- Going for a short night-time walk around Mt. Coot-tha in Brisbane, Queensland. Found an assortment of animals, including a Gryllacridid (raspy cricket), Pristhesancus plagipennis (assassin bug), polydesmid millipede, Triboniophorus graeffei (red triangle slugs), huntsman spiders, and several Asianopis subrufa (net-casting/ogre-faced spiders).

Very interesting! Thanks!
one of the most interesting things about the net-casters: their eyes are so sensitive they essentially get "fried" during the day, and each night these spiders have to regenerate them
New pfp 🔥
The nymphs are very rare to find
The raspy cricket seems to be a Nunkeria Brochis Adult
Does seem to be a good fit. Thanks!
That net is so perfectly intricate.
What a coincidence, I saw a net casting spider last night waiting for prey.
I must say, Australia has some really beautiful cockroach species.
I just stumbled across your channel yesterday after doing a deepdive into learning about spiders and I love the in-depth knowledge you share, and all the photos and footage!
Thanks! There’ll be plenty more to come!
Love me some huntsmen
Love the new icon :D
Wonderful episode! I think you should do an episode just of huntsman spiders - what I love most
I look forward to your guide on net-casting spiders!
Net casting spiders are absolutely fascinating! What a unique talent!
Another great episode at Mt Coot-tha! Thanks for showing us Brissy at night and sharing your knowledge👦🏻
Thanks Ambrose! Hopefully with the weather warming up, Brisbane’s night life will soon be even more interesting.
Love the new channel logo.
Cheers. At a glance, I felt the old one looked more like the Eye of Sauron than anything invert-related.
Another amazing video full of invertebrates that I’ve never seen before, I absolutely love how much I’m able to learn from every upload of yours. Asianopis subrufa is a really impressive species, I had no idea that their eyes were that much more sensitive than ours. Australia has such unbelievable invertebrate diversity, when we finally get out there to visit we’ll have to meet up!
I’m super keen for it! Been chatting with Spencer about the same thing. Would love for you guys to make it down here someday.
Great video, as per usual!
