As they have a sort of council deciding on what to do suddenly portals open as the combine begin to invade. The vortigant and human alliance is on high alert. Gordon as the representative of the humans and tiroga the most powerful vort and the leader of the vortigants began trampling these invaders as other vorts and humans fight back using weapons, tech and powers. But Gordon with his training and new powers and tech is able to easily subdue him and explain to him much of what he knows. Adrian is then freed as gmans puppet. Adrian explains that after freeman was lost as a tool that Adrian had to take over the slack and was on one mission after another being used by the gman and his employers. Through this time he had gotten much stronger and encountered many races and beings. But now he is finally free of the gmans clutches. In gmans desperation he had given Adrian enhancements to try to match freeman but it was no good. Freeman then would go on to teach Adrian alongside the vortigans. Together they will work to overthrow the gman. How however they don’t know. They only know that his employers are evil and must be stopped at all costs from controlling the multiverse in they’re game of chess. To be continued…

@@YasonYou I think he was probably present in the 7 hour war Sheperd failed to hold off the combine invasion and went into hiding And when gordon destroyed city 17 and the main capital, sheperd would be kept until gordon fails, which is probably not the case
I don't think the combine can invade. I don't know exactly how the liberation of the Vortigaunts happen after the original how life but in this mod Gordon personally participated in their freedom. This means that Xen is now in control of the Vorts and the first thing they would likely do is to close all portals to their world, meaning the combine won't get a chance to invade and Earth is saved.
@Zombieman154 Good thing Gman confused the address and nuked Black Mamsa, instead of Black Mesa! Srsly tho, Gordon got teleported to somewhere _outside_ the facility that Barney and his team from Blue Shift escaped to, and it's implied that the vorts stopped the portal storms, hence why everyone there is so chill.
Introducing time travel is risky, because what happens any other superior being other than G-Man (like mass enough Vortigaunts and you get the same effect) from time travelling to make their own changes?
Remember a shitty mod called Half-Life 2: Transition? Where the concept is also around declining G-Man's offer?. Anti-Climax is waaaaayyy better than what i mention earlier
The other scenario is better, think about it. If he win the whole half life 2 will never exist. Gman is the second Nihilanth but he make the right choice (damn this is hard to say)
It's a neat concept for sure, but it looks like it plays as a bit of a boring and slightly messy experience. I do like how the Vorts are now your allies, though. But man, that ending is awesome!
@@DukeoftheAges Kinda. In some places it's really good like most of Surface Tension and Questionable Ethics. And in some places it's just really not fun like in all the platforming sections, On a Rail, Residue Processing , and a huge chunk of the later chapters. And of course Xen. But it was quite solid for its time and helped advance FPS's out of being Doom clones. Even the primitive scripted sequences was very impressive and the game has very good environmental storytelling. I personally think Half-Life 2 is better but i still like the OG Half-Life a lot.
I know this probably wasn't intentional but at 5:04 when the vortigaunts hold their heads shaking, it almost as if they see freeman come back and there like "NOOO HE CAME BACK TO FINISH US OFF!"
This is interesting. Long ago, I read somewhere (might of been Raising the Bar), that Gordon was originally supposed to free the vortigaunts and lead them in a rebellion against the Nihilanth. While this isn't quite that, it's still pretty damn cool. Wish this mod was a bit longer, though.

Yeah, it asks a really good "what if" question. (What if Freeman was not put into stasis and just defied the G-Man from the beginning.) However, as many other people pointed out, Black Mesa would still be destroyed, and there is no way Freeman could stop the 7-Hour War. I think that is the symbolism of this mod.
@@RaamWTF I think that if Freeman went up against 'em *during* the Seven Hour War, he would've been destroyed immediately. He's a human after all. But the Combine won't be on Earth for 20 years, they will be destroyed in the first 3 years
Freeman not choosing G-mans deal will mean humanity won't have someone to lead them 20 years down the line against a more comparable foe. The combines main army destroyed every single of earth's armies in 7 hours, Gordon would not have done anything. Interestingly, Shepherd might replace Gordon as Gman's pawn against the combine but he would not have been well received but the science team of the resistance.

This unused dialogue from Gman is very interesting.... My idea is that Valve removed it due to Gman mentioning "Gordons holocaust on the aliens" but i think it would have added more to the ending then Gman Only saying half of the line 1:37
@@aspodermousstoplight100 Which, while I get it, also makes no sense because "Holocaust" refers to great destruction by fire. It's why people coin the phrase "nuclear holocaust". It's not a phrase that can just be "owned" by any one group.
It would be no less interesting if this mod came out before the release of Half-Life 2 in 2004. That is, in fact, this mod can be somewhat canonical and can show us a dream in which Freeman kills the remnants of aliens from Xen. But one way or another, in the second part of the franchise from the words of G-Man it can be concluded that Freeman almost immediately after the collapse the Nihilant's lair was immersed in stasis and didn't have the freedom of choice, everything was decided for him.
I love the fan fiction mods that expand on existing story and maps. It genuinely feels like a "what if" scenario if Gordon rejected the offer but screen wouldn't simply turn to black.

