In my Robert Mays fan fiction. He is saving all of his pennies for a 1968 Oldsmobile Vista-Cruiser Wagon with "Real" imitation wood paneling. Great Job my new favorite way to watch the draft BTW 💯✌🤟🤘
This was legendary. I watched the whole thing but on catchup because I'm in the UK. The set looked so good, and you guys managed to keep up 5 hours of informative chat without once resorting to hot takes or anything. I can't even say how much better this coverage is than what you'd get on mainstream TV, although admittedly it's tailored to hardcore fans.
Best draft coverage, massively appreciate you guys. Woke up in Europe this morning, avoided spoilers and tuned in to you for the coverage. Looking forward to rounds 2 & 3!
Awesome to see the show come this far... Psyched for Robert Mays and the Bears. Feedback: would be nice to have stronger key light on faces and add some lighting from backside angle for hair light to help separate from background
The other thing about the vikes that no one brings up is that they're gonna have a crap ton of cap space next year even if they sign JJ.. so they may be low on picks for next year, but they can be super active in free agency.
Talk me off the ledge, I’m a bills fan and all I see is us losing another shot at the SB as Xavier worthy burns a corner then gets hip drop tackled by Damar Hamlin to put the chiefs in game winning field goal range
They obviously have multiple receivers with similar grades and were able to trade back to get a third round pick, which they didn't have after the Douglas trade. Now there's a lot of fantastic talent available at 33, and they can take the highest player on their board. I would love Newton or DeJean at 33 and Polk, Franklin, or Coleman at 60. Don't get upset if it's not a receiver at 33. Beane did extremely well tonight. We now control the top of Day 2. Teams are already calling for pick 33.
You guys are really good! Information without hyperbole, except where needed (Penix). The leg touch when Penix was drafted was hilarious. And acknowledgment of bias. ESPN is WWF This is UFC
Classic/typical Apple AirPod/earbud moment when Dianna’s fell out mid-interview. Dianna handled it like a pro, didn’t even blink, but if she had an (AirPod) Pro bud it would’ve stayed put. Well done, DR! Cmon, Apple, get it right!
I like how Mays and Tice can't wait to bleep all over the Raiders' pick of Bowers and start doing it then Brugler takes over as the voice of reason. They'll probably never do a livestream/pod with him again.
Ppl forget KC traded up and took Mahomes 10th overall, gave up draft capital in order to take him instead of “improving “ the team, when they already had Alex Smith who was coming off TWO CONSECUTIVE Pro Bowl years, FOUR STRAIGHT Division titles, led the Chiefs to their first playoff win in over a decade, and led the nfl in passer rating. So all this bashing of Penix to the Falcons, especially coming from Falcons fans, is comical at best, foolishly casual at worst. Falcons fans will feel both very stupid and very happy about this pick in a cpl yrs.
Pat Mahomes is a hall of fame QB. Yes, if Penix turns into even an All Pro, yes. Kirk Cousins might be tradable in a year or two. Yes. There are scenarios where this move ultimately makes sense. Yes. But as of today, given what appears to be the situation in Atlanta, it’s a head scratcher. And to say that the reaction to the pick is comical or casual, that’s misplaced. The skepticism is understandable even if Mr. Penix and the aFalcons can prove themselves right.
The criticism isn't that they already have their starter, the criticism is that they JUST signed their starter to a four-year deal, likely drastically overpaid him in the first place, pumped his contract full of guarantees, THEN took a 23y/o QB eighth overall. It's completely unthinkable
I mean.. come on, man. Do we really think the 23-year old with 4 major injuries who took 6 years to break out is at all comparable to the young Mahomes with a nuclear arm in his third year?
The Falcons just paid Kirk Cousins 100 million. The Chiefs were never going to pay Alex Smith top tier money. Even then, Alex Smith was a guy who everyone agreed was playing well because he was in a good offense with Jamaal Charles, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce. No one said that he was elevating that team like what the Falcons said indirectly by paying top money for Cousins.

Nate's instant reaction to the Box Nix pick is brillaint
I can't watch the draft without you guys💙
"Someone in the Atlanta office fell in love with him"
(It was Ryan Pace)
It was a joy to watch this show breaking down everything. Your reactions to the Falcons choice was great lol.
Easily the best draft coverage.
As a Bears fan, I can't remember the last time I have been this excited!

The lighting and palette on this set was phenomenal. Amazing discussion and analysis. Well done, (The) Athletic.

I sent that depressing Seahawks email at the end of the season and let me tell ya I’m back and toxically positive again baby
That email was an absolute banger
❤ made with tears
Best draft content last night, enjoyed it guys
That couch looks uncomfortable

1:59:58 lol, Nate is the epitome of "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed." when Bo Nix was announced.

idk if this helps or gives you any relief but.... i'm pretty sure damar hamlin would never catch Xavier worthy to even hit him? *shrugs* 😂
I'm assuming in your mind this loss happens in the playoffs. Boy do I have some worse news for you

Jaguars starting corners should be Tyson Campbell and Ronald Darby. Savage in the nickel and Cisco and Antonio Johnson at safety

Nate Tice kinda resembles Forrest Griffin
These guys are way wrong on Nix. Can’t wait to see them eat crow.
