their stories, and if you want to know more of the lore of he world, read every item's descriptions you come across, since that's where almost all of the lores are.
Anyways, put that aside love your reaction to the Dark Souls series even though it has been passed for a month now, cheers, and don't go hollow 😉.
Hidetaka Miyazaki and Co are brilliant love em all the souls games every location is connected to the next
Ds1 was released 10+ years ago
Dark Souls is much darker than Elden Ring you will suffer 💀
Dark souls 1 is the most fun first time experience
Dark souls 3 is easily the most fun to replay
And dark souls 2 was easily a game that happened.
It would be cool to watch you watch all of the boss cutscenes but sadly they are spoilers
I‘ll think about it!
The lore about Yhorm in DS3... 😢😢
dark souls 3 is the best.
Nameless, accursed Undead, unfit even to be cinder. And so it is...that ash seeketh embers.
check out the bloodborne intro also.
i recommend you play in order ds1 ds2 then ds3
🤣
DS1 opening has story, DS2 and 3 opening cinematics have very little in comparison.
I‘m actually really enjoying DS2, I don’t see why people hate it so much

@@beckachuu its still an above average game. it's just the weakest of the series by far
@@beckachuu Most hate it for its gameplay due to being technical downgrade to DS1 due to being made by completely different Fromsoft team, story is ok. Gameplay has a lot of clunckiness and hidden mechanics that some of them are being discovered to this day, not because game is deep, rather game either doesn't tell you what certain stats do or in case of certain one straight up lies in it's description.
Hit boxes worst out of entire series, strafing is slower when locked on for no reason as well, very often enemy AI will get lost and forget what it's doing even to this day.
It has it's charm and you might get lucky to not encounter a lot of game's flaws, but temper your expectations gameplay wise, since that's were game is at it's weakest.
@@beckachuuIt's worth a playthrough either way, as there are certain plotlines and characters that carry into Dark Souls 3. The best way to enjoy it is to appreciate the game for what it is, not to be frustrated with what it could've been. The DLC's are the highlight of these games, and Dark Souls 2 is no exception.
What are you talking about its the best dark souls game?
Ok, so about Dark Souls 2: it is a really really good game
The problem is that most people compare it to Dark Souls 1, which is consistently titled "The best video game of all times", so it's not really a dair comparison.
And of course, a lot of people are annoyed at DS2 because it tried out a lot of new concepts and tried to be similar to DS1, but still be vastly different
I personally prefer it over 3 in terms of story and concept for this reason, it tried to be it's completely own thing, unlike 3 which, mostly, went back to being 1 again
Anyways, I love all of them and will replay them until I die
Yeah I have a feeling at this point people are hating on dark souls 2 just to join the trend. I’m gonna try it for myself and try to keep an open mind :)
Dark Souls 1 was 5 Years ago?
Ds3 is by far the most replayable today, but I agree worst trailer, it can't be understood without context
Well if you like the dark souls 2 cinematic the most, I'm sorry to tell you that the cinematic has absolutely nothing to do with the game.
I’ve been robbed
The intro of DS2 is a portrayal of the main themes, rather than a literal world setup. It is a game about slowly losing yourself to dementia, with all you know fading away. It permeates the game in ways I won't talk about cos spoilers but God I love how bleak that game is.
If you say that it's because you haven't understood the story of ds2 bro, of course it has to do with it, in fact the first scene you see when you start playing is you after having fallen through that whirlpool of water and arrived at Drangleic
@@beckachuuNo you haven't, it has a lot to do with it, the person who commented this just doesn't know the lore lol

I started with elden ring and didn’t have the intention to ever play dark souls. But then I fell in love with the game and decided I wanna try the rest
If you finnished Elden Ring then Dark souls will be rather easy
Funny thing is the opening of dark souls 1 shows the eradication of Dragons, and the ones you see in game are just Wyverns or drakes, poor imitations of dragons. So there is barley any real dragons in any of the games.

You talked literally throughout the entire 3rd intro, which by far is the best game of the series
Funny
elden ring is a spiritual sequel to the dark souls series. It has nothing to do with dark souls lore or story but they are essentially the same concept of game. Also most people who play souls games started with dark souls three so the nostalgia tells them its better. 3 has a lot of objective issues but that's for you to decide.

okay mike
Demon's Souls has the best opening Cinematic, but they are all good in their own ways. I personally liked the wax melting effects in DS 2 opening a lot as an artistic choice, but overall it's the weakest intro. (Most time wasted on showing the actual narrator instead of important world building stuff like dragons)
It happens, but DS2 is not a game about heroes, legends, etc. It's about a little guy who lost everything and now searches for some purpose in his miserable life that will never come to an end, just becoming empty.
