    "Shuhari" concept: www.accenture.com/us-en/blogs/software-engineering-blog/shuhari-agile-adoption-pattern
    Basically it describes the 3 stages of shu, ha and ri, when training or learning something.
    Shu = get your fundamentals down
    Ha = once you have fully absorbed the fundamentals, make innovations and branch out.
    Ri = depart from traditional "theory" and open the door to creative technique.

    Your channel is very underrated, I've always liked how you explain your actions in closed captions. Keep up the good work.

    Your videos are really helpful in getting better at Mahjong because of how well you elaborate your plays. Thank you a lot for making them.

    Great video as always!
    Small nitpick: at 4:18 you are already in furiten because you discarded 1p, there's no "might" about it.

    I'm only about halfway along but I've got to ask: was this hanchan luckier than typical for you? Because I'm seeing chances of sanshoku nearly every single hand and I feel that definitely does not happen as much in my games (disclaimer: I am Adept III)

      I had ssk twice this hanchan at around 12min and 16min. It occurred slightly more often than it normally should but it definitely does not happen every single hand. But it will happen more often if you know how to maximise value in your hand by playing to accept more tiles that allow for the ssk possibility.
      As for whether this hanchan was considered "luckier than typical" everyone is welcome to see my stats, there will be games where I lose but I generally have a positive win-loss ratio:

    Can you briefly explain about wall reading? What is the correlation between wall and cheap/expensive tiles?

    • @Xanxust1
      @Xanxust1  Рік тому

      I assume you mean the comment at 13:45.
      When ppl discard more of a certain suit of tiles early in the game it means that ppl don't have tiles around that suit. This is because ppl usually discard isolated tiles in the early turns.
      Looking at the board during that moment: kamicha discarded 6p early so likely not to have many tiles near 6p. Shimocha is going for honitsu and is clearing all pinzu tiles from his hand. Toimen discarded 2p early so similarly unlikely to have many tiles near 2p.
      Therefore most of the pinzu are likely still in the wall. Pinzu becomes a cheap suit that is more likely to be drawn from the wall/ppl are more likely to discard from their hands in the later few turns.

      Yes it’s at 13:45. And thank you, got it clearly.
      Btw, do you have a drill for mawashi? I have a hard time learning mawashi, especially only having 20s per discard.

    • @Xanxust1
      @Xanxust1  Рік тому

      I don't think there is a specific drill for mawashi. But you can use some techniques like 1-in-18 suji (made a video on it), sotogawa, etc. if you think your hand is worth pushing. This kinda thing comes naturally with more experience

    Maybe this is a stupid question: the first hand, if instead of the chun the player on your left dropped a 9m, would you chi it?

    • @Xanxust1
      @Xanxust1  Рік тому

      Yes. Chii and drop 6p because there is a chance to play for chanta too.
