which version of UE is this? I got 4.27 There is NO Uniform RANGED float. Only Uniform AorB. And there is a Random ranged float. I even unchecked Library, just in case. Nothing. Add velocity is NOT in the Particle update. It's in the Particle Spawn. And value 0.4 does nothing. Needs 400. And when you create the curve, that's where I lost it. The emitter vanishes. Tried all combinations. Nothing. Bottom line: I don't know why UE keeps changing the parameters in each and every subversion they develop. It's confusing and frustrating. Any help is welcome. And thanks for the tutorial. Probably the only decent smoke emitter sim out there.
Hi! I have a question. If I would like to do a sand with little rocks falling from a tunnel cealing, what is the process I need to follow? I mean, there is a way to create the subuv in a easy way? Any advice? Thank you!
it is a wonderful and helpful tutorial, i am very new in unreal, can you tell me how can i bring the side up, i am trying to make a trail for jet aircrash, but the side do not mach with the scale.
Yes, you need to go to "initialize particle" and adjust the " particle size to uniform and set a value. Things have changed slightly since I put that video out.
5:38 i dont have the "edit value" for the sprite size so i cant change it Do you have a solution?? And my smoke disapeared too on the preview (idk when) but when i open the "initialize particle" i dont see the " particle size to uniform" :/
@@gamedevoutpost9270 I seem to have the same problem. I made the smoke part of a system with a thruster trail. When i put it in a world, the smoke doesnt show up, only the trail. The smoke shows up in the niagara editor and in the blueprint viewport if i attach it to a blueprint. I dont know what causes this. Can you maybe help? The video is awesome and really helpfull though. I could never have done it by myself thanks.(still cant apparently..)
@@gamedevoutpost9270 Since you mentioned the initial size, what I did was to click on the little carret in the scale thing, convert the parameter as a float and set a random value, I put 18, now it is working
@@gamedevoutpost9270 Yup, I can tell you that the size is not added by default, you have to actualy set the sprite size in the particle setting before you made any sprite edit because it is by default at 0. Now you can directly create the niagara system without passing through the effect and stuff
Thank you very much for the most (for beginners) detailed tutorials of niagara =)
Thanks for showing the walkthrough to use material inside Niagara, I got many ideas now!
This is very good dude! Thx. Well explained. Straight to the point!
There are really not many official teaching 謝謝你
amazing !! thank you!!!
perfectly solved my problem!!
Mine didn't quite look the same and I'm not sure why, but it was a great tutorial, it's a ridiculously powerful tool
Short and sweet!
Had to play at 0.5x but very informative, thank you. :)
this is the first tutorial I watched in 0,75x speed instead of 1,5x. Pretty good overall tho
3:45 there isn't an Add Velocity anymore. Should we use Scale Velocity?
i used wind in particle update
Helped a ton, thanks!
Great tutorial :) just wondering if there a new name for 'add velocity' as well since i cant seem top find it
"Add velocity" is not in the Particle update. It's in the Particle Spawn

Using 4.26.2, and have the same problems.
Thanks so much !!!!
uniform range float is not showing for me, any way to fix this?
Yes! They actually altered the naming. It is now called "Random Range Float."
@@gamedevoutpost9270 Good to know, thank you so much :)

Initial particle then size. Then you can use scale size in particle update
I'll talk about niagara very carefully, it's only you
My smoke disappears when i get to the part where you add the scale sprite size... any fix for this?

Well i put randomize on rotation and value. Now it works
Nothing happens, when i drag the effect on my scene. Can anybody help?
Are you putting a "system$ into the world not an "emitter?"

Strange, when I add the scale, the smoke is gone
That is strange. Did you set an initial size for initial particle?
@@gamedevoutpost9270 I do not think so, I did exactly like the tutorial. Whenever I disable the sprite scaling, the smoke reapear
