Fun fact: the Scout is so commonly associated with Jerma within the fandom that eventually the official comics revealed the Scout’s canonical first name to be Jeremy
is that really why they made his name jeremy???
@@timekeeperz9714yes, Jerma was originally a really popular tf2 streamer from boston who looked like scout. So in the comics they named the scout jeremy in his honor
@@timekeeperz9714 I was told it's because the voice actor is a fan of Jerma, because the scout voice actor is also a streamer/skit maker and looks up to Jerma, and asked if the scout could be named Jeremy after Jerma.

Spy can actually perfectly mimic voices, body movements and even personality despite not knowing someone more than a few minutes
maybe not perfectly - my favourite part of meet the spy is that if you pay close attention to the blu scout, he has some overexaggerated reactions to things, especially the soldier straight up shooting the person he thought was a spy without consideration, almost like he's acting.
@@dr.infernous9342 yeah. But in the comic he copied an enemy perfectly, despite only being in the same room as him for maybe a few minutes. He was only found out due to robotic eyes that can see through disguises
Well unless it’s demo it pyro them he has a tendacy to stop having legs or a head
There was actually a cue that scout was the spy, "cut" himself on the blunt edge of blade
@@hollowbrinethehollowfiedsu6365 pretty sure those were just straight up X-ray eyes which saw through it
The thing I love about Meet the Spy is that if you look carefully, there are loads of hints that the Scout is the Spy;
1. He doesn't know the code for the room.
2. When BLU Spy comes in, you can see Scout taking a look at Sniper's back.
3. When playing with the knife he 'cuts' himself, but if you look carefully you'll see it's the back of the knife that hits his fingers.
Also; At the end, RED Spy calls Scout's mum "my little cauliflower".
Also, I think that after solider typed in the code, scout lifted his arm a little, which could mean that he was trying to backstab him.
Another one; When the 'Scout' is near the room with the briefcase, the alarm says 'protect the briefcase'.
The 3rd fact is obviously not true. If you can pause it at the time he cuts himself, the knife part does touch his skin. Also even if it was true why would the red spy obviously fake a cut in front of his identical clone that has mastered the butterfly knife, his clone would quickly catch if he faked a cut.
@@alienboi2164 He's talking about the blunt side of the knife
@@AverageCatz I admit defeat I was wrong I'm sorry I didn't know that less than a quarter of his knife had a blunt side.
"The scout always felt like the most pathetic class"
Mentally, yes. Gameplay wise? NO.
I don't play so I don't know. But a scout would be pretty useless in actual battle, wouldn't it? Just hitting people with a metal bat sounds fun but what can he really do besides that? Did they give him an ult that would basically allow him to cheat by seeing through walls and marking the other team for his team to see or something?
@@paige8453scout has a shotgun. and a pistol. in fact, the only time youd ever realistically wanna use the melee slot is if you equip a weapon that you can launch a projectile with. also scout can double jump and he is by far the fastest class in the game (if you don’t take other classes’ movement tech into account)
also there is no such thing as an ult in tf2
And that speed of his matters a lot for him. Pro Scout players are basically unkillable gods since they can dodge pretty much anything short of aimbot.
Someone did a test where every class can have all of the class specific exclusive weapons and the meta devolved into Scouts using the Rocket Launcher or Flamethrowers. Shows how powerful just being the fastest jumpiest guy can be.
Scout can cap points double the speed
In the words of LazyPurple “I HAVE A SHOTGUN”
"The way they were approaching battle is pretty dumb though. They're just running at the guns!"
Yeah. Patterrz definitely didn't play more than one match of TF2 because you'd be surprised at how many people just run at the ubered Heavy and just get mowed down. Also, there's a very rare easter egg when gibbing a scout where Archimedes (the dove) will fly out of him.
WW1 be like
Also ,this was canonically filmed by a character named The Director for RED Team (who was afterwards killed on order of the Administrator for having seen to much). So of course he made RED team look good, by asking the BLU mercs to run in and get killed.
if im any other class than pyro i will probably just retreat, since with pyro i can just deny the uber
@@TF2CrunchyFrog Also, you know... BLU was kicking the shit out of RED and was literally storming their main base when the first-ever-in-all-of-history Ubercharge happened.
Like, yeah, pardon fucking me for launching a 99% successful siege, slaughtering nearly the entire army, and then 5 seconds from victory the last surviving guy gets an invincibility star and whips out a chain gun the size of a golf cart. The Engineer’s turret is the opposite. It’s an extremely powerful weapon that can mow down any class in moments. It often serves as basically a boss fight that the opposing team will need to coordinate to clear out if it’s set up well. The engineer is conversely quite weak and dependent on his buildings and teammates.
What about battle engie?
@@windrider2190There are obvious exceptions for unlocks like the Gunslinger, but he was specifically asking if the Engie Turret was powerful or if it was a limp noodle like in other games. The engie's basic turret, especially when fully upgraded, makes up most of the Engie's damage potential and is one of the strongest weapons in the game.
Engineer isn't really weak, he's equipped with shotguns and the stock pistol, both of which extremely powerful with enough skill.
@@toxic_shr00m Compared to any actual combat class he's weak. Shotgun is a secondary on all but scout and engie for a reason. He's got very middling health and unremarkable speed. He's not completely helpless in a duel, yes, but he is not someone built to wade into battle and dish out damage himself. Someone did an analysis comparing Torbjorn. Torb does most if his damage with his own weapon and his turret is a quick to deploy weapon but does only a bit extra. Engie is the reverse, with his damage mostly coming from his sentry gun and his own damage and battle ability being relatively low compared to the rest of the cast.
@@TheEmperorGulcasa Right but calling him "quite weak" is a significant disservice to a class that can kill anyone with two to three shotgun shots (without overheal). Basically what I'm saying is that engineer is comparatively less powerful but not objectively weak, far from it.

