I speak for myself. This year has been challenging for most of us and sadly, devastating for others. During this chaos, some of us chose to stop viewing TV and turn to the internet to relax from the taxing wave of less than honest informational entertainment. Myself as an avid You-Tube viewer, have selected a few channels that peak my interests and provide me with a mental release that we all need in todays world. Kind of a therapeutic dumbing down. No Political opinions, no rants about the injustices of the world, no platforms on how one should feel about one thing or another and how wrong it is to think any other way. Being a long-winded advocate for brevity, the point I’m trying to make is just to say thank you. You and your channel content have provided an outlet of sanity in an otherwise crazy ass world. You have shared with us your interests and adventures. You invited us along, not as observes but as accomplices. You’ve taken us to places we might never have gotten to go. In doing so we got to see things and meet people via the channel. I believe every one is a book, one that’s worth the read. It has drama, laughter, and sorrow. When one shares their book of life it’s an awesome event to behold. Im grateful for the time shared. In closing, regardless of what kind of challenges and situations thrown at us this year December 25th is still Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and yours. May our future be brighter than years past. P.S. No I’m not running for any office.

Another great video. It's not always the miles that count. At least that's what I tell myself at 61. Nice new hammock too. Take care and thanks for the video, Al
Went for a 12 mile+ mountain bike ride on singletrack above 6000 feet today. Stopped and had 'brunch' in the sunshine while loafing in my hammock. No outdoor excursion, short or long is complete without a hammock to rest in. A hot meal when the temp is 40F or below is a welcome distraction. Sunshine felt good, no wind. Utah is unusually dry this year. Normally this area would be under at least 2 feet of snow. No need to waste a good opportunity! Looks like you and Jonah had a whale of a good time in BWCA. Gotta love the Silky saw, no matter which size/model you have. I'm really liking the Superior insulated hammock....thank you for your real, honest review, using it in real winter conditions. Need to educate our younger comrades to the joys it brings. Thanks for sharing.

Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! I love your videos. Thank you for creating them and sharing them. They have been a great escape and distraction during this year especially. Wishing you and your family well and a Happy New Year!
I actually enjoy the shorter videos. It’s just enough to tickle that specific itch without showing everything a destination has to offer before I get a chance to make my way there. Videos that show every foot step of a hike kinda take a bit of the magic away when you see it in person. Maybe?
Easier to edit for sure. I've long ago given up trying to please everyone on length of videos. I just let the trip reports play as the go and how-tos end up longer as I don't want to leave out info that I know I will be asked about anyways and then have to type.

