If I would have seen this video 1st I would have never bought the replacement rear speakers. But kudos to you my guy that was a hell of a video.. I'ma give it a shot though & I was thinking maybe that piece most likely went in the rear deck hole that was a nightmare to get in to make it bend into that angle you need without the string trick. thanks 👍👍
Yeah man I did the hard work for you guys so you don’t have to guess! Good luck and it could work that way but it didn’t work for me. Thank god I thought of the string trick lol
Thanks for a great video!!! More importantly you are the only person that has admitted their mistakes and talked us through the remedy. Well done, that certainly looked like a ball ache. Excellent tutorial!!!
You don't need to pull down the back seats to gain access to the fuses. If you open the arm rest the fabric backing peels away on velcro. Peel that and the sponge behind it and you can gain access to the fuse panel.
Just re installing after tinting the back window ! Man it’s making My cry ! Thanks lot for posting this video i didn’t open the floor plate was quick but on the way back it’s really difficult! Got the tray in some foam left and side panels for tomorrow
Thank you! This really helped me to find the latches on the front of the rear seat cushion on my 2019 XJL “Collection” Edition. Even with your video, they were hard to find by feel so I would never have found them otherwise. The key is to feel for the square cuts in the carpet around the latches.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! I used this guide to replace the trunk lid gas struts. I didn't have to remove the back seats just the bottom seat and tilt the back seat forward to get to the bolts that let me slide the struts out. Saved me $$$$$
Is the trunk area accessible through those rectangular holes underneath the speaker on 19:58 if not, how about underneath the speakers?? Please respond 🙏
@XJLuxury Well you are you going to love this, buddy locked the trunk right after disconnecting the electronics on the latch. So this is our only hope getting it open.
Excellent video. Do you think that if you removed the large rear speaker you would be able to put your arm through the hole and reach the emergency release for the boot /trunk?
Great video thank you so much you saved me money you are the only one showing this i hated the little square on the tint from the brake light wanted to know how to remove the brake light to re tint also speaker was making a rattle btw my back window is also cracked much appreciated thanks for your videos.
Great video. I had to do this by myself and the video was a big help. Don’t see any other way but the string trick at the end. Last time I do this hopefully lol
Thanks for sharing this video!! Lots of great information and advice for those of us who may need to tackle this at some point. You definitely saved us lots of grief for sure. Not for the faint of heart I would say lol. Just subscribed. Cheers Kevin
I know you said you addressed the back glass. I looked at your other videos. I could not find it. My back glass is cracked as well. Is there something with these things that this is a common problem? Great video btw. I have to work on my sunscreen.
Yes it is A very common issue. This is why I no longer want oem glass. I am going to get aftermarket because I would assume the aftermarket one fixed the problem

Hello. First of all, thank you so much for the video. I have a 2014 XJL and i’m in trouble with the sunroof. What i would like to ask; have you ever removed the panel in front of the sunroof (outside the vehicle, between the windshield and the sunroof)? If yes, could you please how to do this? I saw a trace of rust in the sunroof channel, and I'm afraid this rust is going under the panel I was talking about. If i can remove this panel, i want to see how bad the situation is; and i want to clean and paint it well. Thank you.
Hey so I am very fortunate to not have a problem with the sunroof that many XJ owners have however if I do have that problem in the future I will certainly make a video but unfortunately until then I will not have any contact on that. There are many people on the forums that have this problem that give detailed instructions on how to fix it I wish you the best of luck