@@glathir3574 It would be in-line with the theme that rather than not knowing you were there, he pretended he didn't know you were following him in order to further manipulate your perception of him. Like a subtle realization you teleported in, but he continues business. Of course it would have to end with Gordan's plan unintentionally furthering Gman's ultimate plan for dealing with the combine. As soon as you destroy whatever key piece of equipment you thought would free humanity from entanglement in the Gman-Combine war, Gman teleports in, freezes time, and says "Once... an employee.., Always.. an employee."
G-Man's first mistake was assuming Gordon would attempt to _participate_ in that battle he had no chance of winning. Quite a dumb mistake considering Gordon has a degree.
De Ponq you just created an excellent idea: Recreate Hunt Down The Freeman in GoldSrc engine, like Black Mesa, and make it 100x better than the original (which wouldn’t be very hard) LOL
To all the people saying they don't like the level design - i actually think it represents this offer quite well. The feeling of hopelessness, no way to go without some crazy, hurtful pitfalls, the maze like aspects of it. I think it's quite well done for a being such as Gman stating that it's a battle you can't possibly win.
It makes sense too. We can reasonably infer G-Man was "nudging" things to help Gordon reach the goal he set for him, leading to the main games being much more linear than this, where you're on your own.

@@maldambo127 what, the humanity doesnt stand a chance against a multi dinmensional Empire, they can fight, but for not too long, also Gordon is trained in basic guns and indoor warfare.
*Somewhere in G-Man's office building* The Freeman, not only refuted your offer, but he managed to survive a hallway of the last Xenian soldiers, freed the Vortigaunts, and you teleport him back with the rest of the science team?
Yes, I know it is troubling to see such a perfect specimen escape from our grasp, but I have a backup plan, I always do. You don't mean that meek security guard mentioned in report BM-1.2 do you? No, no. I was referring to my other soldier, from the HECU. He may be willing to accept my offer, once he hears about his next assignment. What about the Freeman? He deserved a break. He'll just be working with us, later.
Big problem is that at the start of HL2 G-man implies that not even Gordon could have survived the fighting during the battle of Earth, the 7 hour war. In this alternate plot scenario Gordon is definitely going be around for the overwhelming unstoppable Combine invasion instead of safely floating in a stasis field between dimensions where he would fight the significantly weaker and easier Combine occupation/police forces left behind on Earth 20 years later.
If he's with Barney and the gang his likelyhood of survival is high. Unless of course the combine put out a bulletin for his specific retrieval. Infact if the combine did want to find him it's undoubtably not to kill him. As the Nihilanth was definitely a thorn in the Combine's side.
I *like* the implication that the Combine is this almost indescribable force that poses a primal truly evil threat that shows there's something malicious in the unknown, I don't like that this is immediately thrown out the window and Gordon becomes Jesus 2 in Half Life 2's story.
@@somerandomname3124 i think its because the invading combine force was way more intense, there was only a couple dozen cities left by the time gordon was released from stasis, so there would be way less combine troops and resources being poured into the planet, especially given that the combine had been actively yoinking resources from the world for 20 years anyways, earth by this point is infested with hostile xen life and doesnt have much use aside from portal tech, which given that the combine dont actively swarm the planet in order to find the borealis and allow remaining BM scientists to help create it clearly indicates that it really isnt that high up on their priority list
Gordon after sprinting for several days straight, taking in special juice to heal the countless bullet holes he took, firing a gun over 50% of the time he was escaping which should demolish his arms and shoulders or at least make them incredibly sore, getting bitten, burned, poisoned, and punctured: “Frick you, Gmail.com”
Opposing Force's third chapter shows Gordon entering the lambda portal. It's probably another day or two before the nuke explodes, from Gordon's perspective.

NOOOOOOO! You cant win against a God who possesses the time and space that is smartly changes the timelines!
"Haha! Crowbar to PONG"

G-man: no chance of winning
Gordon: goes doomslayer mode
I love this ending so much, freeing the Vortigaunts
"i can offer you a battle with no chance of winning"
gordon: oh no! anyway
Loved that ending
This is something gman has to have in mind after hl alyx, never understimate freeman, you cant just replace him.
Black Mesa should have tried this alternative ending also.
This is amazing! The final part with the vortigaunts was awesome. Fantastic job that the creator of this mod did.
Now, when the Black Mesa is finally complete, someone needs to remake this as a BM mod!
pros: barney gives gordon the beer he owes him
cons: half life 2 never happens
This is now canon for me.
I think that vortigaunts are now more free, combine would still be able to invade earth but humans have a more winning chance
It would have been sweet if there was a friendly Garg fighting for you in the end
Nothing in this world is more satisfying than that shotgun blasting everything in its path
He finally gets his beer
Gordon after sprinting for several days straight, taking in special juice to heal the countless bullet holes he took, firing a gun over 50% of the time he was escaping which should demolish his arms and shoulders or at least make them incredibly sore, getting bitten, burned, poisoned, and punctured: “Frick you, Gmail.com”
Where's the nuclear explosion at black mesa , supposed to be happening
That happens well after Freeman gets the offer by gman
Opposing Force's third chapter shows Gordon entering the lambda portal. It's probably another day or two before the nuke explodes, from Gordon's perspective.
@Leon S. Kennedy nope
I like how vortigauns after being freed are your allies.
Half Life 2 is just an alternate ending of this mod.
Gman: "This is a battle you cannot win."
Gordon: *survives anyway*
Gman: 4:24
Nuh-uh!
@@nameunn5479
Gordon: *_"UH-HUH!"_*
15:03 oh yeah Blue shift
An alternative ending source mod like this could be interesting, we're gordon is trapped in xen and has to escape, kinda like doom
Now we need an alternate version of Half Life 2 where Gordon is a scientist working with the resistance, and Adrian Shephard is Gman's "right man in the wrong place".
_Rise and shine, Mr. Shephard. Rise and shine..._
*Corporal Shephard
Barney: about that beer I owned ya
“Combine invades”
Freeman: hold my beer
2:23 who's that dead guy with a HEV?
Just a random Xen researcher dude.
Holy crap, this needs to be a full game. Freeman changes the timeline and, being the Freeman, stops the Combine from happening with his one-man army of science an guns.