I use my Ribz Wear Pack for everything from hiking to canoeing, and even hunting. I love how it fits and versatile it really is. Shhg i think the superior gear hammock is my favorite so far.
I am smitten with it for sure!
That’s a beautiful lake!
They all are up there~~!
Went by the Linneville Gorge the other day. We also had the Christmas pears with Duke mayo and the cherries. Mighty Good!! Ummm!!! Happy New Year Shug!!
Whooooooo Buddy)))) Good times.
Shug very well may be the most interesting and cultured individual alive today
Well, I do fake it well...haaa
Great camp Shug and good coffee. A bit windy. Your setup worked well. I always have to get up and void about every 2.5 hours. One cold night I went 5 hours before I went. Finbar said he’ll no I ain’t getten up. Take care.
Strong wind a'blew! I too get up a couple times a night. Just part of it.
Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! I love your videos. Thank you for creating them and sharing them. They have been a great escape and distraction during this year especially. Wishing you and your family well and a Happy New Year!
Happy Christmas to you as well~~~~
I actually enjoy the shorter videos.
What a fantastic shot of you & Meg! Your girls are so beautiful! You & Meg & Aerial stay safe & healthy. Thanks for sharing the trip with us.
hat photo was 20 years ago. A memorable day at the lake. Folks always ask for more Meg but she is very private and has no need to be on a video or desire. So I sneak her in from time to time. Folks used to think I had a fake made-up wife!
And, I just love the pic of you and Meg at end. Humanity at its finest.
Sweet of ya'...We like to remember we were young once!
Meg is gorgeous. You are very lucky Shug
She prefers handy over handsome!
Shug you are the only successful You Toober that I know who has no trolls giving you thumbs down... LOL... They say that your you toob success can be measured in how many trolls you have...
No, I get them. 21 on my last video. Part of being on You Tube.
I use my Ribz Wear Pack for everything from hiking to canoeing, and even hunting. I love how it fits and versatile it really is. I've even been known to wear it in my hammock at night to help keep things from freezing (MN winters can be cold). Good golly its a great piece of gear, and I learned about it right here! Thanks Shug!
Sure hold a lot but trying not to twist up those straps is trying sometimes.!!! haaa
I love your paintings
Thank you.
As always. Love the video. I ordered the superiorgear hammock on the 16th. Hope to gets it soon and try it out. We have good amount of snow in the Woods. Taking it out as soon as I get it. Keep the video’s a coming.
Whoooooo Buddy))) Hope you enjoy it.
Ha! Glad to see Jessie Dixon again.... that was funny! I need to find Coffee Crisp stuff. 👍🏻
That Jesse is quite cruel. Coffee Crisp...try amazon.
Like the coffee dripper. I bought a non-collapsable one last year to try at home first and at my camper and love it. I had my sights set on the Vargo one for backpacking!
Your hammock/underquilt colors are funny... reminded me of an oversized tube of Colgate 😂😂
The color grew on me. Looked good in the woods. I'm getting an orange and gray one made. That one is a loaner.
Shug! Long time watcher, first time commenter! Its so good to see you out on the trail. Angleworm is one of my favorite places on the planet. In this long, dark, cold, pandemic winter... it really is good to see you out there-- taking it easy for all us sinners.
Yes for sure. Good short loop.
Another great video👍 Hoping I can watch the live stream on Tuesday! Can't believe your snow, Still none for winter camping up here in Nova Scotia. (Glad to hear Cold Frosty Morning make it's return to your videos🙂).
Though ya'll would have some up there 'eh.
Hey Shug!
Last time I hiked through Leadville I picked up an extra Melly and if you are interested I will send it too you. After everything you have taught me I can't think of anyone more deserving.
Really nice of you to offer. What size and color is it? Might be interested to buy it off of you. Had not really though about getting one...until now!
Lay-off season is almost here ! Looking forward to winter trips. Thanks for your videos. They always have me adjusting my equipment one way or another. That's part of the fun. As for you and your wife, cool photo!
Righto Lefty.
Outstanding Shug 👍🏼👍🏼
Whoooooo Buddy)))))
For a moment thought it was baby yoda (Grogu) on the back of his pack... Thanks for sharing love the winter landscape. Really like that hammock too more info is a good thing. 🤪
Getting me that hammock in orange and gray. Yes, I like it!
Thank you for the info on the SlickDrip.
You betcha!
Hope your Christmas was everything you wanted it to be. Pray that this year is no wheres near the cluster fudge last year was.
Time spent with family and very little computer time. Thankee.
Another amazing trip! Thanks for taking us along Shug. Still not used to seeing you with a full fire. Beautiful footage of area. Great trip with great company.
I can build the heck out of a fire but don't depend on them. I am lazy ya' know.
Love it Shug. Woooo Buddy!
Thankee.
Jonah is rockin' that Moosehead toque - decent Canadian beer company :)
Righto.
Great video. Love the banter just as much as the solo trips. Great picture of you and your wife at the end. God bless.
Thanks and Whooooo Buddy)))))
Awesome outing Shug. Great feedback on the gears and what not. Waiting myself for the snow to arrive here in the west coast. Take care bud!
Yessir.It'll arrive in due time.
Thanks, Shug. Your videos bring joy to my life. You've got me reminiscing about backpacking and mushing the Boundary Waters from all the way down here in Texas.
I do feel lucky to live 5 hours from it.
Hey Shug
Thank you very much for your time an effort in creating these videos. I am new to hammock camping and find YOUR videos outstanding and of course entertaining.
Thank You!!
Whoooooo Buddy)))))
we packed the BWCA a couple times in the early/mid 70s ... I have a distinct memory travelling along Rt 61, with that angry lake off to one side
I love the drive up 61...gateway!
Loved the video. Looks like you had a great trip.
Thankee.
Fantastic trip
Whooooo Buddy)))))
Whoohoo buddyyy! All secure in sector 7 😀
Locked down and tight. Whoooooo Buddy))))
In the winter I love big hemlock trees to set up under and spruce on the sides. Makes it
cozy,
Love a good hemlock tree.
Thank God there's a new Shug video to start my day off with!
Whooooo Buddy)))))
Thank you for taking the time & effort to produce these videos. I truly enjoy every one.
Thank you Anne.
Looked like some great fun
I always say backpacking is strange fun.
Good morning shug from Ohio I do have plenty of snow from the storm that hit us
And it looks like you and your friend are having fun for those three days in the snow
Keep on hiking
Whoooooo Buddy))))
I had my morning coffee watching the video. Thanks for another great video Shug!
Looking forward to getting some snow down this way. But, as always, it's taking its dear, sweet time getting here.
I love snow and I hate snow. Lots of clearing and shoveling at home. But all melted here right now.
Shug we was hot on your pulk tracks all day Saturday out there on the Angleworm. My girls are Xelias Aerial Arts students and were dying to run into you. They are also big fans of Jonah aka the Hebrew Hanger. Thank you for making our winter walking even more exciting.
Meg told me. We did not have pulks but someone did. Did you hike up the east side? We were up at Whiskey Jack lake Saturday.
@@shugemery oh I feel bad for the folks pulling the pulks, the snow was melting pretty good by the end of the day. We went up the west side of Angleworm and just did an out and back, about 7 miles, not bad for a 12 & 10 year old!!
I’ll be doing an overnight there later this winter. Do you prefer the Whiskey Jack campsite?
@@thomashauer6662 Whiskey Jack for the sunset!