@@XJLuxury Thanks for your kind reply. Hope you don't face any problem with the sunroof. As far as I see, after a rainy day or having the car washed, moisture constantly remains under the seal in front of the sunroof housing. I left the sunroof open for 5 days to dry but there was still moisture under the seal. I think the water does not drain and causes rust over time. Anyway, I'll try to handle it somehow. Thanks again..
Bro how many miles do you have on yours ? I’m suppose to be purchasing one Monday I’m kinda nerves because the miles are higher than what I’m use to but the records are good it’s always been cared for at a Jaguar range dealer
hello, Do you know how to take out the analog clock above the consol? It doesn't light up and it works, I hope it's a light bulb and I can't find anywhere how it changes. Thanks
@@XJLuxury thanks for the reply. I thought I should take it off but I didn't dare to break something, there is some plastic like a speaker cover or some ventilation, I'll try to take it off so maybe there's something holding that console with those two holes and a clock. thanks and greetings from Serbia
Hey I am good thank you for asking and happy New Years to you too. Yes I am doing fine. The Jaguar is fine as well. I recorded a lot of content last month and need to put it together. UA-cam is my hobby so I do it when I have spare time which I don’t have much of. However, I have content for about 5-6 videos recorded. I just need to edit it and upload. I should have an upload within a week. Keep an eye out and thanks for the support!
OMFG BRUHHH U R A LEGEND Remove rear seats put a roller table... OR..... put an electric engine in that space and make it a TRUE HYBRID with a 800 mile range minimum.
The fuses cannot be accessed without removing the seat backrest on the previous models of the x-351. In the user manual for my 2010 model, this is stated. 3. The passenger compartment fuse box. Note: Accessing the passenger compartment fuse box requires removal of the rear seat. This should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
You make a good point because there are people who make comments on this video that state you can access the fuse panel through the armrest in the rear.
In the early models, 2010 and 2011 etc you can pull the leather behind the arm rest to one side but to access the fuses you have to carefully use a modelling knife to lightly cut the foam insulation , cut three sides of a rectangle and then you can open the flap for access. I found this from my main dealer technician many years ago, I had bought a brand new 2011 and when it was about 8 months old I was in France and a " dodgy" phone charger adaptor fused the accessory socket in the car, I phoned the dealership and spoke to the technician to say that the manual says you cannot access the fuses, he said a trick they actually did in the workshop was to cut the foam as I have just mentioned, I did this on holiday and changed the blown fuse...problem solved. They did rectify this access problem on the newer cars but I do not know from what year onwards, I have a 2015 now but have not needed to check out the access yet.
I literally just did all this yesterday so I could tint the whole back window. I had that same problem with putting the back lining back. I ending up using a rope. My friend pulled it while I slide in back inside the hole. Wish I would of seen this video first. I would of saved 30 minutes scratching my head confused on how to get it in there 🤣🤣
Hello there my name is Jaime I work in upholstery shop I have a xjl for headliner and blind sliding I ordered recover somebody work in this xjl it's missing front sliding slide how do timing because is crooked
Very applaudable! Thanks a lot for giving me very useful instruction for the removal of the parcel shelf in XJ. Here is a question. Are the mid-range speakers on the shelf activated only when you turn on the Surround menu? P.S. The black plastic cover remaining after your job is originally attached to a sensor in the middle of the shelf.
So when I was playing with the surroundsound it didn’t deactivate them but it did make it less pronounced so it must still use the speakers when the surroundsound is off but not as much as when it is on. Also wow thank you so much for telling me that I did not know that.
I 100% agree that the rear tint around the break light looks horrible. I noticed when Jaguar revealed the XJR575 they actually tinted around the brake light which I found ridiculous coming from the actual car manufacturer.
Why oh why would you go in so deep and not do the full Monty? I wouldn’t sleep! ‘Half the job’ is not in my vocabulary… You could’ve removed the rear shelf ass’y and played with the rear blind unit; possibly fixed it. Or tested the plug for voltage whilst an assistant operated the buttons. The B&W system is notorious for blowing speaker units, possibly because it might be overdriven (1250Watts?) and/or mismatched somehow; if the amp is too powerful for the speaker voice coils and the cone suspension, then those could become self-damaged through coil meltdown or suspension shredding; if the amp is _underpowered_ then the AC modulation output “clips” at high volumes, ‘clipping’ [squaring] off the nice sine wave and creating DC modulation voltage. Clipping - aka square-waving - cooks the fine copper wire that is the voice coil wound around a mica cylinder which modulates back & forth in a slot between two circular magnets. You can smell if a voice coil is burned! The other thing to check would’ve been the disassemble the errant speaker unit to establish what’s vibrating. It might just be a loose bit of assembly - easily remedied with hot glue - or the voice coil having swelled and touching part of the magnet.(or the suspension falling apart). Thankfully my late 2014 has Meridian audio (850Watts). Mine doesn’t have the rear blind (‘sunshade’, your side of the Atlantic), but does have privacy glass option - which I hate! I have to say though, huge kudos to you for going this much distance and sharing it! Bloody well done!! 👌
I appreciate your comment. Maybe after spending eight hours doing a whole job I was really sort of frustrated with it and wanted to finish it. I really should have looked at the sunshade but honestly I wasn’t really going to wait for a replacement to come in if it was broken. Also I was not into fixing those small speakers if I really needed to because I was not going to attempt to fix them because they really don’t do much. You’re very welcome and enjoy your XJ!
You do know you can access the fuse panel through that center armrest. There's a flap that you move and its right behind there. No need to remove the seat. Also another main reason to remove the lower seat is to access the fuel pump in the gas tank.
So I was thinking of cutting the peg as a come fleetly last resort however my fear was that the peg holds down the deck and it would rattle or not be held down anymore against the glass. How has it been for you?
If I would have seen this video 1st I would have never bought the replacement rear speakers. But kudos to you my guy that was a hell of a video.. You’re welcome. It took me many many hours to do and I did it for the XJ community.
Excellent video. Do you think that if you removed the large rear speaker you would be able to put your arm through the hole and reach the emergency release for the boot /trunk?
Possibly. The trunk is very big. You could try and put a camera in there and then use a hanger to grab the release. But it would be very difficult

where did you run the string to in order to pull it. I have my back deck lid out and am having the same problem.
Wrap it around the pin and push the deck back to the spot while pulling down on the rope which will pull the pin down
