... everyone thought Angie was a little "touched"... a little "special"... and she was... just not the way they thought. She had a bit of unknown supernatural powers... and that boy was now safely locked inside her radio for whenever she needed him.

Helen Reddy was a song stylist, song interpreter and held the title "the 70s Queen of Pop Music". She was the first woman to host the late night musical variety TV show, The Midnight Special" Her genre, primarily ballads, is considered pop Rock, easy listening. Her version of "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from the rock opera (Jesus Christ!! Superstar) catapulted her into fame in 1971. She's a wonderful singer, check out "Peaceful", "I Believe in Music", "You and Me Against the World" and her intl anthem "I Am Woman". RIP to the Queen of Pop.

This was one of my favorites back in the day. It's got that deep and mysterious vibe like Bobbie Gentry's "Ode to Billy Joe", or Ozark Mountain Daredevils "Jackie Blue".

I love this song “it’s so nice to be insane, no one asks you to explain”! If you like her and you like Disney, she was the main female actress in the original Pete’s Dragon (from 1971). Helen’s voice is killer, so clear and beautiful.

I was 13 when this came out, loved the sound and the song but didn't quite understand the lyrics til about 6 months later and absolutely fell in love with it and Helen Reddy. The song makes you think kinda like 'od fo Billy Jole"

I was about 8 yrs old when song was big. I remember hearing it on my clock radio. I loved this song. It had a real R&B feel that I loved. The other "Angie" song I really liked was from the Rolling Stones. That one too has a smooth groove to it.

Yes, as a genre, I refer to these songs as the 'Crazy Lady' soft rock songs of the seventies. Reddy also did, lest we forget, 'Ruby Redress' and "Delta Dawn', two of my personal favorites, that were similarly themed: lonely, crazy ladies fantasizing about fantasy dates and lives. The Lost Souls of the era. It was rather sad. I actually personally knew a few myself.

You are the FIRST vlogger to react to this AMAZING song. Wow, this is a heavy song. Helen's voice was incredible. She sang what was considered the anthem for the Women's movement, "I Am Woman", and this gem gets forgotten. Kudos!

I was about 9 or 10 when I Am Woman came out and her album was my first "adult" album. Her voice was amazing. This was Pop Music (i.e. Popular Music) at it's finest. Yes the guy did disappear, never to be found. It was left for you to decide if he came back out of the radio in real life or just in Angie's imagination.