Fun Fact, the cut we see Sniper get on his cheek in the meet the spy video is on his model as a scar! I just love the little details that went into him like if you look closely at his thumb he has black nail which is a common injury for people who use his type of gun to end up with! it's from the gun pinching the nail as the new bullet is put in place, most likely because of that fancy twirl he did with it in his own video.
and that scar only appeared after the spy video came out.
Okay, but why would his finger get pinched if he uses bolt actions?

Fun fact: demo doesnt drink whiskey. He actually drinks 100% pure ethanol.
I guess the canon is a little patchy on this, but officially, it's supposed to be scrumpy - a kind of apple cider made of tart, shriveled or otherwise low-quality apples, left to ferment until "dry", ie. until all the sugars have been converted into alcohol. The result is a strong, rough cider with little to no sweetness or apple flavor left in it. You could call it the English version of malt liquor. Funnily enough, the bottle WAS originally meant to contain whiskey - there are unused assets in the game that show team-colored variants of the Bottle weapon, the Red variant having text that says "Red Shed Whiskey" and the blue variant simply saying "Scotch". For some reason, they scrapped that and gave both teams the same Bottle model and texture with the "XXX" written on it.

The Engineer's turrets are actually THAT powerful. At least back when I played.
To ballance it out, they have 3 stages:
Stage 1: That tiny turret right in front of him, which can deal decent damage, but has low health and a lower dps.
Stage 2: double minigun. These will wreck anyone who comes in its range.
Stage 3: same as 2, but with a rocket launcher on top.
The Engineer has to harvest scrap over time to upgrade said turrets, though he has other roles he can fill.
The turret's role is area denial, setting up turrets to stop enemy pushes. They aren't invincible, and can be overwhelmed by numvers and explosives. But a good Engineer can stop an uncoordinated team in its tracks!
i'm fairly sure level 3 fires slightly slower than 2 in exchange for the rocket launcher
@@MailMainbutnot nah they have the same bullet dps. Level 3 sentries are better than level 2 senteries because they have more health, rockets and same bullet dps.
Note:rockets can be a disadvantage against a pyro that knows how to deflect.
@@santiagoindisguise7289
But at the same time level 3s take a bit more time to deploy and the hitbox is slightly bigger so there are some downsides to level 3s.
@@R64GreatDays the hitboxes being bigger is kind of a double edged sword, since even though it can screw you up, it can also allow you to attack over edges. There is no better sentry here. It all depends on the situation/playstyle. Sometimes it's better to just have a level 1 sentry over a level 3 sentry.
@@santiagoindisguise7289
Yeah. I like the nuance of whether or not to upgrade. I often only upgrade to level 2 due to lower redeploy time if I need to consistently redeploy like on an attacking team.
One correction though. A level 2's gun barrels can shoot at the same height as a level 3.
That means theoretically a level 2 can be place in a spot where the barrels are barely peeking out. The smaller hitbox can make it harder to deal with.
Just a theoretical though. Don't really use this info much.
