Does Matter give you something new comparing to Govee App?
Looks great. I want to add this to my hallway in a diffuser. But the plug is in the middle of the wall. Anyway to split in two directions? Do I need the controller? Less cables to try and hide/ stick above the molding.
How can I extended more which led litghs

Can you use the custom colors, under the music sensitive section, so like only have it banding or flashing just RED and no other colors? Thanks man, best video so far on the Govee M1 btw.
Question - I don't have good lighting in my room and there is no connection for a ceiling light. I am thinking of installing led light strips around the ceiling with a diffuser. Is GoVee M1 a good option? If not, can someone suggest a better option?

I would like to know if u can make your own scenes and name then as u like and then control it with alexa. Because i want to make myself a cloud roof and want to tell my alexa for exampel "sunrise" and then my costum setting will start. Is that possible?

Awesome. A couple of questions.
1) Will the previous non-matter branded version of the M1 also get matter via firmware update?
2) Can it be integrated into HomeKit now or not yet?
3) Would these light strips work if you plugged them into an outlet that was controlled by a light switch? Presumably you switch the light switch on and then control the colors in Homekit or the Govee app?
4) What if the above scenario with the light switch also had a dimmer on it?
If you have the older version of the M1, you need to upgrade the controller to make it compatible with Matter.

- Yes, the M1 with Matter is compatible with HomeKit.
- With these being a smart light strip, you shouldn't need a smart plug. The controller on the strip gives you the ability to power the lights on and off with a button.
@@SteveDOES Thanks for the info. What I'm trying to do is to replace some old rope lights on the kitchen floors and above the cabinets. But they are already hard wired to wall switches with dimmers.
I can easily replace them with these, but not sure how they'll work with wall switches and specifically dimmers or what the default will be each time you turn them on.
I can't speak to the dimmer part, but I have bedside lamps on a plug with a switch. We use smart bulbs in the lamps. I would recommend using the smart light features through homekit and not using the switch. It has to reconnect to the internet every time you turn the switch off and on again and there can be issues recognizing it. Plus, you will get annoying messages about it being unavailable.
