Excellent, I'm 57 and I took on two blokes and a girl in their 20's and I probably would have been massacred only the cops broke it up.
Time before that was with another 21 Yr old bloke twice my size, and the cops broke that up too. That time was in the main reception area of Dublin criminal court.
I'd rather take a kicking than back down to anyone

It's obvious that Samuel is over the moon with his win. While he doesn't do humble very well, he was at least trying and that makes a big difference in my estimation of him.
The real winner here is charity. The hospital in Uganda is a superb cause and I wish him well with his efforts to improve the lives of the locals out there.
Well done to you both for following through on what was, after all, a bit of a childish bet. 😊
The good news is that nobody was hurt (too badly) and everyone can take away something positive from the experience.

If the Samuel from his first fight had fought rob on his first fight, my view is Samuel would have lost. But Samuel won fair and square and it was a great event. Plus some people do well from the charity.

Two very nice geezers! I feel a bit bad now for saying Samuel was a thug. He's much more of a gentle giant. Well done for building the hospital on the back of the fight. That is absolutely awesome.

I think one always should be graceful in victory and in defeat. I thought both parties tried to do this. It’s funny because it seemed like Sam was making points like how he won… but Rob was not letting him talk too loosely because he pointed out the “weight advantage” and the age difference… I think Sam trained really hard, lost the weight and has found something he’s enjoying… Robs game is not boxing … and that’s ok… I think the takeaway lesson is… in life… find the game you’re good at… and play it… be it chess, dominoes or monopoly…

Complacency is the enemy of progress. Now you have your rocky story. You know your enemy, you know what he can do. So train until your last breath and beat him this time because the guy is insufferable.

This is worse than the Misfits stuff from youtube. Samuel had previously boxed years ago and hasn't got any better. Thankfully in proper, amateur boxing, it's unlikely these 2 would have ever got a medical card.

  • @NY-Dani

Been watching boxing for over 30 years, fought for years and know the sport inside out. I thought Rob won it to be honest. That 1st round was all Rob and to score that 10-8 based on a dodgy knockdown was strange. Rob was landing straighter, cleaner punches and should have got the nod in my opinion. Still, fair play to that Samuel guy for losing all that weight and giving it a go.

Mad love to both of them for stepping into the ring and raising a load of dough for charity.
But - all the trash talking beforehand was a huge yawn-fest; it was a charity bout, not some world title unification lark. I know you both had tickets to sell but it was the perfect opportunity to be better than that.
No rematch please, once is enough.

extremely nice to see you 2 talking about the fight in a very friendly way; no regret for the challenge; Rob is much smaller than Samuel, but you are approaching in a very calculated way.; very close to win. yor are a e real disruptor, never seen in thsi property business; very considerate and praised Samuel for the fight. you are going in to the ring not to kill Samuel, going in with excitment to meet the challenge, you got it. Fight is not good for both party although you may not intend to knock each other, accident can happen, so no mor fight please.

Loved this debrief, my respect for Samuel has gone up a lot after seeing him train and conduct himself post-win. Of course I already had tons of respect for big dog Rob, and win or lose there has been absolutely zero negatives/downsides as both of you should be extremely proud of doing the hard thing, leading from the front and raising a shit ton of money for charity, that's what its about! Not to mention the incalculable parallel lessons between the business world and fighting and how getting good at one will no doubt benefit the other. Respect boys.

You did very well in that fight Rob, especially at your age, against a guy who is a LOT younger and a lot heavier. You looked like a competent boxer to me. Samuel surprised EVERYONE including me. I was intrigued to know if Samuel was one of those fat blokes who can't fight, or if he was one of those fat blokes that you dont mess with (lol), and it was the latter. His training obviously went really well, and he found out that he can actually box, and do it very effectively. He is still young enough to continue having fights (youtube boxing) and even make money out of it.
If you were younger Rob, I think that you too could continue boxing and making money out of it too. Only you can decide on that though.
Well done guys, you did yourselves proud 👍