There's a few hints that the Blue Spy already knew that the Blue Scout was a Red Spy right from the get go:
- After he picks up the knife and expertly holsters it, he hands it straight to the hands of the Scout while holding his gaze on him. You can see his expression appears shocked as he pauses and blinks several times at the knife the Blue Spy handed back to him, essentially telling him "your move."
- He already has a folder of the Red Spy and Scout's mother at hand, he had plenty of time to pick up that piece of evidence when the intercoms started blasting about the Red Spy.
- The Red Spy nearly broke character because of how outraged he was, and for more salt on the wound the Blue Spy made use of that incident as an expression of their doom.
- The Blue Spy specifically targets the Blue Scout of the photos being the second worst thing to happen to him today, even going out of his way to shove him to grab his attention. The Blue Spy knows the Red Spy is trapped where he stands, and he can't do anything about it with Soldier and Heavy being there.
- The Blue Spy goes into detail of the Red Spy being a scoundrel, right in front of his face.
- The Blue Spy was going to reveal that the Blue Scout was the Red Spy before his head exploded, "He could even be-" The Red Spy goes to finish his sentence "Right behind you."
Blue Spy had him pegged from the very start, but because the Soldier was an impulsive lunatic and the Blue Spy took too long playing with his food, he lost the battle by getting shot in the face and distracting the Heavy and Soldier with his death.
The Engineer Dell Connagher is not a "blue collar worker", he canonically has 11 PhDs and is decended from the genius inventor Radigan Connagher who worked for BLU team in the 1890s. But yes, Dell _did_ work on an oil rig as a younger man.
Just because he's educated doesn't make him white-collar! Oil rig work is about as blue-collar as you get. 💪 😎

One thing I never really appreciated until now is how the Meet the Scout video specifically shows him beating up a Heavy. It feels a little farfetched, but I'm starting to feel like that's the whole point - it's their subtle way of telling you not to underestimate the scout, because he can hit way above his weight class in a very literal sense.

Well Patterrz, a wise man once said....
*"If I have to describe Sniper in one sentence, it would be.."Wow! I'm soo good at this game......And now I'm dead!!!"*
*-A Very Wise man*
LAZYPURPLE reference OMG
“But what about the times you aren’t even good?”
-A Very Wise Man
*"Wow! I'm Dead!!!"*
*-The same Wise man*
a nice detail I love about Meet the Spy is how the blue Spy immediately recognises the scout is the red Spy after he seemingly cuts himself on the dull side of the Butterfly Knife and tries to expose him before getting cut off at the end and having the red Spy continue his sentence "He could be you, he could me me! he could even be... right behind you"
5:54 so abput that
11:27 YOOOO THIS IS INSANE!!! He is the only reaction youtuber I know, who could tell right away that Scout is from Boston
And his voice acting of scout is pretty good
“That’s how I lost my medical license”
Oh he’s German
I will always trust unlicensed German medics
man was more surprised about medic being german than not having a license.
time for the obligatory sequel where you watch Expiration Date
